Precision
Optical Technician / Spherical Polisher TRAINEE:
Harold Johnson Optical Labs is a manufacturer of precision optical
components for industrial, medical, research, commercial, and MIL-SPEC
applications. HJOL desires to find a dependable person willing to learn to
polish spherical optics to high tolerances, usually in small lots or
batches.
Individual will be trained to interpret customer blueprints and specs.
He/she will be required to follow verbal directions of supervisor and will
be required to operate optical machines, equipment, and work with high
temperature pitch. Heavy lifting will be necessary at times. Individual will
be trained for this position (no experience necessary).
Skills & Requirements:
- Must be a self-starter and be
able to work well with others.
- Good math and motor skills – A
MUST.
- Knowledge of micrometers – A
Plus.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Willing to stand for long
periods.
- Must not mind getting dirty.
