Sukkot (also transliterated from Hebrew as: Sukkoth, Succoth, Succos, Succot, and Succoth) is one of three major Jewish festivals in the Hebrew/Jewish calendar. Sukkot or Succoth is the third of the three major festivals. Sukkot or Succoth also has many names, each of which describe a theme of the festival. The most popular of these names is the "Feast of Booths". Another popular name is the "Festival of Booths".
The festival of Sukkot or Succoth has significance well beyond its original purpose of being a commemoration of G-ds' protection provided to the Hebrews in the Sinai Desert after their Exodus from Egypt. Sukkot or Succoth exemplifies a timeless lesson not only to Jewish people but to all humanity in unwavering faith in the positive intentions of G-d regardless of one's circumstances. That the answer to one's circumstances is provided by G-d and is ultimately in our best interests. We simply have to focus with intent ("kavvanah" in Hebrew), which prepares us for hearing the answer, whether the answer is in ourselves or in the environment.
