Celia and Kirk, two whale boat rowers who went the whole distance. Celia, a former photojournalist and radio host for ABC, now farms 15 acres on the hill above Franklin. Kirk was Capn' Kirk, who taught me everything I need to know about Aussie humor, and plain old humility.

Lucy kept us together with her moxie, her moxa, and an irrepresible laugh.
