The job presented some major challenges not unlike most basements. Low clearance, duct work, wiring, waste lines and a poorly constructed stairway were problems I faced right from the start. The customers on this project really had great ideas on customizing their basement. A gas fireplace framed on a 45 degree angle (picture #9). The Hearth was specially ordered and cut from Black Granite. I hand picked the mantle, a weathered piece of Poplar from an old saw mill not far from my house.

This basement job was hands down one of the coolest jobs I've ever done. Unfortunately, we didn't take before pictures but it was your typical block foundation with concrete flooring.
