Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Dirigo, "Mediocracy is Unacceptable"  rocks!

A: Thank you, but that's not a question.

Q: Will you write about religion, politics, current events, Jay Leno's Chin?

A:  This is not the karaoke lounge, I do not do requests. If you e-mail me an idea for an article and I write about something similar, do not assume that my article was inspired by your e-mail. If I read an e-mail that you send with a request, it will simply be deleted without a second consideration.

Q: I disagree with you about Solitaire, analytical psychology, Avocados. Your site blows and I hate you.

A: Don't waste my time punk. "Mediocracy is Unacceptable" isn't here to appeal to your opinions and whims. Honestly, I could care less if you visit my site, so do me a favor and don't.

Q: Well, what is the purpose of your site?

A: The main objective of my site is to release the masses from the bonds of mediocracy, hence the name "Mediocracy is Unacceptable". Far too many people believe that it's perfectly fine to just settle, and years down the road they regret their decision. I'm here to help these people by providing them with information in a stimulating way that will hopefully spring them into affirmative action. Everyone knows the old clich?about shooting for the stars, right? Well, consider what its meaning: The more difficult goal you strive for, the farther you will get. Think about it in terms of percentage: If your goal had a value of 10 and your psychological energy allowed you to achieve 70% of your goals,  that's 7. If your goal was 20, that would be a total of 14, 7/5 of the original goal. Obviously it doesn't function exactly in that fashion, but you understand the general idea.

Q: Are you an obese, 40-year old virgin, living in your parents basement, playing World of Warcraft?

A: No, I'm a full-time student with a major in psychology and a minor in neurobiology. I'm aspiring to become a psychiatrist or a research psychologist ( I haven't decided completely) because psychology is my greatest passion. I hope to bring some concepts I've developed into the field, because I feel it necessary to make a permanent contribution.

Q: You must be fairly young then, you can't have any wisdom.

A: Listen old-timer, it's people like you who are impeding the progress of society as a whole. By keeping these stereotypes alive, the general populous of youths will not be able to exceed the cultural standards you have placed for them. I'm so very tired of arrogant elders boasting their infinite wisdom, when in fact they are merely quoting old fables are stereotypes. "You can't talk about bums being hindrances to society because you got everything that you ever wanted from your mommy and daddy". Wrong.  Firstly, it's true that I did grow up in a middle-class family and I never felt that life was uncomfortable but my parents were never slack with discipline. I whined when I was young, and they would discipline me, simple as that. I learned what was acceptable and what wasn't. Secondly, chances are that you were never a bum either, and therefore in your opinion, you have no right to talk about them as well. The world is governed by natural selection i.e. survival and reproduction of the fittest. By allowing beggars to suck down handouts, we are opposing natural selection, thus preventing progress of humanity. In these modern times ANYONE can get a job, go to school and get enough financial aid to attend college, bums are no exception. I'm not opposed to taking care of people who are unable to take care of themselves, but as for fully-able beggars, I feel no sympathy.  I realize that this argument could go on for quite some time, and in future addictions I will discuss this main topic in more detail.

Q: Your site is completely like so-and-so's (ex: Maddox). You're an unoriginal copy cat.

A: I knew I would receive an e-mail like this...The idea of a website which hosts articles discussing various philosophies the author has is not an original concept that anyone can claim. Maddox and people like him were not the first people to formulate this site design, they just happen to have acquired a lot of fame for them. I have COMPLETELY different viewpoints with Maddox (I'm using Maddox because he is the most well known), one of them being his opinion on gender. I view both genders as equals. Maddox is simply embellishing on the gender stereotypes in order to bring a satirical tone to his site. Don't get me wrong, I think Maddox's site is very entertaining, but I would never want to steal one of his ideas. And this about the third or fourth e-mail that is not a question.
