Angel Out of the Skies
It was supposed to be a boring summer. Most of Alejandro Lopez’s friends went preparing to go to college. He had to re-take one more class to fully graduate. Summer school was such a bitch. Alejandro would rather be surfing and staking than lesson to the teacher blabber on and on about photosynthesis or some shit like that. The boy sighed to himself in the back corner of the classroom. Yes, today was going to suck.
“Mr. Lopez!” a voice snapped up ahead. The boy quickly looked up. Mrs. Keitel was looking dead-on at him. Alejandro rolled his eyes at her. Oh great, now he’s going to hear another lecture about staying focused in class.
“Yes?” he asked.
“Have you been listening to a single word that I have said?” Mrs. Keitel asked sternly. Alejandro at the other losers in his class. They all were staring at him like a zoo exhibit. He sighed and rolled his eyes again. “Why does she try to make me lie to her?” the skater thought. He shrugged at her.
“No!” he said. Mrs. Keitel looked like a bloated up frog. Her eyes looked blood-red. The wrinkles on her bulldog face deepened like cracks in glass.
“Alejandro!!!!” she screeched. “Maybe this is why you are repeating this class in order to graduate!”
“Yeah, yeah…” he mumbled under his breath. Mrs. Keitel really was pissed off now. She slammed her ruler against her desk.
“You kids these days!” she screamed. “No have no respect for your elders!” The skater tuned her out as she went on about the youth of today. Alejandro couldn’t believe that he was stuck with this old broad for four weeks. Now he would just have to endure her hurling abuse at him and his classmates until one o’clock. The skater looked up at the clock. It’s only ten now. He sighed aloud. How long was this to go on?
In a few hours after class and lab, Alejandro left for the beach. This was his only release for the summer. Actually, it was good for him any time of the year. The ocean helped him clear his head. A sense of freedom came with the sea. He and the other surfers were kings of the beach. Today, Alejandro really needed to be at the beach. Anything to get away from Mrs. Keitel’s mouth. The sounds of the ocean and seagulls made life worth living again.
Too bad most of his friends were too busy for that. But yet, more territory for him. Alejandro looked around for some bunnies to flirt with. The only bunnies out there today were practically screaming, “Jail Bait” to him. Like hell he was going to register as a sex offender before he was finished with classes! No fricking way! Alejandro clutched his broad by his side as he looked around for some good waves to catch. But then, something else caught his eye. The boy squinted hard.
“What is that?” he mumbled to himself. Alejandro slowly walked over to the water. It looked like a girl lying there, out cold. He began to get worried.
“Help!” the skater shouted. “Somebody help me! There’s a drowned girl on the beach! Help! Help!” Alejandro raced over to her. Now, he could fully see the victim. She looked about sixteen years old. This girl looked rather cute. Her long, black, silky hair was fizzy and tangled up by the salty ocean water. She looked underfed with her red and yellow toga hanging off her body. The glittery gold pins were the only things holding it place. The girl wasn’t wearing any shoes either. Her make-up looked runny as well. Heck the only things that looked nice on her were her glitter red painted nails. Alejandro looked her up and down, confused.
“Did she fall off a cruise ship or something?” he thought. The boy knelt down and felt for a pulse in her wrists. He breathed out in relief as he found a weak one.
“Good, you’re still alive,” he mumbled. Alejandro looked around to see if anyone was coming to aid him. So far, an old couple was looking at them out curiosity. Certain that no one was coming to help them, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
“Right,” the skater mumbled to himself. “Looks like I’ll have to give her mouth-to-mouth.” Alejandro grimaced at that thought. Well, at least it was a chick who was a little bit younger than he was. How bad could it really be? The skater took one look around the whole beach. The old couple seemed to have wandered off into the distance at that point. Okay, that makes the situation a little better. A little. He got down on his hands and knees and slowly knelt down to the girl. She looked so peaceful just lying there. Alejandro swallowed hard and moved in closer to her face. He placed his mouth over hers and began to give the girl mouth-to-mouth. As the boy began breathing into her, the girl reached up and threw her arms around his neck. Alejandro looked down at her in shock. He tried to pull away as fast as he could. The skater sat back and panted like a crazy.
“What the hell?!?” he cried aloud in shock. The girl slowly fluttered her eyes and looked around. She saw Alejandro and smiled.
“Hello my good fellow,” she said. “My name is Anaya and I am a goddess.”
