Close all applications before shutting down PC.
Save often. Do not assume because a file is on your hard drive it is safe.
You should also save your
files on a backup drive (eg. floppy disk).
DON'T OPEN MAIL FROM UNKNOWN
SOURCES,DELETE IT!
IF YOU RECIEVE ATTACHMENTS IN YOUR EMAIL
USE ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE AND SCAN IT FIRST.
