Glossary of Terms

Welcome to the Glossary of Terms. I am always getting e-mails asking what is a "pipeline" company? What's the difference between a "Squrt" and a "Snorkel?" Well this page is here to answer your questions! If you have a question, e-mail me and I will post the question and answer it for you. Remember, no question is stupid and someone might just have the same question. Enjoy!

What is a "Pipeline" Company?

A Pipeline Company carries 10 100ft of 5' Large-Diameter-Hoseline (LDH). A regular engine company, with a 1500 gallons-per-minute (GPM) pump, carry 5 lengths of 5'LDH. Any engine company with a 1000GPM pump, does not carry any Large-Diameter-Hoseline.
