No, I'm not being paid for this link. Stop being free loaders and buy at least some of the music you listen to. The artists do see a small slice of the money

A Perfect Circle

A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms
What can one say about A Perfect Circle? They are... perfect. Every song is different from the one before it, but somehow it all comes together to create the most amazing music experience you will ever find. It's nice to see a band that can play hard and soft, and even nicer to see both styles on the same CD. A huge step forward from the crap found bulging at Tool's seams. (I know that they have the same singer, OK?)

Collective Soul

Collective Soul - Dosage
Dosage is average, at best. It does feature the uninspired "Run" and "Heavy," but lacks any sort of intelligent music as a filler between the two tracks. There is no "Shine," "The World I Know," "Gel," "December," or even "Why Part 2." If you are in love with the band, you might enjoy this CD, but for the casual listener it will do little more than gather dust.

Dave Matthews Band

Dave Matthews Band - Crash
The Dave Matthews Band at their finest. Features the radio hit "Crash Into Me," but the real value of Crash lies in the songs that would never make it on the radio. The music varies from mellow to upbeat, but never falls into the pop music pit.

Korn
Korn - Follow the Leader
It's easy to forget about Korn. Their strange vocal noises and endless cursing cause them to look like a band that doesn't know anything about music. However, if you can look past their faults, they are still a damn good band. This is the best of Korn's CDs by far. How many bands do you see featuring a bagpipe player? |

Live

Live - The Distance to Here
Live is one of those bands that doesn't get nearly enough of the attention it deserves. Everyone knows their songs, but few know anything about the band. Many don't even know the band's name. These guys are serious musicians, some of the best in the buisness. The Distance to Here features "Dolphin's Cry" and "Run to the Water," but every song on the CD is great. A little harder than pop music in sound (there are actual instruments) with none of pop music's gayness. (See Disclaimer)

Oleander

Oleander - February Son
The name certainly doesn't help this band, but I could live with it. The problem here is the music. A few of the tracks I like, including "Why I'm Here" and "I Walk Alone." Actually, those are the only songs I like. The band reaches an all-time low with the blistering track "Boys Don't Cry." I cried when I heard February Son, but only after I finished laughing and had a seizure.

Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam - Ten
Pearl Jam, the band that almost was, but never really lived up to its full potential. Go to hell. Ten is a masterpiece, and contains some of the best music I have ever listened to. "Once," "Even Flow," "Alive," "Black," "Jeremy," need I go on? It rocks hard but isn't heavy metal, it slows down but is never boring. Every guitar is properly tuned and played very well, and the vocals are amazing. These guys belong in a genre all by themselves.

P.O.D.

P.O.D. - Satellite
P.O.D. is a band that I hated from the start. They tried to be heavy but never were, and I found a little more than a fair share of rap influence on this CD. If you enjoy mindless, emotionless, growling babble, then Satellite is the CD for you. Even the CD art sucks.

Staind

Staind - Dysfunction
Loud. Heavy. And Loud. This CD never lets up for more than a few well-crafted seconds, and the results are powerful. Vocals are sung with a furious passion rarley heard. The prequel to the ubiquitous Break the Cycle, but a distant cousin in sound. Dysfunction has left my CD player twice in the past 3 months.

Tool

Tool - Lateralus
Stop! There is still time to turn back and return your CD! (You did pay for it, right?) Lateralus is, in one word, boring. "Schism" is a decent song, but certainly didn't warrant buying the whole CD. I'm not sure about you, but a seven minute song of the same six notes over and over again isn't too exciting for me. Oh, and I love the song that consists of nothing more than a minute long ghost-like howl. Creativity at its finest, that's for sure.
