All-Time SEPTA Bus Roster Since 1970

The following is a list of all buses purchased by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) since the 30 January 1970 acquisition of the transit properties of the Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company, commonly known as the Red Arrow Lines. Although SEPTA acquired Route 54, which operated into New Jersey, it did not acquire a Philadelphia to New York bus route, which was transferred to a subsidiary of Red Arrow, Garden State Coachways. There were three groups of buses leased by SEPTA:

The buses leased from WMATA were assigned to Germantown Depot. The Maryland MTA and DART First State buses were used exclusively by the Trenton-Philadelphia Coach division based at SEPTA's Germantown Shops for use on the Route 310/Horsham Breeze.

The information from this site came from research by Michael Greene, and thanks must go to Andris A. Kristopans for data on the NABI buses, to Craig Barnes for information on the Neoplan AK series, and to Bob Sauer for information on the 1979-1980 WMATA leased buses.
