Each receives a cash award on stage.

AGE DIVISIONS

Boys and Girls: Baby Miss/Master: 3-12 Months; Mini Miss/Master: 13-24 Months; Tiny Miss/Master: 25-35 Months; Petite Miss/Master: 3-5 Years.
Girls: Junior Miss: 6-8 Years; Pre-teen Miss: 9-12 Years; Teen Miss: 13-15 Years; Debutante Miss: 16-19 Years; Ms. Elite: 20 Years & over

MANDATORY EVENTS

Formal Wear
Girls: 3 Months through 8 Years

Above the knee party/formal dress of choice. Contestant may wear anklets, nylons or hose. The shoes need to be white, clear, or the color of the dress. Make-up and hair MUST be kept age appropriate.
Boys: 3 Months through 5 Years
Suit or tuxedo of choice, color coordinating socks and dress shoes.
Girls: 9 Years through Adult
Full length, age appropriate formal gown of choice. Contestant may wear nylons or hosiery. The shoes need to be clear or the color of the dress. Make-up and hair MUST be kept age appropriate.
All Divisions
No gloves, tights, hats, parasols, canes or props of any kind. Modeling is basic T (Miss America style).
Judging is scored on: Overall appearance, poise, and beauty.

Sportswear
All Divisions

Any outfit of choice with a sports theme (i.e. cheerleader, tennis outfit, baton twirler, baseball player, hockey or football uniform, etc.) Props are encouraged. NO KNIVES, SWORDS OR OTHER SUCH WEAPONS ALLOWED. Modeling can be freestyle/vogue or basic T. Music will be up beat and provided by the pageant.
Judging is scored on: Overall appearance, poise, and personality.

Interview
Ages 3 Years through Adult

White shorts, skorts, jeans or slacks with a black shirt of choice. Matching socks, anklets or hose with white or black flats or tennis shoes. Interviews will be conducted by a panel of judges in a quiet setting with a four minute time limit.
Judging is scored on: Overall appearance, poise, personality & speaking abilities (according to age).

Mandatory - Photo Roster
All Divisions

Each contestant is required to submit a 2x3 wallet size photo (color or B&W and preferably a head shot). The photos will be featured in the 2001 souvenir program book. Photos with copyrights will need a release to be published. A maximum of five sponsors may be listed with the contestant's photo. All program book photos need to be received in our office no later than August 17,2001. There will be a point deduction from contestant's overall score if picture is not received by due date. Each contestant will receive one program book at registration. Additional program books will be available for $5.00 each.

Pizza & Dessert Party
All Divisions

Each contestant and one chaperone are required to attend this event. The exception to this is contestants over the age of 18 are not required to have a chaperone, and contestants under the age of 24 months may share a plate with their chaperone. This year's theme will be "2001 Space Odyssey". Come dressed in your favorite space outfit or costume (space person, astronaut, Star Trek character, etc.) and enjoy a pizza/dessert social and space dance. All outfits/costumes MUST be appropriate and not scary or evil. There will be numerous games, a craft table, and prizes awarded for best contestant outfit/costume, and for best chaperone outfit/costume. Each contestant will receive five game/craft tickets. Additional game/craft tickets will be available at the party for 3/$1.00. Party tickets are $15.00 per person. To ensure an accurate amount of food and beverage for all, any and all pizza & dessert tickets needed for contestant, family and/or friends will need to be reserved and paid for by August 24, 2001. No pizza/dessert tickets will be sold after that date.

Host Hotel
This year's event will be held at the beautiful Sheraton Airport Hotel in Portland, Oregon. If you plan on a stay, contact the hotel as they offer many different room styles and rates to choose from. Don't forget to mention you are with 5 Star Pageant Productions to receive a special group rate. The deadline to receive the group rate is August 7, 2001.

OPTIONAL EVENTS


Talent

Ages 3 Years through Adult

Each contestant will have up to three minutes to present a vocal or variety talent. Talent will be timed and there will be one point deduction from total score for every ten seconds over three minutes. Attire is any age appropriate outfit/costume of choice. Any background music must be on Side A of a queued cassette tape, and it can be the only selection on the tape. No lead vocals are allowed. Label cassette with contestant's name, age division, and the word "talent". Cassette tape needs to be submitted at registration; bring a back-up tape for any rehearsing you may want to do. The pageant will provide a PA system with cassette player, and a hand held microphone and stand, if needed. Only a piano will be provided; no other instrumentation. Each age division will have a gold, silver, and bronze medal winner. One overall winner will receive a trophy, tiara and gift.
Judging is scored on: Talent ability, showmanship, stage presence, personality and appearance.


Contestant's Choice

All Divisions

Each contestant will have a two minute time limit to model their outfit/costume of choice, (i.e. super model, western wear, a bride, 50's wear, Disney character, favorite movie, TV star, etc.). Outfit/costume must be appropriate. Modeling can be freestyle/vogue/basic T, or your style. It is the contestant's choice. For added effect, you may provide your own music and props are encouraged. All music must be on a queued cassette tape. Label cassette tape with contestant's name, age division, and the words "contestant's choice". Tape is to be turned in at pageant registration. Bring a back-up tape for any rehearsing you may want to do. This is an event to have fun with - it is your choice. Each age division will have a gold, silver, and bronze medal winner. One overall winner will receive a trophy, tiara, and gift.
Judging is scored on: Originality, overall appearance, poise and personlity.

Photogenic
All Divisions

At time of registration, each contestant will submit one 8 x 10 color or black and white photo. Photo must be a headshot only and with no banner and/or crown. Photo cannot be part of the portfolio entry. Entry must be labeled on the back with contestant's name, age divison, and the word "photogenic". Each age division will have a gold, silver, and bronze medal winner. One overall winner will receive a trophy, tiara and gift.
Judging is scored on: Photogenic appeal, clarity, and overall appearance.

Portfolio
All Divisions

At time of registration, each contestant will submit a collection of 8 x 10 color and black & white photos in a folio or album. Portfolio must have at least five photos and no more than 15. Photos should be a good variety of head, body, and character shots. There can be no pictures in banners and crowns, and the contestant can be the only individual in the photos. Label portfolio or album with contestant's name, and age division. Each age division will have a gold, silver, and bronze medal winner. One overall winner will receive a trophy, tiara, and gift.
Judging is scored on: Photogenic appeal, overall variety, and appearance.

Print Model
All Divisions

At time of registration, each contestant will submit one 8 x 10 color or black & white photo. Photo must be at least a 3/4 full body (head to at least knees) and cannot be part of the portfolio entry. Entry must be labeled on the back with contestant's name, age division, and the words "print model". Each age division will have a gold, silver, and bronze winner. One overall winner will receive a trophy, tiara, and gift.
Judging is scored on: Photogenic appeal, overall appearance, and print quality.

Each contestant will receive a finalist trophy, a souvenir program book, and a gift bag.

AGES THREE MONTHS THROUGH 35 MONTHS

1--Overall Baby Winner

This award goes to the one overall individual baby who has the highest combined score in all mandatory and optional baby events. Winner will receive a beautiful tiara, three foot trophy, satin embroidered sash, custom robe, gifts, a *cash award, and the title of 2001 Baby Pacific Star.

6--Age Divisional Winners

This award goes to the one individual in each age division with the highest combined score in formal wear and sportswear. Each winner will receive a beautiful tiara (girls), crown (boys), trophy, satin embroidered sash, gifts, and a **savings bond.

AGES THREE YEARS THROUGH ADULT

1--Overall Winner

This award goes to the one overall individual between the ages of three years and 12 years with the highest combined score in all mandatory and optional events. Winner will receive a beautiful crown, five foot trophy, satin embroidered sash, custom robe, gifts, *a cash award, an invitation to attend scheduled appearances throughout their reign, and the title of 2001 Pacific Star.

1--Overall Winner

This award goes to the one overall individual between the ages of 13 years through adult with the highest combined score in all mandatory and optional events. Winner will receive a beautiful crown, five foot trophy, satin embroidered sash, custom robe, gifts, a *cash award, an invitation to attend scheduled appearances throughout their reign, and the title of 2001 Miss Pacific Star.

7--Age Divisional Winners

This award goes to the one individual in each age division with the highest combined score in formal wear, sportswear and interview. Each winner will receive a beautiful crown, four foot trophy, satin embroidered sash, gifts, an invitation to attend scheduled appearances throughout their reign and a **savings bond.







ALL AGE DIVISIONS

1--Overall Ad Sales Winner
This award goes to the one overall individual with the highest dollar amount of ad sales in the sourvenir program book. There must be a minimum of four pages sold to be eligible for this award. Winner will receive a beautiful crown, engraved trophy plaque, satin embroidered sash, gifts, a **savings bond, and the title of 2001 Super Star.

***All savings bonds and part of each cash award will be presented at the 2002 national event.

SOUVENIR PROGRAM BOOK ADVERTISING

Ads, good luck pages, etc. may be sold for the souvenir program book. The one overall contestant selling the highest dollar amount of ad sales with a minimum of four pages will be crowned 2001 Super Star. (See awards page for prize details.) Remind sponsors, friends, and family that all ad sales are tax deductible (as advertising), and that all ads must be camera/copy ready. There will be an additional fee assessed of $20.00 per page for any and all ads that have to be made camera ready. If you have any questions as to what is camera/copy ready, or would like ad examples, please contact the National Office. Deadline for ads and all ad fees is August 24, 2001. Any pictures submitted with ads will be returned at registration.

Full Page Ad --- $50.00
(May include a 5x7 or smaller picture of contestant)

Half Page Ad --- $30.00
(May include a wallet size picture of contestant)

Quarter Page Ad --- $20.00

Business Card --- $10.00

Try A Good Luck Page....
Place a 4x6 or smaller picture of the contestant on a plain piece of white paper. Ask family and friends to sign your "Good Luck" page in BLACK INK and donate $5.00. Get ten signatures and you will have collected the $50.00 fee to pay for your page. There is no limit on the number of "Good Luck" pages you may sell. Remind all signers to be appropriate in their good luck wishes.
