Innocence

They play the virtue of the sun
As light against an evil place
And gardens are compared to youth
In all their innocence and grace
But deep below the surface
Where the suns emblem cannot reach
Is a place of such magnificence
That spoken words will not prevail
Where candles flicker, prisms shine
And shatered mirrors dance across upturned eyes
A crystal garden grows in darkness
And yet is no less innocent

Namesake

Thy namesake is a painted rose
And thorns are splayed around the stem
Each color stakes a different claim
On feelings that are lost within
A child of reserved self arose
Whose eyes on this beauty did alight
There pricked her finger, left her blood
And stands quiet in that shaded place

Silence

If every sound is a sound
Then isn't scilence a sound too?
Can't you convey in quiet
Just as much as when being loud?
Can't silence add whole volumes
To any emotion that you feel
Reinforced by glare or smile
Which requires no sound on your part
Talk is nothing more than sound
Until a meaningful word is exchanged
Silence can create a world
Can you see what I am not saying?

Vessel

Thy name is but a vessel
Which carries me to shore
And were that ship of another name
I could never love you more

Impartial Skies

In death these doomed wings shall take flight
Beneath a fallen angels might

And thoughts my mind often kept leashed
Unto impartial skies release

Reproach is but a silent sound
That yet the stars have to rebound

And masked intentions kept so steeled
Into the forests eyes revealed

As iron binds the fey to die
So too, my joyfulness a lie

Though tears oft bring the conscience rest
A fury sears within my chest

But warmth and laughter, brightest smile
Shall unbind locked chains for awhile

Because memories of chuckling water shield
The tripping of my soul is stilled

And dreams my heart kept too long leashed
Unto impartial skies release

You read what I cannot say.
Never saying out loud,
What you can say with a look.
Yet my sences reel when you are near.
When we are alone,
The silence is alive with voices.

How is it that you drive me so
I cannot see
Wake from this dream only to find
It is true, and you live in spite of my Disbelief
Real? How can it be so?
What can you see behind these eyes?
And I?
I have little to offer
True, that I love you.
Would that you knew how much
Still, I stand in wonder
Of the power of your voice
Your eyes,
So intensely focused and penetrating
Your smile
Tolerating, amused, mischevious, challenging
I draw closer to the brink everyday
Look over and see the unknown
But unlike before, I am no longer afraid
And maybe next time you see me, I will
Not be waking from a dream
I will be drawing you into one.
