Therapeutic Approaches

I see every client as being unique, that their circumstances are different from another person having similar experiences.  Therefore, it seems that treating each client in a unique individualized manner makes the most sense.  The list below includes some of the approaches and techniques I find useful.

I am EMDR trained and provide therapy for trauma, PTSD, health-care professional trauma, anxiety, depression, and addiction/recovery issues. I combine western and eastern philosophies on mindfulness and meditation. For 11 years I worked in a residential substance abuse facility where I also provided M-CBT for addiction, eating disorders and/or gastric by-pass. I recognize that each of you are unique human beings and that life can be difficult and painful. Together we seek your individualized treatment plan. To discover your strengths and to help you get back on track and gain relief from life's burdens.

I have an extensive background in substance abuse treatment and recovery since 2010. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) since 2018 & work with trauma and PTSD, using both standard protocol and Attachment Focused EMDR. I am also trained in MI (2019), CBT(2014), Internal Family Systems (2021) and Clinical Hypnosis (2015).

I am personally familiar with trauma and addiction recovery and the deep personal struggle of what it takes to get sober, develop coping skills and create a new and strong life. My goal is to provide you a supportive, non-judgemental space to share your story, identify uncomfortable emotions and help you make the changes you need to build the life you want.
