Promises to keep......

AFS students and their hosts with advisor Steve Knight
To Winthrop's young people, we
make our deepest and most
solemn promise. We promise
to make your school as safe,
orderly, and responsive as we
can. We promise to do eveything
in our power to guide you into
adulthood with the knowledge,
ethical base, and skills you
need to lead a productive and
worthwhile life.
In return, we ask a promise of
you.
If you are in pain, look for
help. It's there - you only
have to ask for it.
If you are in trouble, look
for guidance. It's all around
you - seek it out.
If you see a fellow student in
trouble, in danger, lost in the
shuffle, come to us - we'll help.
Most important of all, we ask
you, in the name of humanity
and of sanity, never inflict
pain on one another. The
consequences are too great,
whether they result in gunfire
or in the simple destruction of
a young soul. Make the promise -
treat others as you would have
them treat you.
Promise.
