Dylan Bryant stood at the door to Jess and Jenna's apartment. His hands clenched into fists at his side as he listened to the voice on the other side of the door. "Jess…you cannot dump this man! Do you have ANY idea what that would do to your career! To break up with one of the most prestigious designers a month before one of the biggest weddings planned in the industry!" He heard a pause, then Jenna's voice rang out again; "You are going to fuck everything up Jessalyn Carter! Do you know that! EVERYTHING!" Dylan listened as the screaming stopped. He waited a moment, then knocked on the door. Within moments the door flew open and Dylan found himself face-to-face with Jess's extremely angry roommate. "Dylan!" Jenna's face quickly changed, as she tried in vain to plaster a false smile across it. "Hi, ummm, Jess is still at her mom's place. What are you doing here?" her words came out quickly and she shifted nervously on her feet, wondering if her voice had carried through the door and if so…had Dylan Bryant heard any of what was said.
Dylan quickly smiled, knowing that the moment he did all thoughts Jenna was having about wondering what he'd overheard would vanish. He'd learned a long time ago how to fake a lot of his emotions to get what he wanted. "Hey, Jenna. I know Jess is still out of town, I was going to surprise her and leave her this." As he walked past her Jenna now saw the dress bag he held. "It's her wedding dress. I know I'm not supposed to see the bride in it before the wedding, but that's kind of hard when I'm the designer now isn't it?" He laughed covering up the anger that bubbled just below the surface. "I've decided that since the New York premiere of my new spring line is only a couple weeks before the wedding that Jess is going to top the show off with the gown. It's my best design yet, of course, since it's for my bride. And I want to show it…and her…off to every top designer and buyer in the country." Dylan's words were quick and he watched as Jenna nodded in muted silence, her eyes wide with the knowledge she had, but still in awe and fascination of the man that stood before her. He quickly hung the dress up in Jess's room then strode towards the front door. "Don't tell her anything okay? I want it to be a surprise when she gets home this weekend." Jenna smiled and nodded, "Oh of course Dylan! She's going to be thrilled!" Jenna watched as Dylan walked out the door, closing it behind him with a solid slam.
How dare she! Dylan thought to himself as he walked to the elevator, slamming his fist against the button. Jess…stupid girl. Do you honestly believe, do you honestly think I'm going to let you make a complete fool of me! Dylan's mind ran over and over the words he'd heard from Jenna. So Jess believed she could just walk away did she? Believed that after everything he'd done for her that he would just let her walk out of his life and into the arms of some stupid BOY! Dylan snorted with suppressed laughter as he thought about it. He had plans for Miss Jessalyn Carter. Plans that would guarantee she never ended up with Nickolas Carter.
"Airport Robert, I'm taking a little surprise trip to visit my fiancée" Dylan muttered to his driver as he slid into the waiting limo. He leaned back against the soft leather of the car seats and watched the city fly by. His mind formulating a plan that would make Jessalyn and Nick Carter both regret they'd ever heard the name Dylan Bryant.
