~The Orchid And The Rose~

On my pillow as I woke, was a tear belonging to you,
One as rare as the orchid, dripping from magic dew.
Your tears don't belong on the pillow with my head,
Give them to your Queens, of broken hearts instead.
You are the one-eyed jack mysterious and dark,
Stand clear my friend, for on this rose, you'll not leave your mark.
I never felt your presence until it was too late,
All I saw was your shadow, as you closed the gate.
But my eye caught a glimpse of the tear you left behind,
Sparkling from the light of the moon's glowing shine.
I'll not let you retrieve it, for now it is mine to keep,
Just know I'll not be like all the others, I'll not set and weep.
I'll not yearn for your affection, like a puppy needing to be fed,
There'll be no cracks in my heart, when in the end, all has been said.
I'll need no miracles to get over your touch,
And since I am not crippled, I'll never need you for a crutch.
No pain will there be, no bleeding heart here,
Cupid missed his bullseye, with his poisonous spear.
Never will I be accused of being jealously insane,
Among the other female creatures, you stand to gain.
I've practiced this speech, time and time again,
While my tears flow like an endless rain.
I walk in the remnants of my broken heart,
As they lie on the floor, as each new day starts.
Only in my dreams, do you visit my room,
This dungeon where I exist, filled with emptiness and gloom.
I can imagine your spirit moving among the clouds,
As beautiful angels gather at your feet in crowds.
I've licked the poison from cupid's arrow tip,
And I'll sleep now forever with your name upon my lips.
I'll have and hold you, in my eternal rest,
And in my heart, you'll remain my eternal guest.
