RUN TO THE SUN '99

| 'Run to the Sun' is probably THE Volkswagen event of the summer. It has been going for over ten years and is possibly the highest attended event in the VW calender, attracting in excess of 10,000people. |
| Every year there is an enormous convoy of cars snaking there way from the South East of England, picking up more cars at every service station which makes it's way down to the surf capital of the UK, Newquay, on the cornish coast for a weekend of fun and frolics. |
| Most people descend on 'Travelgue Caravan Park' at one end of the town for the weekend. Sadly this year I didn't make it but Andy, my friend with a yellow panel van made the journey as did Matt who kindly took these pictures on my behalf. |
| There was a wide variety of cars and buses at the 'Show & Shine' on the sunday which included Ford Pops, big old american gas guzzlers and West Coast style Lowriders. |
| The weather was a bit of a disappointment but it didn't stop the event from being a major success with two of the UK's biggest Dance DJs, Sasha & Digweed highlighting the entertainment on the Sunday night. |
| I was really disappointed not to have been able to have attended this year but by the look of these pictures there where some great looking cars in town that weekend! |
