PGSM - Act Twenty

Ami gives the recap, in her little blue mercury symbol. Rei isn't telling Makoto something, but Ami and Makoto are hiding what they know about Mamoru and his fiancée. So, as said often before, the senshi are all keeping secrets from each other.

Then we see the ending scene from the last episode, Mars running in to see Nephrite standing on Venus. Once again, Nephrite takes her crown off with a rather victorious expression. He has the Mystical Silver Crystal!
Mars cartwheels around, and amazingly, he moves out of the way so that she can't kick him.
She throws a bunch of cards at him, which he blocks with his cape. He swishes his cape, but instead of vanishing, he just stalks off. This turns out to be a mistake, because it gives Venus a chance to get up. She holds out her hand and her crown starts to glow, then it explodes.
Nephrite had a fake one - as she demonstrates when she holds out a case and dumps about ten crowns on the ground. He storms off in a huff.
After he leaves, Mars and Venus stand there and look at each other awkwardly.

Back in the Dark Kingdom, Kunzite is pondering. He had thought that the princess was suspicious. He finds the sailor Senshi fascinating. So fascinating that he wants one.

Ami is alone at crown, still knitting with pink yarn. She's making mittens. She's sure that even though the group seems to be splitting up, they'll come back together again soon.

During the theme song, Rei and Minako de-transform. Minako isn't pleased to see Rei. But Rei said that she doesn't understand the princess. It's almost as though she's trying to get caught.
Minako tells Rei that she has to remember it herself. Once her true power wakes, she will remember everything.
With that, Minako leaves, telling Rei that she is the leader of the senshi and she will know what to do.

Minako makes it outside before staggering and steadying herself on a wall.

Beryl is watching the purple light of Metallica while Nephrite reports that he came very close to getting the MSC, but no dice.
Beryl scolds him, but it seems she's more upset that he showed up covered in ash.
Jadiete comes to Nephrite's defense, saying that the princess is smarter than they thought, making up a fake MSC.
That's when Kunzite speaks up. Maybe the princess does not have the MSC.
Nephrite gets cross - and demands to know when Kunzite is going to start working again.
Kunzite calmly says that he's about to - the other two just need to stay out of his way.
This sparks Beryl's curiosity.

At Crown, Motoki is gloating to his turtle. His turtle isn't the only one who has a girlfriend. He's still wearing the scarf that Makoto gave him. Just as he's thinking of her, Makoto walks in.

Ami had added a ball of green yarn to her pile, and is working with that now. Luna is demonstrating the cat in her as she chases a ball of blue yarn around.
Makoto rushes in and tells Ami that she's decided they have to tell Usagi that Mamoru is engaged. They can't keep giving her false hope. Ami says that whatever Mako-chan thinks is best...
But Luna isn't so sure.
Rei comes in and asks what happened, and Ami gives some sort of vague answer. Rei isn't all that concerned. She's focused on what the princess told her - that she needs to become stronger. So she has to fight alone, just like the princess does.
Ami brings Rei some tea, but Rei doesn't notice, and hurries off to search for the enemy.
Luna isn't too happy with this. The senshi are supposed to work together.
Ami remains optimistic. She's sure everything will return to normal soon, and she goes back to knitting.

Usagi is sitting in her room, staring at the scarf and remembering Tux telling her not to give up. (It took 8 minutes before Usagi put in an appearance in this episode.)
There's a knock on her door - it's Hikari from the previous episode.
She tells Usagi that she has a date with Daiichi, but as they're both kids, they can't go off by themselves. So she wants Usagi to "chaperone" so that she doesn't have to ask her mother.
Dates are no fun when parents are along.
Daiichi is having Hina's boyfriend take him, because Hina is busy doing something.
So Usagi and Hikari will have a double date with Mamoru and Daiichi. Usagi agrees.

They head off and meet the boys at a bus stop. Mamoru has not been told that Usagi is coming, which is pretty evident from his expression.
Someone dons a pair of sunglasses as her disguise and follows after them as they all get on the bus.

Mamoru gets tickets, and they head into a park. As they head off Usagi suddenly starts walking very strangely, and she can't figure out why.
Their spy is close behind them, also gaining entrance to the park.

The four are playing on a swing, and then they play badminton. Of course they hit the birdie into the tree, so Mamoru has to go up to fetch it. Then comes a game of tag with a ball. Usagi keeps getting tagged.
All this before lunch. Hikari and Usagi made a picnic lunch for them, and it turned out very good.

Makoto sighs and takes off her sunglasses. She's been trailing them all day. She wanted to tell Usagi all about Mamoru, but... she just can't bring herself to.

Rei is in front of her fire again trying to reach her inner power. The fire swirls around indicating trouble.
In the middle of the city, youma from before, including the airplane monster from Act Three, appear, make people scream, and then vanish.
Rei rushes to the scene, and turns around to see the corn-head youma from Act Four (Hmm, the episode where they all learned to work together...)
It seems that the youma are just illusions.

Jadiete doesn't approve of Kunzite's tactic of using illusions of youma. He says it will put the senshi on alert and make it harder to collect energy.
Kunzite tells Jadiete to stop being stupid and think very hard about the princess.

With that segway, we go back to where Artemis is caring for Minako. She's pushing herself too hard and he thinks she should rest. She wants to waken Mars, and then things will be easier.

Kunzite is testing the princess. He wants to know if she's real. That's why the illusion of airplane-head is leading Rei on chase around the city.
Ami continues to knit, and Usagi and the others are still running around at the park.
Usagi gets tired, so she sits down on a bench. Mamoru keeps her company while the kids run off to play.
They sit there, as Makoto watches.
Usagi reaches into her bag to give him her scarf... and then Hina turns up. Moment ruined.
Hina finished her work early, so she could come to the park.

Daiichi tells her that she needs to sit next to Mamoru. After all, the bride should sit next to her fiancé. Hina corrects Daiichi, saying that they won't be married until after they graduate from college.
Usagi backs off, literally when she sees the rainbow youma from Act Five.
She makes some sort of excuse and hurries off.
Makoto feels bad. She wishes she would have told Usagi about Hina and Mamoru.
Usagi is very sad as she walks away and Makes Up to fight the youma.
Shortly after, Mamoru excuses himself from Hina and the girls. A suspicious Makoto follows him.

Meanwhile, Rei is still spinning, trying to get the youma illusions to stand still.
All is calm at Crown. Ami is still knitting while Luna naps. Ami has finished her project. She packs up and heads home.

Meanwhile, Sailor Moon is fighting against the youma in the park. Tuxedo Mask comes running to help when Makoto steps in his way. "It's you," she says, "Chiba Mamoru."

Ami is on her way home when suddenly she is stopped by the strange sight of black flower petals swirling all over the place. Kunzite appears in front of her.
She strikes a defensive pose as he approaches her, and then she Makes Up.
She cartwheels over to him and tries to blast him with her Shine Aqua Illusion but he just absorbs it into his sword. So she tries Mercury Aqua Mist but he absorbs that too.
He tells her that she belongs to him now, and he blasts her with a dark cloud of power, knocking her out.

The youma attacking Sailor Moon and Rei vanish.
Makoto and Tux continue to look dramatically at each other.

Back at Crown, Luna continues to sleep next to Ami's project - four pairs of mittens, one for each of them.
