GODDESS SPREAD
From: Carissa
This is a layout that was done using the
new spread Prairie gave us. Go to it
and interpret! The question is this:
I have the opportunity for a great job in Newport.......at the Oregon Coast Aquarium.....we really can't afford the move, but could do it some how............so should (we)stay put, or make some sacrifices and "just do it".........
And now for the layout, which I must admit is QUITE curious. Seven of the thirteen cards are majors. Ooh, shivers! Now, looking at this I might hazard to guess that the shuffling wasn't good...but, um, I shuffle them thoroughly while thinking about the question and then spread them out on a table, mix them up some more, and select the cards, one by one, with whatever "feels" right. Well, with no further ado here goes the reading........
Clotho is the spinner. She tells you
what led up to the problem at hand.
Six of Pentacles
Lachesis is the measurer. She tells you
what the current situation is.
The Fool
Atropos tells us what's in the near
future regarding the situation.
Knight of Swords
Sul tells us what influences are at work
for us.
Three of swords
Luna shows us what
influences are hidden from us
seven of pentacles
Nyx tells us the best course of
action to take in this situation.
The Devil
Arianrhod, the Lady of Caer Aranrhod, is
the place of our hopes and dreams.
The Moon
Erishkegal, as Goddess of the
Underworld, shows us our darkest
fears.
The Star
Athena, the Lady Justice, shows us how
to balance between the two. She also
shows us how other people see the
situation. (In a relationship problem,
She would represent the other person in
the relationship).
Nine of Swords
Corn Mother shows us what our goals
are.
The Chariot
White Buffalo Woman shows us a possible
future
Justice
Spider Woman shows
us another possible future.
Queen of Wands
The card in the middle is the Great
Goddess Herself, who ties eveything
together.
The Magician
From:Bast
My interpretation for Reading #2 with assistance from my personal & private Tarot teacher, Sunraven.
This was a *difficult* reading, not difficult in the sense you might be thinking, but umm... it was a very 'long' process and one that required *each* question/ *each* card to be *fully* interpreted. However, this was very good practice for me.
Seekers question was:
I have the opportunity for a great job in Newport.... at the Oregon Coast Aquarium.....we really can't afford the move, but could do it some how............so should (we)stay put, or make some sacrifices and "just do
it".........
The following cards were placed counter-clockwise with the VI Pentacles in the 9 o'clock position with the I Magician being in the center (13th card).
VI Pentacles
The Fool
Knight of Swords
III Swords
VII Pentacles
The Devil
The Moon
The Star
IX Swords
The Chariot
Justice
Queen of Wands
The Magician
Looking at the Center card first, which is the Magican, it isn't really about the job itself, but living closer to work and also represents the deeper issue and the seeker.
Now, looking at the first 3 cards and what led up to this... She is the one who has a handle on the situation, she can make or break this deal.
There is something about the new job that intriques her and feels that perhaps it will allow her more freedom than she has now, however with the Fool, she's in the process of making her choice, on all levels, therefore she is starting to doubt her own power. If she isn't careful with her choices, her doubt and frustration will escalate and she will end up fighting herself. She needs faith and enthusiasm. Things will be rough for awhile, regardless of what is decided.
She will be presented with opportunities to communicate and get to the heart of the issues. She really needs to communicate, talk things out. With the VII Pentacles, the expenses may exceed her expectations, so she will heed to give herself leeway. If she decides to take this opportunity, it could lead to another opportunity that might even be better.
With XV Materialism, she needs to overcome her fears, she needs to overcome her frustrations and think very clearly because whatever is going on in that moment is trapping her so in order for her to release herself from her fears, she really needs to to think clearly.
Now with the XVIII The Moon, (XVIII The Moon and Arianrhod, the Lady of Caer Aranrhod, is the place of our hopes and dreams.) She wants to find a way to get in touch with her instinctive self anf fulfill those things, her desires, wishes and dreams that she's kept hidden. next card:
XVII The Star Erishkegal, as Goddess of the Underworld, shows us our darkest fears.
Her hopes, dreams and goals might not be achieved. She wants to follow her instincts, but is scared to do so.
With IX Swords, she needs to take a good hard look at things, especially with things that she is not looking at right now... everything has to be reviewed very sincerely.
now, this is where I sorta stopped and looked at III Swords through IX Swords, and to sum it up... (to this point... it is telling me that, she will need to think very very clearly on *all* issues because there is no room for mistakes.
we have VII Chariot, overcoming obstacles and victory... Her goals are to overcome all abstacles and she truly wants victory, she wants to move fast.
next card is XI Justice....White Buffalo Woman shows us a possible
future...
Priairie, can you tell me about the White Buffalo Woman? My interpretation on this is, she'll need to do what is right... she does not have a lot of that 'oomph' from the outside, she has a lot of, 'should I, shouldn't I, What if I go, What will happen?, she has a lot of questions. She needs to do what is right.
Queen of Wands, Spider Woman shows us another possible future.... She could do this. She could take the offer, and if she approaches it from a mental view, rather than a purely emotional one, she could do quite well. She has a desire to be sociable and competive. So, all in all... what I'm gathering from this reading is, she will very likely be successful at whatever she does, so long as she stays true to herself and doesn't let people or things distract her. She must find a way to fully explore and express who she is, whether her family is happy about the idea or not.
So, you can see how difficult this spread was... it was a challenging one and as you all know, I am learning the Tarot professionally by Sunraven. We worked on this for a couple of hours. A lot of the things I've learned, well, actually, everything I've learned here is from Sunraven's help. I had to put this off for a very long time because I have been having *very very *BAD* headaches for the past month*.... so I can only work on this when the headache has *simmered* down.
