day 3


Day 05 - Apollo Bay - Lorne - Torquay - Geelong - Melbourne (200km/3hrs.)
Depart Apollo Bay for Lorne. Enjoy morning tea in one of the cafes and continue your journey along the Great Ocean Road, stopping off to view the spectacular coastline at points such as Mt Defiance Lookout and Lorne. At Torquay visit Surfworld, an interactive museum, and ride a wave without getting wet. Depart Torquay for Geelong. Arrive at Geelong for lunch and dine at one of the city's waterfront restaurants. Visit the National Wool Museum, and explore the waterfront Geelong including the art deco Eastern Beach sea bathing complex, Eastern Park and the Botanic Gardens. Depart Geelong for another hour drive to Melbourne.

Day 03 - Ballarat - Stawell (120km/1hr30mins.)
Journey to Stawell, Victoria's largest producer of gold and home to the famous Stawell Gift. Relax and enjoy what the region has to offer in wines at Grampians wineries. At Halls Gap, take a stroll around the village which is nestled at the base of the Grampians mountains. Visit the Boroka and Reid's Lookouts for a panoramic view of this stunning mountain range. Explore Brambuk Living Cultural Centre, which highlights the heritage and culture of the region's Aboriginal people. Tonight overnight at Stawell.

Day 04 - Stawell - Warrnambool - Port Campbell - Apollo Bay (350km/5hrs)
Depart Stawell for Warrnambool. Visit the Logan's Beach Whale Nursery, or visit Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum which reflects the atmosphere of a small coastal port in the 1850s. Depart Warrnambool and travel to Port Campell for lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring Campbell National Park and Bay of Islands Coastal Parks including Bay of Martyrs, Bay of Islands, Loch and Gorge, The Twelve Apostles and Glenample Homestead which relays the tragic story of the Loch Arch shipwreck.
