I stand behind Joey as he rings the doorbell. Some blue eyed dark haired guy answers the door.
"You must be Joey. I'm JC." The guy, JC, says and offers Joey his hand and smiles at me. "Well, hello there."
"Hello, JC. I'm Samantha."
"Oh, you must be the sixth member huh?" He smiles again and laughs. "Come on in you two." JC steps aside so Joey and I to come in. "Hey, you guys! Joey is here." JC calls as we go into the living room.
As we go into the room, Chris, who I remember, comes over and gives Joey a hi-five. "How you doing Joey?"
"Fine. Chris this is Sam, who I believe you met before."
"Of course. It's a pleasure madam." Chris leans and kisses my hand.
I laugh. "Hi Chris."
Chris smiles. "I'd like to introduce you all." He says looking around the room at all the people. He walks over to a curly headed blond boy and says, "This is Justin Timberlake." Justin gives everyone a small wave. Next he steps a short distance to another blond guy who sits next to him. "This is James Bass, but we call him by his middle name. Lance." Lance nods.
"Sitting next to him is JC, who answered the door." JC smiles and winks at me. "I'm Chris." he says pointing at himself.
Joey laughs. "I'm Joey. And this is my best girl and friend, Samantha. But call her Sam or she might kill you."
Everyone laughs and I smile. The guys all sit down as Chris tells them about his idea for a new group, and after a while a lady carrying a tray comes into the room.
"Boys, I think you need a break." She says with a big smile. "I'm Justin's mom, Lynn." She puts down a tray full of cookies and milk.
"Way cool! Thanks Mom!" Justin exclaims and reaches for a cookie and a glass.
Lynn laughs and ruffles Justin's hair. "So did you boys figure out a name for your group yet?" "Nope." Justin mumbles from behind his mouthfull of cookie.
Lynn takes a pen and a piece of paper. "I had an idea." She writes the boys' names out on the paper as the guys get back to discussion. I watch her as she tries to make an anagram containing the letters in the boys' names. She writes out "n-s-y-n-c" the now-famous anagram, that just about knows about. "Hey guys. How about NSYNC?" She hands them the paper.
"Yeah! I like it." Chris says as he hands the paper to JC, and it continues it's way around the table.
Joey looks at me over the paper and gives me a little smile. I return his smile, but deep down inside, I think about the fact that I might loose Joey. I shake off that feeling and get back into the conversation.
