Advisory Boards

Agape Love Corner hosts an Advisory Board for each group of activities at Agape Love Corner. These Advisory Boards keep our Programs, Services and Advisors current with industry trends. The professionals serving on the boards provide feedback on specific industry needs, hiring trends/practices, skill sets, interviewing processes, and volunteer/employment opportunities. The Advisory Boards also provide feedback on the programs Agape Love Corner offers, as well as commentary on the experience they have had hiring Agape Love Corner graduates.

It is our goal to have multiple locations throughout the USA by the year 2009; in each location, there will be full - time program directors providing twenty-four hour supervision.

With years of experience working with substance abuser's, these directors will work closely with a volunteer clinical staff that includes medical doctors, licensed mental health counselors, and psychologists. Group and individual therapy, as well as psychological testing will be available, to assist in the growth of the individuals that come to Agape Love Corner.
We at Agape Love Corner, as Spiritual Counselor's with years of preparation and training, have been inspired by God through the Holy Spirit, to design a program which can't possibly fail. The core of this program is LOVE. There are five different words for various types of love: (Epithumia), (Eros), (Philia), (Storge) and (Agape).

Epithumia: Means a strong desire for something or someone; fulfilling normal physical desires, which encourage us to be fruitful and multiply.

Eros: Allows Cupid to still get the credit for shooting his arrow into unsuspecting hearts causing sensual, erotic messages to abound effecting our human nature.

Philia: Refers to friendship or brotherly love; developed over time, it can bless both parties to the utmost.

Storge: This type of love can best be described as good, old-fashioned family love. That almost indestructible bond between parents and their children.

AGAPE: Giving of yourself without yielding to a "what's in it for me?" attitude best describes this type of love. God specializes in Agape, a devotion that gives whatever is best for others without thought of self-gain. Agape love does just that. It desires to accomplish the best results without thought of cost to self.

Agape Love Corner has found a way to open the closed doors of chemical dependency by sending, at your request, $10.00 out of every $50.00 purchase you make from our ON-LINE GIFT SHOP to a person in prison, county jail, or treatment center, to let them know that someone cares. Also, a portion of the proceeds will be used to help us invest in other locations. This is what we call a "triangle of love." You can buy your wife, husband, brother, or sister a gift, send a financial gift to a friend or loved one in a distressful situation and in the process help in providing other locations all in one act of giving.

Giving is a big part of rehabilitation. Our word for it is "service." Our program is based on care, respect, and service. Our program tells us to "Practice these principles in all our affairs." No matter if it's getting to our meeting early to put on the coffee or giving someone a ride - we are giving of ourselves. We give so that we know we can make a difference. We give so that we can know how to love better. The healing power of rehabilitation is LOVE. As we give Love and kindness to others, we heal. Why? Because people grow by giving kindness and love to others.
Agape Love Corner helps men and women who are struggling in their social and family environments. These struggles are usually due to dysfunctional behavior such as depression, drug or alcohol abuse, antisocial behavior, family conflicts, opposition/defiance, anger management, victim of physical abuse, or legal conflicts. Enrollment will be on a voluntary basis and will be open to anyone regardless of race, color, or religion.
