This gasket is from a Merkur that wasn't driven hard. This is a FelPro gasket with the part number 8993PT1. The car was junked because it needed a Wastegate. The car still had the stock boost controller hooked up.There is some delamination of this gasket. The oil passage is made of copper.

This gasket appears to be the original factory Ford gasket. The part number is F47E6051A5A and it says Fel-Pro on it. This was a 100K car. You can see that the armour was worn through. This let the carbon build up in the crack. The oil passage is made of rubber or neoprene.

This is a Detroit gasket that was on my car for three months until the head cracked and dropped an insert. You can see that it has a gap between the two armours in each cylinder. You can see a little carbon on the number four armour which is probably because of an uneven block. I ran this head hard. The head was cut flat. This head was torqued to 90 ft.lbs.. The surface of the gasket is teflon and was stuck to the head an deck after I removed the head. See the next picture to see how it started out. The oil passage is made of steel.

This is the Detroit gasket I use as a template to do cylinder head porting. The marks are from a carbide bit. The oil passage is made of steel. The orange coating is teflon.

This is the Fel-Pro 1035 gasket specifications.

This is the Fel-Pro gasket.
