(1) World Cruiserweight Champion Wildfire defeated Tony Mamaluke by pinfall in 9:55 to advance in the Cruiser Cup. Mamaluke took it to the Cruiserweight champ in this match, but his trademark recklessness would be his undoing. After missing a standing Shooting Star Press, Mamluke was easy pickings for a Flamethrower, enabling Wildfire to score the pinfall. Philadelphia Champion, and the self-proclaimed "King of Hardcore," Physical Graffiti came to the ring. He introduced a video showing highlights of his reign and made an open challenge to anyone who thought they were hardcore enough to take him on. Former ECW World Tag Team and Television Champion Yoshihiro Tajiri answered the call. (2) Philadelphia Champion Physical Graffiti defeated Yoshihiro Tajiri by pinfall in 6:07. Graffiti attacked Tajiri as soon as he slid into the ring and was relentless in pounding away on the Japanese Buzzsaw. Tajiri managed to mount a comeback, but was soon thwarted by a shot below the belt and the Swan Song DDT, allowing Graffiti to retain his title. Madison Wilcox said that she would have an exclusive interview with the Commish later tonight regarding a major announcement. A pre-taped promo from Joey Matthews aired, talking about When Worlds Collide. Devon Air was shown conducting phone interviews in his search for a tag team partner, insinuating that he was in talks with the Nasty Boys, the Sheepherders, Road Warrior Animal, and the Ultimate Warrior. Abi and Hanzo were both shown warming up in the back. Madison Wilcox interviewed the Commish, who announced that Battle of the Titans XVIII will be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan on March 22, 2008. He also said that the first match for Titans will be announced at the Hammerstein Ballroom when FNF emanates from there in two weeks. (3) World Heavyweight Champion Z-Man defeated Abi and Hanzo in a Three Way Dance in 15:32. This wild brawl was never completely under control, and both Abi and hanzo were hungry for gold. The first elimination came when Abi shoved Hanzo from the top to the mat, avoiding a superplex attempt, and nailed a moonsault. Just over a minute later, as Abi was punishing Z-Man, Hanzo ran back in and took Abi out with a Hanzo Sword. Z-Man made the cover, and retained his title in yet another tainted victory.

"Man in the Box" hit the loudspeakers to signal the arrival of World heavyweight Champion Z-Man and his valet, Desire. Z-Man bragged about his dominant victory at Hell Night and about how he outsmarted his opponents. The Commish interrupted the champ's boasting to announce that he would be defending his title in a Hell Night rematch next week on Friday Night Fights! Kevin Kelly and Dusty Daniels recapped the events of Hell Night. Syxx-Pac joined them on commentary for the next match since he will face the winner in the next round of the Cruiser Cup, and has a history with both men. (1) Jerry Lynn defeated Marty Jannetty by pinfall in 12:07 to advance in the Cruiser Cup. After an exciting, old-school bout between these two legendary cruiserweights, Lynn ducked a superkick and surprised Jannetty with a Cradle Piledriver to score the win. After the match, Syxx-Pac entered the ring and shook hands with Jerry Lynn. Madison Wilcox interviewed Razorblade about his match with Sabu and Jason Dunn. (2) Matt Bentley defeated The Great Kazushi by pinfall in 7:47 to advance in the Cruiser Cup. After several minutes of non-stop action, Bentley KOed Kazushi with a superkick for the victory. After the match, Bentley vowed to win the Cruiser Cup. A video aired on the King of Hardcore, Philadelphia Champion Physical Graffiti. Madison Wilcox interviewed Jason Dunn, who declared that tonight would be step one in his journey to win some gold in the GWF. (3) Jason Dunn defeated Sabu and Razorblade in a Three Way Dance in 11:52. Chris Kane had the unfortunate job of refereeing this hardcore war. The three men tore into each other without abandon, trying to win at any cost. At one point, the brawl spilled into the crowd, where Sabu leapt off of the Crow's Nest onto his opponents. Soon after, Dunn turned the tables on Sabu and pinned him after the T3. Later, as Blade went for the Cutting Edge, Dunn countered with an Anaconda Vice, leaving Blade no choice but to tap out.

Devon Air came to the ring. He reminded everyone that he still had a World Tag Team title shot to cash in, and that he was looking for a partner. In the meantime, he said tonight marks the beginning of his ascension to the Cruiser Cup finals at Battle of the Titans XVIII. (1) Austin Aries defeated Devon Air by pinfall in 15:04 to advance in the Cruiser Cup. This match should have been on PPV. The two cruiserweight standouts held nothing back in this bout. The bout ended when Aries countered a Bodybreaker with a Brainbuster. A video on the long history of Dan the Man and Bazooka Joe aired. Madison Wilcox interviewed Syxx-Pac. Syxx talked about being one of the first cruiserweights to gain notoriety in the US, along with Jerry Lynn. He promised to go old school on these younger kids and show them how it's done. (2) Syxx-Pac defeated Axl Michaels by pinfall in 4:33 to advance in the Cruiser Cup. Michaels was unable to keep up with Syxx, who used veteran maneuvers to keep his opponent at bay before finishing him off with the X-Factor. Jason Dunn vowed to take out Razorblade. (3) Jason Dunn DDQ Sabu in 3:09. This wild brawl was officially thrown out when Razorblade became involved.

(1) Christian York defeated Joey Matthews by pinfall in 6:47 to advance in the Cruiser Cup. Former partners York and Matthews tore it up, showing how familiar they are with each other with a bevy of holds and counters. Eventually, the PWU rivalry between Matthews and Trent Acid spilled into the GWF with Acid's appearance at ringside being enough of a distraction to allow York to nail a Southern Cross Bomb and a Frog Splash for the duke. The Commish came to the ring with a few announcements regarding Hell Night. First, Laser has been named as the replacement for "Hot Stuff" Jimmy Cole. Second, a six man battle royal will be held to determine who will challenge for the Philadelphia Championship. And finally, at the rquest of both men, the GWF will be sanctioning a bout between longtime rivals Bazooka Joe and Dan the Man. (2) Ultimo Dragon defeated Trent Acid by submission in 7:09 to advance in the Cruiser Cup. Again, the PWU feud between Acid and Matthews tainted the outcome of another otherwise good match. Matthews, as quick as lightning, nailed Acid with an enzugiri from the apron sending him faliing backwards into the Dragon Sleeper. A few moments later, Acid had no choice but to tap, giving the legend the win. Madison Wilcox interviewed Trent Acid. Acid said he wouldn't be able to make it to Hell Night, but he challenged Joey Matthews to a match at the next When Worlds Collide. Pre-taped comments aired from both Legend's Champion Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart and challenger Sid Vicious regarding their upcoming encounter at Hell Night. (3) Bulldog won a six-man Battle Royal over Razorblade, Jason Dunn, Sgt. Rex Patterson, Sabu, and Justin Credible in 16:21. Jason Dunn went on a rampage, viciously attacking Sabu with some stiff knees and uppercuts, eventually dumping him to the floor four minutes into the match. Patterson also took a beating from Dunn. However, as Dunn hit Patterson in the corner with a leg lariat, Bulldog was there to continue Dunn's momentum over the top rope, eliminating him about seven minutes in. It took several officials to get Dunn away from ringside after his elimination. Meanwhile, Razorblade eliminated former partner Credible and Patterson hit the floor courtesy of Bulldog. The two remaining wrestlers battled it out, with Bulldog eventually gorilla-pressing Blade to the floor for the duke.

World Heavyweight Champion Z-Man came down to the ring with his valet Mandy. Z-Man talked about being the greatest World Heavyweight Champion ever and how he ended PJ Plush's career. The Commish came out to interrupt the champ's gloating. He chided Z-Man for causing Dawn Marie's injuries and then dumping her for Mandy. For that, Z-Man will meet former ECW stars Yoshihiro Tajiri, Psicosis, and Juventud Guerrera in a non-title handicapped match tonight. The Commish then decided that Z-Man's title defense at Hell Night would be a Hardcore match. (1) Kid Kash defeated Billy Kidman by pinfall in 8:27 to advance in the Cruiser Cup. Kash and Kidman continued their feud in this exciting bout. Unfortunately, the match came to a shady end, as Kash used brass knuckles against Kidman and pinned him after a Brainbuster. Madison Wilcox interviewed Jason Dunn. Dunn said he came to the GWF for new competition and championship glory. He said that his road to gold would start tonight. Kevin Kelly announced that PJ Plush had surgery to take care of some nagging problems in his left leg, which will add to the time he is on the injured list. (2) Jason Dunn defeated Jimmy Chainsaw by pinfall in 3:22. Dunn's intense striking style overwhelmed the hardcore Chainsaw early, and Dunn was able to nail the T3 for a quick win. World Women's Champion Heather Carter came to the ring. She asked the Commish to come out, and he obliged. She asked him if he had found a good opponent for her to defend her title against at Hell Night. The Commish announced that she would be meeting New Orleans native Jazz, which seemed to please Carter. Kevin Kelly and Dusty Daniels announced another When Worlds Collide event would be held in Houston, TX on November 3, 2007, and would primarily feature match-ups in the first round of the Cruiser Cup tournament. (3) World Heavyweight Champion Z-Man (w/ Mandy) defeated Juventud Guerrera, Psichosis, and Yoshihiro Tajiri by pinfall in a Handicapped Match in 10:54. The three cruiserweight standouts handed the champ his ass early in the bout. However, their teamwork soon faded. "Cowboy" Chris Mason ran out and laid Tajiri out with a vicious Lariat on the floor. Later, Guerrera, stilll steamed about his Cruiser Cup loss, turned and blasted Psichosis with an enzugiri before walking out. Z-Man managed to capitalize with a Z-Bomb on Psichosis for the win. |
