Impartial Skies
In death these doomed wings shall take flight
Beneath a fallen angels might
And thoughts my mind often kept leashed
Unto impartial skies release
Reproach is but a silent sound
That yet the stars have to rebound
And masked intentions kept so steeled
Into the forests eyes revealed
As iron binds the fey to die
So too, my joyfulness a lie
Though tears oft bring the conscience rest
A fury sears within my chest
But warmth and laughter, brightest smile
Shall unbind locked chains for awhile
Because memories of chuckling water shield
The tripping of my soul is stilled
And dreams my heart kept too long leashed
Unto impartial skies release

You read what I cannot say.
Never saying out loud,
What you can say with a look.
Yet my sences reel when you are near.
When we are alone,
The silence is alive with voices.

How is it that you drive me so
I cannot see
Wake from this dream only to find
It is true, and you live in spite of my Disbelief
Real? How can it be so?
What can you see behind these eyes?
And I?
I have little to offer
True, that I love you.
Would that you knew how much
Still, I stand in wonder
Of the power of your voice
Your eyes,
So intensely focused and penetrating
Your smile
Tolerating, amused, mischevious, challenging
I draw closer to the brink everyday
Look over and see the unknown
But unlike before, I am no longer afraid
And maybe next time you see me, I will
Not be waking from a dream
I will be drawing you into one.
