Christmas Eve, 2005
We waited until the afternoon of Christmas Eve to get our Christmas tree. BIG MISTAKE. Sarah and Dad drove all over Orange and Rockland counties for five hours. The lots weren't just closed for the day - they were actually out of trees. Luckily, we did managed to find a place that, although closed, still had a tree they were willing to sell. Just so happened that it was bee-yoo-ti-ful (you'll see in a minute).
Mom spent the day sewing Ziga's name on a stocking, and I wrapped the eleventy billion presents I had been stock-piling since November. In the evening we all decorated the tree more or less together. Z won my mother's heart with his decorating skillz.

We had a nice time sitting in front of the fire, where, thanks to wireless internet, my Dad can check his email.

My sister Ally with the poinsettas and Father Christmas.

I thought our fireplace looked really lovely.

Ziga puts the finishing touch on the tree - the star at the top.

The finished product: Our last-minute tree surrounded by gifts and guarded by the Nutcracker himself.

Me and Z in front of the tree (I am a poet and I knowz it!)

Me and Z on the other side of the tree, with the stockings. If you look closely you can see Z's stocking. The oldest one is my dad's, which was made when he was a baby. We Paulls been making them in this style ever since.

Z calls this our "ghey pose." It is, rather. And I love it!
