Thursday, 19 April 2007
Welcome to the Blue Jays' NetMeeting Blog!
Hello, and welcome!

This blog is an informational tool. We will post items on NetMeeting here as each of our team members work on our training presentation. This is a place to find tips and tidbits of information on this powerful collaborative tool, and is also a place for you to post questions and comments before our training meeting.

Enjoy!

For those visiting our blog for the first time, this is someinformation on who we are and what this project is about.

The Blue Jays are a communication-training group of the organization. Their tasks consist of training employees and troubleshooting communication technology issues. For this project, the team elected NetMeeting. This project will benefit not only the company, but also all employees that communicate and do collaborative work with others not located within the same physical facility. This could be a group of secretaries coordinating travel arrangements for their supervisors; engineers working on a new product design; lower and middle managers working on budgets for the upcoming year; upper management collaborating on company policy changes; or the financial organization preparing to present the quarterly results with the company. The use of NetMeeting is not limited to a particular group of people, but useful to any team. By learning and using this communication tool, the company will save money, since much of the travel for face-to-face meeting becomes obsolete. This tool will enable teams to accomplish projects and make decisions in a timelier manner. The audiences for this virtual retreat are all employees that are, or may in the near future, work with others outside their physical location.
