Terrible Tobermory Trip

The Blue Heron Boat Cruise

This is Little Tub Harmour, the picture taken from on top of the Blue Heron. I'm not sure if it's the first one or the second, but it's a Blue Heron for sure. This was about two and a half hours of touring around, and the weather was excellent.

A Lighthouse at Big Tub Harbour.

This is a lighthouse which is at the Big Tub Harbour. This keeps and kept boats from smashing into the harbour. Now days, the water is much lower, and the lighthouse is disfunctional, I think.

A Shipwreck in Big Tub

Here is a picture of one of the ships that have wrecked in Big Tub. The water levels have gone way down in the last few years, and now this ship is sticking out of the water, kinda like a skeleton of a big dinosaur.

The Other Shipwreck in Big Tub

This ship is actually all under the water still. You can see that the water in Tobermory is really clear and awesome. It's also very cold, especially at this time of year. I suppose it's this clear cause nobody's swimming and peeing in the lake yet, 'cause it's too cold.

The Ship Under the Boat

Here you can see the shipwreck underneath the glass bottom of The Great Blue Heron that we are riding on. This is still in Big Tub, I believe.

The Ship Under the Boat

This is another photo of that wreck. Again, you can see the cross boards because the top deck is missing. It must have been either chipped away to unload the boat after it sank, or eroded. Again, it looks like a rib cage, which is cool.

A Ship Engine

This appears to be an oven in which coal or lumber was burned as fuel to drive the ship. This is way out near an island somewhere, not in Big Tub.
