"You're home early." I said as he walked through the door.
"Yeah, I got off early." he said, kissing me.
"Well, that's great. Now we'll have a little time together before you have to go to class."
"Actually, I don't have to go classes either." he said.
"Awesome! Now we can go to bed TOGETHER tonight, and at a decent time too." I said happily.
"Well..." Taylor began hesitantly, "I had promised Isaac I would ride motorcycles with him."
I just stared at him. "I can't believe you'd rather ride some dumb motorcycle that spend time with me!" I raged. "I only get to spend time with you on the weekends, and now, when you have the evening off, you go and ride motorcycles with your brother!"
Taylor was getting angry too, I could tell. "Damn, Sophia! Listen to yourself, you're being so selfish!" Taylor practically screamed in my face. "When our son was born, I gave up all the time that I used to spend with my brothers so that I could work in order to support Joey."
"Taylor!" I screamed.
"And not only that," he interrupted, "but I sacrificed my band too. For you! And now, when I wanna spend one evening with my brother, you get mad. I've made enough sacrifices lately, and I'm sure as hell not going to give up a chance to spend a few precious hours with my best friend." she sputtered, spitting out the words as if theu were a bad taste in his mouth. "I thought you'd understand...I guess I was wrong."
"Taylor, I sacrificed things too." I yelled back. "I gave up my band too! It was my only escape from my problems and the real world. Now, I don't even have that." I screamed. "And if you're saying this is Joey's fault, you've got another thing coming. I didn't make him by myself."
"Look, I refuse to argue over this anymore." Taylor said. "I'm going to ride motorcycles with Ike, and not you or anyone else is going to stop me."
"But Taylor-" I began.
He interrupted. "Goodbye Sophia. I'll see you when I get back. It should be no later than 11:30. Taylor went into the garage and put on his helmet. Then he cranked his motorcycle and sped down the driveway toward Drew and Isaac's apartment.

After Taylor left, I threw myself on the bed and cried good and hard. I began to reason with myself, realizing that I had been selfish. Taylor saw me everyday, even if it was only for a little while. He rarely saw his brothers; maybe once or twice a week. I felt terrible about what had happened. I needed someone to talk to. I got Joey, hopped into my car, and headed for Jill's. She always knew how to fix problems.

Taylor felt the cool air sting his face like ice. He was having an awesome time, but was still upset about his fight with Sophia.
He and Isaac were speeding down one of Tulsa's back roads, a road that there weren't usually any cars on. Suddenly, a car going wat too fast, came over a small hill ahead of Taylor, just as he was switching to the other side of the road. The last thing he remembered were the bright headlights shining in his eyes.
