The Fab Four

Left to Right: John, George, Ringo; Bottom: Paul

NEWS: Go see the Apple building!

It all began in Liverpool England, back in the 1950s. A kid named John Lennon was inspired after he heard Elvis. At the age of fourteen he started his first rock group, The Quarrymen, with a few of his friends from school. A few years later he met another young man named Paul McCartney at a gig the band was playing at a church picnic. Thus was born the most successful rock songwriting partnership in history. Paul was friends with another teenager named George Harrison, and he introduced him to John. As the other Quarrymen went their seperate ways, one of them, Stuart, died in Germany of a brain tumor, the boys changed their name several times. For a while they were known as "Johnny and the Moon Dogs", "The Silver Beetles", and finally, John came up with "the Beatles". Their drumer, Pete Best, was replaced by Richard Starkey, who was known for wearing rings on every finger. Because of his rings, he got the nickname "Ringo" and Starkey was changed to Starr. The Beatles were destined to become the most succussful, most famous, and most loved rock group in the history of music.

Me (looking doofy) with the Beatles at Madame Tussaud's wax museum in London, England.

I was lucky enough to see a Beatlekid in the summer of 2000. Ringo's oldest boy, Zak Starkey, is playing drums for The Who. HE's fantastic. He did after all learn from Moonie ;-)

In all of my top four bands I have a favorite. In this one, it is without a doubt, the group's founder/leader, John Lennon. Of all the celebrities there are, in my own opinion, none are as fascinating as John. Also, I just really like his personality and voice :-) People say I'm obsessed...and they're probably right, but if I am, then I'm proud to be. I wouldn't want it any other way. He's my idol.
