SHAFT PERFORMANCE INDEX

Determining the total performance characteristics you require in your golf shaft choice is done by selecting the "Performance Index" options that are consistent with the improvements that you are trying to achieve.

SELECTING YOUR PERFORMANCE INDEX

TRAJECTORY...(Profile) Represents the golf safts' ability to aid in getting the ball airborne. The bend/kick point, along with tip flexibility, influences the launch angle and trjectory. Generally golfers with high club-head speed will benifit the most from high bend/kick points. And vice versa for slower swing speeds.

  LOW-TRAJECTORY   Low bend/kick point
  MID-TRAJECTORY    Mid bend/kick point
  HI-TRAJECTORY   Hi bend/kick point

TORQUE...This is the measure of the shafts' rotational twisting at the tip end. Strong players that apply more stress to the shaft will require shafts with lower torque ratings. Slower swinging players should use the higer torque values to retain the feel and flexability of the shaft.

  LOW-TORQUE   Less than 3.5°
  MODURATE-TORQUE   3.6° to 4.8°
  HIGH-TORQUE   More than 4.9°

WEIGHT...The weight of the golf shaft is the greatest variable to the golf clubs "total weight". It is important to choose a shaft within the weight range that allows you to hit the ball with the greatest realiability. Generally, fast, quick-tempo swings require heavier shafts and smoother-tempo, slower swings require lighter shafts.

  STANDARD WEIGHT  Strong swing & quick tempo
..LIGHT WEIGHT  Average swing & normal tempo
..ULTRA-LIGHT Slower swing-smooth tempo
