So you think you want to join Angels vs Demons? There are some rules that you should know and understand first. It may seem like a lot, but most of it is just online RPG common sense. Who | Characters | Game Play | Storylines | Other Anyone although we do request that anyone under the age of 18 must understand that there may be adult content, and have parental permission. We are not responsible for any minors here and will assume that parents know what their kids are doing. By applying, the player understands this. There is a character limit. A player may have up to 3 characters, HOWEVER, each has to be a different type. For example: You can play a human, a demon, and an angel, but you can’t play 2 demons, and an angel. This is so that one person doesn’t over flood a type, because sometimes that can be unfun. You also cannot pick up all three characters at the same time. Because the game is just starting you may start with 1 and after a week of activity pick up a 2nd. After another 2 weeks of showing that you are active with those 2 characters, then you will be allowed the 3rd. We don’t need any dead weight hanging around. That makes the game unfun. This rule is subject to change depending on how the mods feel with how the game is going. You can't play your own family members. For example, I can't apply as my characters brother/sister/mom/dad/uncle/or any other blood related relative. Why? Because that's not fun for the other players. If you don't want to puppet those characters and want to do storylines with them, find a friend or request someone to play them with you. Each character is represented by a PB, or Played By. A PB is essentially a celebrity that you've chosen to cast for the role of your character. PB's can be actors, musicians, or models. We will not hold a PB for anyone unless it is an emergency situation (see the Other section for more information) and PB selection is first come first serve. There may not be duplicate PB's unless there are twin characters. In the case of twin characters, the mods of the community must be notified by BOTH players, and the PB must have something about them that people can tell them apart from the other player's same PB. For example, different clothing style or a different hair-do. Be active! We define active as being on AIM once every three days, and posting in journal at least once every two weeks. Relationships of all types are acceptable, EXCEPT for one and that is anyone over the age of 25 can’t date anyone under 18. No 12 year old sluts running around either. In fact, let’s try to keep our characters over the age of 16? If you’re unsure of what is acceptable, check it over with a mod first. We want things to be realistic and COMFORTABLE. Maturity is important. We cannot stress this enough. Some characters may be immature at times, but let’s not go overboard with it. Going overboard will subject you to removal. Don’t mix OOC and IC (Out of character and In character) issues. For example, just because one character hates another, does not mean that the players hate each other. It’s a game, and conflict is going to happen IC, so don’t take it too personally. Let’s handle relationships accurately around here. Remember that a real and strongly bonded relationship will take time and/or lots of work and effort. Please try to avoid whirlwind romances that end with eloping after knowing each other for three days. Maybe on occasion it’s okay, but if too many people do it, then it just gets annoying, and if it’s done too often by the same person, ditto. No puppeting characters without permission. I cannot stress this enough. Also no god-modding or in other words telling people how to play. Suggestions are fine, but unless it’s a real problem, let’s respect everyone’s different writing styles and preferences. Finally, no ultimate extreme beings. While Angels and Demons each have their own powers, let’s not get crazy! Only use icons of your character. Keep them work/school/public appropriate. Failure to do so will result in a warning and then removal. Please don’t post anything that will be considered pornographic material. While this is a mature community, we want players to be able to enjoy the entire community from all locations of their life. LJ-Cuts and warnings are needed for anything that is questionable. Everyone plays differently. Some people Storybook (3rd person writing like from novels) and some people asterisk (*jumps up and down*) and some people do both. Everyone has their own preferences. Let’s be respectful of this. It is acceptable to RP multiple different scenes at the same time, so long as they all aren’t happening at the same time. For example: You RP 3 different scenes with 3 different people all at once because you can only RP at a certain time during the day. You cannot however say that all 3 of these scenes happened at Noon that day. Separate the times realistically so that people don’t get confused. Mods must be notified by BOTH parties of anyone who wants to do a pregnancy, so that we don’t have any pregnancy storylines where Mom says: “I’m Pregnant” and the Dad’s player is going: WTF!? O__O Starting a pregnancy without the mods knowing will get both players into A LOT of trouble. Also, when in a pregnancy, remember you have to try as hard as possible to stick with it. No rounds of: “Oh I’m pregnant!” “Oh I aborted the baby!” then next week: “OMG I’m pregnant again!” and then “I miscarried.” There are some storylines that are highly intense. Failure to write these storylines accurately and maturely will result in removal. If you can’t handle writing that storyline, then find a new one. There are a lot of great ways to make your characters active and interesting without going overboard. If you need help finding things to do, contact a moderator for help. Things considered intense storylines: Drug/alcohol/addiction problems, rehab, depression, eating disorders, stalkers. The following storylines cannot be entered into without the moderator knowing and without permission from ALL parties involved. For example, if you want to do a rape storyline or terminate a pregnancy, the mods must be informed from both players involved. This is to avoid people accusing others of false rapes, etc. etc. and ending pregnancies without the permission of both parents.Storylines that we would like to be informed on: Rape, miscarriages, abortions, deaths (humans only), major wounding accidents/fights. The following storylines are not allowed PERIOD:Incest, alien abductions, and anything else that we may find absurd or horribly offensive. You MUST add the moderator. Failure to do so will result in your removal. We do not tolerate icon theft or plagiarism. Don’t do it. If you want to use someone else’s icons, make sure you have permission to first. Need to go on Hiatus? LET US KNOW! If you do not properly inform us about your hiatus via email or OOC post, it will not be counted. Don’t mix OOC and IC (Out of character and In character) issues. For example, just because one character hates another, does not mean that the players hate each other. It’s a game, and conflict is going to happen IC, so don’t take it too personally. You can play at other games, but don’t use your character journal here to do that, or for other communities. That can just get really confusing to new players and old players alike. If you want to reuse your AIM name for another community, that’s okay, but keep the games separate. Only post OOC material in ad_ooc. This is not a place to write rants and be immature. Otherwise we highly encourage locked posts to your writing partners. If your journal is suspended or deleted and you want to keep playing, tell the mods ASAP, so that we can keep the PB you were using reserved.
