Creatures of every kind have some form of rank whether they are aware of it or not. Monkeys have their tribes and leaders; people have kings, presidents, and popes; lions have kings; and in most mammalian groups there is even a dominant male. Each member of society also has a purpose. Going back to the lions, the lioness is in charge of gathering food for the pride. In earliest days of mankind, women did the same as it is believed that they began farming.
The kallanai are in the same wave of thinking, so it is for this reason that they choose a female as their leader. Without her, they would not be able to survive. Also, most closely related to the first kallanai, her skillfull thinking, reason, and judgement, run true through her veins from her ancestors. The blue kallanai is thus the highest ranking of the species. The golden kallanai is her only match so he becomes the second in command. The rest have duties as follows:
Red: Restorer of life. She can bring life back into the blood of any creature.
Silver: Scout for water. The Kallanai are nothing without the mystic sprays of a waterfall, the silver dragon is born with the best ability to find these precious sparkling waters.
Green & Orange & Brown: Each of these 3 kallanai are experts with the plant kalla. They are the best with remedies for illness and wounds through the power of the kalla. Each using the kalla best in the color of their skin.
Pink: Brings happiness to all. Definitely the peacemaker of the group, the pink kallanai is best used in time of peril and depression.
Aqua: Errors in time. Although the lowest male in the group, the aqua kallanai has one of the greatest power. During times of danger, the aqua kallanai can freeze time for all except the kallanai. To be used only during time of need (such as escape), if ill-used the power vanishes from the user for all of eternity.
Purple: Similar to her closest color, pink, purple kallanai bring hope through small miracles. In time of drought or fire, small rains may shortly pour; or in time of famine, food shall be found. Rarely able to be used, but helpful in times without hope.
