UPDATE 3-14-2000 P.M.:
Well folks here we go again.
My bicycle has been continually tampered with
up until this last week as I filed a criminal damage
police report with the Darien Police Department. I have
been getting excessive flats. They mysteriously seem to
occur when I am away from my bike!
The latest were a
series of staple holes. The interesting note is that I
had just thoroughly repaired my tire immediately prior
to the Tuesday night site and arrived with no problems.
Upon leaving the next morning while the bike was stored
inside the shelter I found the tire flat. Upon examination
I noted that the staples had entered the side of the tire!
An unsuccessful attempt was also made to puncture the
bottom of the tire. Same was shown to the police officer.
Since the police report was filed there have been no
flats....interesting! The staple punctures have also
occurred in Naperville and Downers Grove. I may have
thwarted another attempt this morning at the Monday
night site. I have experienced flats at this site also
prior.
Speaking of Downers Grove.
Suddenly I was
converged on while talking to PADS peers and asked what
I was doing. I replied I was
waiting for the washing machines. He ordered me to load
up the machine as they were available. I said fine I did
not see them just open. He got rude and said not another
word out of me as I was asking him for his card. He said
you're out of here. I said do you want my business and
he opened the door and I grabbed my bag and went out. He
stepped out and I said I would sue him for discriminatory
practices not to mention defamation. I let him know I
have been known to take judges to Federal Court. I let
him know who I was, as if he did not know. I was clearly
focused on by him and my fellow PADS persons witnessed
same. I certainly was not treated as a customer should
be treated nor was I treated as the other customers were
treated.
I left the property shortly after and went to a gas
station next door and got the address of another laundromat.
While doing so he had called the Downers Grove Police to
apparently complain. He finished talking and I approached
the officer who handled the other Downers Grove incident
at the train station. He recognized me and read between
the lines and I asked him to make a note of the similar
scenario as at the train station. We left.
Needless to say, I will not do business with people like
this attendant. Nor recommend same to others!
Today while I was working on the Internet a senior PADS peer was having trouble on the word processor. I had told her prior that if she has any problems with the computers to let me know and I will help her as she has been having strange circumstances on same as I have had in the past.
The librarians in my observation are not attuned to the particular problems the senior has been having. They seem to think she must be doing something wrong as they think also of me.
I was approached by the senior and asked for help saving her document as she was not familiar with the Macintosh. She was on the Macintosh because she has been having strange network problems on the PCs. It appears that someone is reviewing her work on the network and due to same she cannot get into her own document at times. * The key tip off is that the document when retrieved comes up as in use and the only way to access it is via the make a copy feature. The Macintosh is not on the network.
I went over to her computer and showed he how to save and eject the disk. She had a full disk and could not save the document to it so she needed another disk. She got another disk and I supervised to make sure she did not run into any other problems.
Sure enough the computer would not save to the new formatted disk. I attempted to exit the save feature but the computer would not even accept the old disk for which it was asking. We tried both disks several times. We could not clear the save mode and thus could not do anything with the document or computer.
The librarian, of whom I have mentioned having problems, wanted to reboot the machine. I said that does not solve the problem. I related that the senior has two hours of work on the document. I asked that she contact the head technician and see if he could help. She wanted me to get out of the way and try it herself. She made me get out of the chair which was not in front of the computer and she stood in front of the computer and tried the disks. She said again that the only thing she could do was reboot the computer.
I said there is a possibility that the computer might recover the document as it has been known to have an auto save feature. I said that it was not guaranteed as it has been also known not to do the auto recovery.
Another librarian had meanwhile called the supervisory librarian and the technician,(IT), and the director.
The librarian rebooted the computer and the upper level
personnel arrived. They were not receptive of my involvement
nor willing to accept my expertise and experience with
computers and my personal experience with this Macintosh.
I related to the group concisely the problem with the
computer and that I mentioned the identical problem
prior a year ago. Nothing was done about it. I said
that if there is a warranty on the unit I will vouch
with the technician as he is the party that I notified
at the time. My offer was not receptively acknowledged.
When I gave the director my credentials he looked up at
the ceiling as if to say "tell me another one"! I said
to him that I resented his response as it was not proper. He told me to move out of the way and sit at my station.
The document had just prior recovered and was printing
for the senior as they had arrived. * The group was trying to ignore my observations and blew me off notably by over talking me especially when I was trying to give context. I was treated as if I did not know what I was talking about and the senior was treated as if she did not properly operate the machine. The fact is that I personally walked her through the process.
The group eventually left and had a meeting for several
minutes just outside the computer room and then left.
I was given a notice that someone else needed the computer
I was on and had to leave approximately thirty minutes
after the group had left. During that last twenty minutes
it appeared that my station had the
slow down put on it
and I could not save my work much less get into any other
URL. No other patron had the problem. Just my station.
I did, in fact, get no further work done after the group
left the area. Stay tuned!!!
Another peculiarity with the Downers Grove Public Library
is that none of the librarians in the computer area and
for the most part in the rest of the library wear name
tags. There is no way to identify them except by time
and description. Sounds like a one way street! It also
sounds like the Dupage County Public Defender's office!
UPDATE 3-15-2000 P.M.:
My Notes on the
Downers Grove Public Library Chronology of computer
failure events on March 14, 2000:
- The Senior did not do anything wrong on the
computer.
- I personally walked her through the document save
scenario.
- The Macintosh was instructed to save the document.
- The Macintosh rejected the save due to a full disk.
- The document was already on the disk but was added to
and enlarged.
- The Macintosh indicated that either the disk was
write protected or full.
- The disk was not write protected.
- The full disk was ejected.
- The new disk was ejected as the Macintosh wanted the
original disk inserted.
- The new disk was reinserted several times with the
same result.
- The old disk was inserted and the Macintosh rejected
it as it did the new disk.
- The rejection of the disk happened several times.
- No other computer functions were available at this
point.
- A librarian checked the system and said she could
do nothing but reboot the Macintosh.
- The users were thought to be suspect.
- I requested that the head technician be called.
- A librarian called for the technician and in fact
called for more than the head technician but also the
supervisory librarian and the director.
- I warned that the document could be lost as it
does not always recover the document after a reboot.
- The computer was rebooted by the librarian with
the hope that the auto save was functioning on the
document making a recovery document possible.
- The computer recovered the document and a print
out was made.
- I pointed out that the librarian could make a save
to the new disk.
- The librarian failed to make a save to the new disk
at this point and cleared the document from memory.
- The disk should have been inserted and accepted by
the computer after the reboot that should have made it
ready for saving of the recovered document.
- The computer was closed out for the next patron.
- The requested technician arrived with the supervisory
librarian and the director while the printer was printing
out the spooled document.
Additional Notes, Thoughts, Commentary and Information:
The Downers Grove Public Library:
- Failed to act on good input notably over the last year
in dealing with the above noted problem.
- Has a fixation with "peons" in their library thus
fomenting discriminatory practices.
- Ignores experiential feedback thus preventing the
genuine improvement of their systems.
- Prefers to antagonize, disrupt, defame, and hamper
those who try to use mandated directives of their
facilities rather than deal with their real problems.
- Fail to realize their personnel are not always astute
in handling problems that arise and that patron input
just might be the solution to immediate and long term
problems and promote user friendly facilities.
-Prefer to snub "peon" input because they have
determined via some "inerrant " source of information
that "peons" cannot possibly be capable of accurate nor
quality input.
- Prefer to make a scene in their facility and rudely
dismiss objective input that just might prevent a
problem from occurring again. Activities that suggest an
attempted coop that is designed to make a legitimate
problem a police matter thus intimidating the source of
feedback thus wasting tax dollars!
- Have been known to tell a patron to go to some other
library rather than deal with their specific problem
maturely, professionally, and impartially: "why don't
you go somewhere else"!
- When I present my credentials of being an electronics
technician for over 20 years dealing with computers
for 12 to 15 years and having a years experience on
their own Macintosh: same is rudely and disgracefully
snubbed, degraded and dismissed. In fact the input I
give as merely a patron user should not be
dismissed as the information is on point!
- Took issue with my helping the senior. They
suggested I interjected my help without invitation.
They in effect told me to mind my own business!
- Apparently prefer to assume that the patron user is
incompetent and does not know what they are talking
about rather than deal with hard facts!
- Want instantaneous response to their demands and
yet ignore their basic mandate. Their basic mandate is
to serve the public so to meet the public's information
needs.
- When equipment that they provide fails to perform to
their expectations they tend to refuse to aid the patron in
their "emergency" scenario with the comment that one is
overdue and the next patron is waiting.
- They find it more important to get the next patron on
the computer than deal with the prior patron's
immediate problem.
- They disrespect the investment in time and information
that the patron has on the computer and rather destroy
their work product often involving hours of time
and effort than properly analyze and solve the problem
and put in a work order to have the equipment problem
resolved so that no one else has the same experience.
- They prefer to suggest that the patron is
disrespecting authority and disturbing the peace rather
than deal with the real problem and that being their
hardware, software, computers and librarians.
- They require a patron to have their "doctorate" in
computers before they accept any information that might
help them.
I have vented these issues with alacrity due to the
fact that I have PATIENTLY and DILIGENTLY explained
the user issues and problems and suggested solutions to
most of the librarians, technicians and director OVER
AND OVER AND OVER again over the past year and their lack of
proper response indicates the input has fallen on deaf
ears or spiteful people! My prior reports show same.
Interestingly the Method of Operation, (M.O.), is
similar to "the man" and company and certain judges in the
Dupage Court House! Is this a psychosis / neurosis
problem on their parts? Or, is this outright willful
and wanton "silent" belligerence in violation of Title
42 Section 1983 et. seq. of the United States Code, an
enforcement of "policy" under the color of faithful
balanced enforcement of the law!
Note:
The Chicago Public Library in a similar scenario of
technocracy was mature, professional and objective
enough to act on good input and
realize that even "peons" are useful and reliable
sources of information and made their library more user
friendly for everyone! See prior reports regarding them

verifying some facts when I get access to the computer
here at Downers Grove Public Library!
UPDATE 4-1-2000 P.M.:
Well folks, this is no April Fool: I have annotated some
of the files in my personal profile pages and other pages
with information that describes the damage that the Hackers
are inflicting on my web sites. As of March 30 much of
the damage that was appearing on the sites abated. Yesterday
I did some extensive upgrades and reprogramming to my
sites and had them running just like a "clock" as of 8:30 P.M.. My links
were perfect as were for the most part the design of the
pages excepting some minor quirks that have not been accounted
for as to the causation.
Well today around the noon hour I have found that the
Hackers are back to their usual criminal damage. My
e-mail link has been distorted to a larger size than I
programmed it (which see). My Updates links have been reprogrammed
so that they do not select the page indicated (which see: Check out the first
four links), and the
links that direct to a specific portion of text have
somehow been reprogrammed so that they do not land on
the text desired.
Specifically speaking, my "Thoughts For The
Times" page lands at the end of the page rather than the
beginning of the page (which see)! Same problem ocurred when
the link url case was changed.
Lines have reappeared in some of
the pages again as prior annotated and fonts have
gotten larger, lighter or bold etc. (Friends see my
Personal Profiles pages where lines extend past links
indicators and the copyright notice details throughout
most of the pages in these sites.)
It is clear that someone likes to cause me much consternation,
waste my time, mentally fatigue me due to this constant
barrage of programming manipulations and give my audience a misrepresentation
of the quality of work that I have been producing. It is
a similar pattern of conduct that some of my electronics
customers were doing to me when in their homes or when
I was going to report back i.e.: some would sabotage the
work that I had already done so when I came back it was
not the way I left it but hard to prove and others would distort my conduct
at their home to look improper often exaggerating my
conduct to look abusive or in excess. Bottom line is I
ended up wasting my time and was not getting paid! And
note this would often foment when I was involved in
legal matters that had deadlines that were not set by
me.
Todays discovery is reminiscent of people who cannot
stand to allow someone to succeed with the talents one
holds but rather, they indulge in devilish acts to make one
to look inept. Certainly same
sabotage is "dirty pool" not to mention the fact that
same conduct by these people violates both State and
Federal laws.
Simply put, I am being denied the right to create my
work, finish it and know that it is done so I can walk
away from it and come back another time and find it the
way I left it and build upon it without rehashing
Other news is still forth coming as my research verifies
certain facts provided this web site interference stops.

Here is another observation hot off the press! Just as
I was closing out this document at 14:42 I was going to
exit the system when I noticed that this file had been
erased! That's right 0 bytes. I immediately restored it
from another source. Fortunately I did not erase it at
the other location at that point.
What does this mean to me? It suggests that whoever is
interfering with my web site is apparently accessing it
at the very time I am! Somehow they are sliding in via
the network while I have it opened up.
They apparently
did not like my latest notations here and thus erased
same again to further fatigue me and frustrate my objectives.
I have suspected this type of interference for some time
as I have noticed files I have saved reverting to the
pre-saved condition when accessed later.
*My procedure to save a file has been
followed up with a viewing afterward so to verify a
correct and successful save. Thus I know that the save
actually is confirmed. The troublemakers apparently have
made a copy of my original file and then over write
my newly saved copy which I observe as a reversion. They
apparently do this right while I am on line or shortly
after I leave as I often have logged off immediately
after a save verification! When I come back the old
copy is found in its place.
So they try all
sorts of little devilish maneuvers. My only immediate
solution is to backup my work as soon as possible in
either hard copy or floppy disc or a hard drive somewhere.
You can see though that much time can be absorbed in
this kind of activity. Sometimes I have had to rely on
instant recall, again a painstaking, time consuming
effort.
UPDATE 4-5-2000 A.M.:
In follow up: I invite my readers to look at other
Angelfire.Com web site pages. Do you
see any aberrations?
I think not. I have not seen any to date! It seems that
for some reason my site is being singled out for special
attentions.
Note that these aberrations often are evidently
occurring internal to the Angelfire System as the programming
I have authored on the Angelfire Editor is being consistently
overridden! The "lines" problems I have been referring to
are probably the best and most obvious example. You can
take the programming for a link request and isolate it from the
entire page and put it into a new empty page and see that
the link language is somehow being misread or reinterpreted
so to cause lines to underscore not just the link but
the content usually that follows the link (which see)! This symptom
has occurred irrespective of the browser used: Netscape
4.0 and above or Explorer 4.0 and above.
Note also that the file erasures (which see), are also either internal
to Angelfire or as I said prior, someone on the network
is intercepting my access to secure files and altering
them while I am on line. These interceptions could be
occurring at the libraries where I am accessing my web
pages or from remote locations that know what web addresses
I am using.
I believe the above acts are most likely but one also
has to take into consideration that someone is privy to
my passwords via monitoring my access at the terminal
or on the network especially when files are altered at
times when I am not editing the web site or on the Internet.
Computer slowdowns happening at the libraries have often
occurred within minutes of times that I have been requested
to sign off and same often hampers logging off systems
as well as saving one's work for a timely compliance
with library requests. The timing has been suspect and
suggests that someone is deliberately trying to cause
a conflict with the librarians or set me up in a ruse
to look like I am not submitting to rules and regulations
and thus disobeying authorities!
The method used could be similar to what Ebay.com and
the other Internet stores complained of in the last few
months. Same you have read about in the newspapers. The
troublemakers simply overload the address, I am working
from or accessing, with "busy work" requests which causes a slowdown
of access or non-access of the sites of which I am
working. Thus my request never or slowly leaves my end or it is
not or slowly allowed at the receiving end or perhaps
both.

UPDATE 4-6-2000 P.M.: "May I suggest you "boys" play with someone else! If you get my drift!!!! You're wasting my time and as the saying goes what goes around comes around or read Matthew 18:1-14 and you should get the point! Look "guys" my programming is correct but you are interfering. You are committing a Felony!!! I just put this programming in an off line editor and viewed it & it is perfect. This insidiousness is going to stop!!!" These "guys" have wasted possibly hundreds of hours of my time in correcting and reprogramming since August. So on it goes.... UPDATE 4-7-2000 P.M.:
It is my opinnion that the surgery performed is on the
Angelfire system or being intercepted. Some how my page is being sent to a
special server or operationg system that has "special"
alterations that causes my web page to become aberrated. This would account for the reason why other
Angelfire web pages are not aberrant.
Another possibility would be that somehow the programming is being done on the Angelfire system so
to cause certain pages to become aberrated as you will
note that not all my pages with links have the line problem or other distortions.
