Most San Francisco Residents (including yours truly) would rather be enjoying the city of San Francisco rather than surfing the web, but timing and circumstances don't always cooperate. So reading about San Francisco on the Internet is the next-best thing. But with so many web sites scattered all over the place, it's hard to browse the web without having to wade through lots of useless information. That's why web rings are becoming so popular - pick a subject, find a ring, then start surfing!

So what makes a "Great" San Francisco Web Site?

The question may be better answered with another question: Why would another person half-way around the world want to visit my site? If the answer is they wouldn't, then the site is probably not worth visiting. Here are some brief guidelines to sites that will be added to the ring and their content.

- Pictures, pictures, pictures! The more photos the better.
- Hotels, restaurants, lodging, arts, entertainment, tourist activities
- Shops, services, local business, places to go and things to do in San Francisco.
- City Guides, Bay Area Associations, events, and San Francisco culture
- Stories, celebrity interviews, etc; all the stuff that people like to talk about at dinner
- Local dining sites, clubs, home pages of those in the know
- Information about your hometown is always an interesting read (especially for people from other countries).
