Teaching English and public speaking to classes of 10 to 15 students. Preparing educational manuals that focus on grammar, vocabulary and etymology, writing styles, the elements of effective communication, and overseeing research and writing assignments. Preparing educational manuals that focus on using the World Wide Web as a vehicle for developing primary and secondary research sources and documentation via footnotes and bibliography. Accomplishments include fostering a love for learning and the joys of academic excellence.

General responsibility is tutoring foreign students in junior high, high school, and college on a weekly basis. Specific tasks include laying a solid foundation in grammar; and teaching effective communication techniques, various writing styles, and public speaking. A forty session Western Cultural Literacy course guides students to the individuals, concepts, movements, and events that shaped and directed the West. Students are assisted in preparing for the Scholastic Aptitude Test, guided through the Occupational Outlook Quarterly, encouraged to plan majors and minors, identify colleges and universities, prepare personal statements and essays for application, prepare resumes, portfolios of accomplishments, and bound writing samples. Accomplishments include developing a successful word-of-mouth service for parents and students who desire to solidify learning skills, consistently earn top grades, enter Advanced Placement course, make the Honor Roll, and go to college with both a plan, direction, and a real sense of self-confidence.
