"Someone got lucky last night," AJ said, mocking Nick who came into the studio with a smile that went from ear to ear.
"What did you expect? You fill a girl's room with roses, say the right things, listen, and you're bound to get something in returne" he smirked not noticing Brian and Alexia coming into the room.
"So you got jiggy with it, or can I say Alexia?" AJ laughed lightly.
"No," he responded.
Alexia and Brian stood in silence in the back of the room.
"So why did you say you got lucky?" AJ asked looking at Nick strangely.
"Because I did. She let me kiss her and she opened up herself to me, so you see I did get lucky. I got a glimpse of her soul," Nick smiled, but then was startled by the image he saw in the glass. "Alexia, I didn't know .....I am," Nick started to stutter. She just smiled at him.
Suddenly the door flew open and in came a mass of people led by John.
"So are we ready to record a record-breaking album or what?" he said looking at the four people that were already in the room. They all shook their heads, but John looked uneasy. "Where are Kevin and Howie?" he asked noticing they were missing.
"Did someone call us?" Howie asked as he emerged from the mass of people followed by Kevin.
John sighed in relief. "OK, how about we get started? Brian, you and Alexia go into booth one. Kevin, AJ and Howie, into booth two, and Nick, you just wait here with me for a sec, then you'll join Alexia and Brian," John spoke as people moved around the recording studio, some calmly others like chickens with their heads cut off.
"So here we go," Alexia said sounding a little nervous.
"Don't worry, if you screw up, it will
just cost a couple million dollars, nothing to worry
about," Brian said jokingly trying to
make her feel better. Alexia laughed and rolled her
eyes. "Now that is much better," he said
pointing at her smile. Alexia walked to one of the
microphones and took the large
headphones. "Brian, can I ask you a question?" "Sure,"
he said as he did the same, but in
front of the opposite microphone. "Do you really know
everything about me?" she asked
uneasily. Brian felt uncomfortable and opened his
music folder. "Well, I don't know
everything but I do know a lot," he answered still
looking at the floor. "Wow," Alexia said as
she smiled. "What?" Brian asked looking up. "You know
mostly everything about me, and
you still like me," she smiled at him. "What man in his
right mind would not like you?" Brian
smiled making Alexia blush.
"5.., 4..,3..,2..,1..,
and here we go," the man at the control
panel said as he moved his opened hand to a fist. Nick
sat in a comfy chair in the back of
the room but he made sure he could still see Alexia,
as John listened to her sing in the
speaker. "Wow," he said as he walked to stand next to
John. "She sings like an angel." John
looked at Nick and then back to Brian and Alexia. Just
then, Brian had joined in. "No, angel
could ever reach the high notes like she does," he
said smiling. "Nick, I know about you
and Alexia," he continued as he motioned to the extra
people in the room to leave. "I just
want you to have this clear. You hurt her in anyway, I
will personally look for you, and
then kill you; she has been through enough," he said as
his tone changed from mellow to a
slight touch of anger. Nick was speechless. "I am sorry,
Nick, it's just that I love her as if she
were my daughter and I want the best for her. You
understand, right?" John said calming
down. Nick nodded his head in agreement.
"OK now that was exhausting," Alexia said as she walked
out of the studio with the guys. "So,
Alexia, how about we go for a swim?" AJ said as he
smiled deviously at her. "Sorry, I am too
tired to change." "Then don't," he answered. "OK you
just have to stay a couple feet away
from me," she said laughing. "So really what are we
going to do?" Nick asked calmly. "Well,
you mister are going to bed," she said as she noticed he
could barely walk. "Can I take someone with me?" "Anyone but
me, I have a doctor's
appointment," she said as she took the
keys from him. "AJ, can you take him home? Driving tired
is as or even more dangerous than
drunk driving," Alexia said looking up at him. "Sure, no
prob. OK here buddy," AJ said as he
helped Alexia put Nick in his car. "Call me around seven.
Let's watch a movie or something," Alexia
motioned good bye as she walked to her silver BMW.
"Alexia?" Brian asked softly. "Do you
want me to go with you?" he said as she looked at him.
She smiled. "Sure, I should take
someone with me." With this said, Brian got into the
car. He accidentally kicked her purse and a
bottle of diet pills and other analgesics fell out. He
picked them up and looked at Alexia
strangely. "Why the hell are you taking diet pills?" he
scolded her. "Brian wait, it's not what
you think." "Not what I think! You have pain killers, pills and more medicine in your
handbag," he said as his tone of voice got louder.
"Brian wait, before you judge me, I don't
know if I should tell you." "Tell me what?" "That I
could die any day?" she yelled back
making him drop the bottle. "What??" "Brian, I am sick, and
I have been sick for a long time. I
was born with a very weak immune system, and now I
have to all those pills. They all are for
different reasons. The diet pills are to control my
body weight, not to lose weight. It takes
stress from my body. I would never do anything stupid
like that. Brian, I see the doctor once
every two weeks and they are looking for the cure of
something that I am supposedly the
only one that has." "I am sorry...I didn't know." "No
one knows but Cat, my parents, and my
doctor, and now you," she said smiling. "But you seem
normal." "That means the medicine is
working. Brian, every time I go to the doctor I get
good news. They tell me that I have
more time to live, and they are closer to the cure, but I
also get bad news they don't know how
long for the two other answers," she said as she put
her hand behind his head. "Always
take the good and the bad, cause if not life would be
boring, right?" he smiled at her. "Right."
She hugged him and felt a feeling of relief. "I
promise that I will be with you every step of
the way," Brian said as he kissed Alexia softly on the
cheek. A tear fell down her cheek.
"Thank you." "Let's go or you'll be late," Brian said as
he wiped the tear off her face.
