Joseph Smith, Sr. & Mary (Graham) Smith

Joseph and Mary's origins began in Ninety Six, South Carolina. Joe was a Farmer. Other family men were brick layers and their accomplishments are still visible in Ninety Six, South Carolina.

Great GrandPa - Joseph Smith, Sr.: Husband to Mary Great Grandma - Mary Smith: Wife to Joseph Smith, Sr.

Mary and Joseph had eight children: Irvin, Joseph Jr., Thomas, Ada, Harriet, Lizzie, Bertha, and Ruby. The Smith's raised their children in Ninety Six, S.C. and remained there until their passing.

Lowery Elder “Irvin” Smith 1893-1944

Irvin took up the trade as a brick layer. It is said that Irvin changed his name to Lowery Elder Smith; however, no supporting documents can be found. Later he and his wife Daisy Dollie “Kelly” Smith migrated to Pennsylvania where they raised their eight children.
