The Five S process is a procedure, more than a procedure a philosophy, designed to organize a website, keep it neat and clean, maintain standardized conditions, and instill the discipline required to enable each website to achieve and maintain a world-class environment. In a philosophic sense, we should all develop websites that reflect the way in which we would like the world around us to be if we could place ourselves within the borders of our browsers. If we could rise from our seats and walk into our monitors and become one with realm of cyberspace, what we like to find? First of all we would to know where we are at all times, we would like know where to find what we are looking for, and we, being logical creatures, would like there to be some kind of order to our existence even if we were mere electrons.

Five S can provide this and so much more if one accepts it as a way of life, the path to Nirvana, the road to Salvation. The process itself is very easy to follow and as you have already surmised consists of five steps. Let us now begin the voyage of discovery and as it has been said many times before, the journey begins with the first step.

- a proper arrangement of the pages and links will do much to further enhance to surfing experience of your guests. Surf a while in their chairs, does the layout make even the faintest bit of logical sense? Does one have to navigate counts pages to reach the ultimate destination or can it be done with one click of the mouse? Does the site appear as if it has just been thrown together or does it appear as if you have taken some time to think about where everything belongs and is everything where it belongs or are there hidden dangers and endless loops that force your guests to flee in terror? Just think about it.

- make the site easy to use for the experienced as well as the novice surfer. Live under the K.I.S.S. principle, (K)EEP (I)T (S)IMPLE, (S)TUPID and not (K)nights (I)n (S)atan's (S)ervice and not (K)nowledge (I)s (S)omething (S)pecial. Simplicity is the second step and overlaps the first much as the second step contains many of the first on the journey of discovery.

- keep cyberspace beautiful and discard all rubbish accordingly. Most Operating Systems (OS's) have a built in "Trash Can" and once you have accepted the fact that it exists, learn to use it and use it well, my children.

- familiarity is a good thing and what could be more warm and comfy than ones home page? A common thread should run throughout the site maybe thread isn't the appropriate term for it. We shall instead refer to it as the "Tree of Site" with each branch being part of the whole, all different yet having the same roots.

- once the philosophy has been implemented, you must self-control enough to keep your site on the Road to Salvation and the lazy shall not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. There is one and one alone who can keep your website pure and that is you.
