In Emerald we learn there are two worlds (Three in Draco's Flame.) Emerald Earth and Kanto Earth. In Emerald Earth the country is still under a monarchy and the country is called Emerald. Misphisto of Emerald Earth kills Mew in this parallel world. Mentor of Kanto Earth helps Ash and Gary by guiding them through Emerald and joins the fight in the last few chapters along side his counterpart.
