U-6, U-8 soccer Dominance

In 5 Seasons of youth soccer I have developed the best of the ABE youth soccer association.

When I get players I develop Roles for players.  It does not mean positions in U-6.  I break down the team in half.  Top 3 or 4 players and the bottom 3-4 players.

Players in the top half, have got to be leaders.  They are your goal scorers and grinders.  Developing Grinders is hard because most kids under 6 are scared.  These are the kids that are fearless and go get the ball will jump over fallen players and legs and don't watch there shots.

Second tier players are primarily defense and kids sent up field hopefully to build confidence and score.

there are only 2 tiers.  don't kid yourself thinking that there is many layers to a team, just many kids.

My Girls teams that I headed were a combined 30-7-2 with 3 championships a 2nd and a 4th.  Only the 4th place finished with worse than a loss during a season.

I have High Expectations.  As my boys teams were only 4-10-1 but both teams had very little experience.

Indoors I have had bad luck I just get kids that were not already picked through.  My record as a coach is rough cause we don't practice has been a rough 0-6-2 in U 7 this year, 1-22-1 in my girls u-8 team and 12-12-1 last year in U 7.
