Place of Origin: The Mediterranean region, and also popular in English gardens and
parks.
Method of Extraction: Steam distilled from the leaves and cones. The oil varies from
colourless to yellow and has a pleasant smoky, woody smell with a hint of spice.
Areas where this oil can help:
1. Respiratory problems like asthma
2. Regulating the menstrual cycle
3. Cancer retarding action (but no scientific proof)
Effects on Mind:
- A comforting oil indicated for bereavement.
- Useful for relieving anger, irritability and stress-related conditions.
Effects on Body:
- Relieving menstrual problems, especially PMS and the effects of menopause.
- Excellent for reducing varicose veins and haemorrhoids.
- Helpful for excessive fluid, bleeding, and sweating (especially of the feet).
Effects on Spirit:
- Helpful for coping with change and for finding your soul pathway.
Special Precautions:
- As it helps regulate the menstrual cycle, this means it would be ill-advised to use
during pregnancy.
