CHAPTER TWO
'Dude That Movie ROCKED!’ Dylan Said As We Left The Theatre. I Seen The Girl From Earlier And Waved As We Walked Outside. ‘I Know Eh! We Have To Come Back With Lauren And Taylor! They’d Love It!’ I Watched Dylan Light Up A Ciggarette. ‘Dude I Thought You Quit?’ I Asked. This Was The Only Thing I Dissagreed With Her On. ‘Zac Think Of How Hard It Was For You To Quit! Itz Not Easy! You Of All People Should Know This!’ She Said Putting Her Lighter Back In Her Pocket And Taking A Drag. ‘Yeah You’re Right, Im Sorry!’ I Thought Back To When I Was Quiting. I Had Smoked Secretly For A Year Before I Finally Got The Courage To Tell My Parents. They Were Dissapointed Because I Was Only 13 But They Said They Couldn’t Stop Me, But That They Were Still Dissapointed In Me. I Quit Within 3 Months. We Started Walking Back. ‘That Chick Was Really Nervous Around You Eh?’ Dylan Said Talking Of The Girl From The Snack Bar. ‘Yeah, Well I Guess I Would Be Like That My First Day On The Job If Like, Britney Spears Walked In!’ I Said. Dylan Rolled Her Eyes. ‘News Flash, You’d Have No Chance With Britney! Despite Her Being Almost 4 Years Older Then You, She’s SO Not You’re Type!’ She Knew My ‘Type’ Better Then I Did. And What Scared Me Was, She Was Always Right. ‘Yeah But She’s Still Hot!’ I Said Pretending To Slip Into A Drooling State. Dylan Laughed. ‘You Walkin Me Home Lover Boy?’ She Said Throwing Her Ciggarette Butt On The Ground And Stepping On It. ‘Yeah! Of Course I Am!’ I Said Surprized She Asked. I Walked Her Home Whenever We Were Somewhere Together At Night. I Knew She Could Handle Herself But I Always Feel Better Knowing She’s Home Safe. ‘Good! My Mom Wants To Talk To Ya! So You Gotta Come In For A Few Minutes!’ I Loved Her Accent. We Had Lost Ours From Touring And Being Everywhere. And Despite Dylan Having A Mid-Western Accent Much Like The Rest Of Oklahoma, It Was Different. She Has Family In New York So She’s Always There. She Picks Up That Accent And It Sounds Awesome Mixed With The Other One. ‘No Problem! OH CRAP! I Didn’t Call My Mom!’ I Said Smacking My Head. ‘Itz Alright, You Can Call From My House!’ She Always Had The Answers. We Got There And Went Inside. ‘MOMMA! Im Home!’ She Yelled Closing The Door. I Went Into The Kitchen And Dialed My Number. ‘Mackie What Are You Still Doing Up? Oh Alright, Tell Mom That I Forgot To Call But Im Just At Dylans So I’ll Be Home Soon! Thanks Kiddo! GO TO BED! Bye!’ My Little Brother Is Usually In Bed By 10 On Weekends But He Was Watching A Movie So He Was Aloud To Stay Up. ‘Hey Mrs.Williams!’ I Said As Dylans Mom Walked In The Kitchen. ‘Zac, Im Glad You’re Here!’ How Was South America?’ She Asked Getting A Coffee Cup And Pouring Coffee Into It. ‘It Was Nice! We Got To A Mall One Of The Days!’ I Said For The Second Time Today. ‘Oh Yeah? Were You Guys Mobbed Or Anything?’ She Knew How Everything Went, She Had Seen A Lot Of It. ‘A Little They Were Pretty Understanding Though So Everything Worked Out Good!’ I Said Putting My Hands In My Pockets. ‘That’s Really Good! Well I Wont Keep You Much Longer, I Was Just Wondering If You Could Ask Your Mom If Dylan Could Stay At Your House From The 24th Until The 31st?’ She Said Taking A Drink. ‘No Problem! I’ll Ask Her When I Get Home. Mackie’s Up So Chances Are She Is Too! I Don’t Think She’ll Mind! Dyl’s At Our House Everyday Anyways!’ I Said Playing With The Spare Change In My Right Pocket. ‘Thanks A Lot Zac! Were Going To Jamaica To A Sandles Resort And Its Not Kids Aloud So We Can’t Take Her! So Tell Your Mom Thanks In Advance And I’ll Return The Favor Next Time She Wants To Go With You Guys And She Can Leave The Girls And Mackenzie Here With Me!’ She Smiled. My Mom And Her Always Had Little Deals. ‘Alright! I’ll See You Later Mrs. Williams!’ I Waved As I Walked Out Of The Kitchen. ‘What’d She Want?’ Dylan Asked From Her Spot On The Couch With The Remote In Her Hand. ‘You Might Be Stayin At My House When Your Folks Go Away!’ I Said Standing In The Doorway. ‘Awesome! Member Last Time?’ She Said. Dylan Always Stayed At My House. It Was Never Any Threat Because We Were All Just Friends. Last Time, We Stayed Up For 2 Days Straight Playing Monopoly. ‘Do I? You Better Believe I Still Have That Board Set Up! We Are SO Finishing That Game If You Come!’ Dylan Smiled. ‘Alright! Im Gonna Beat You! You Better Be Prepared To Loose Hanson!’ I Laughed. ‘Yeah Whatever Williams! Im Out! I’ll Call You Tomorrow And You Can Tell Your Mom What Mine Said!’ I Walked Towards The Door. ‘Later Freak!’ She Said As I Walked Out. I Walked Outside And Of Course It Had Started Raining. ‘Great!’ I Said Putting The Flimsy Hood On My Spring Coat Up. I Walked In The House And Taylor Was Just Coming Down The Stairs. ‘Is It Raining?’ He Said Looking Out The Window. ‘No Im Dripping Wet Because I Had A Shower Fully Dressed At Dylans House!’ I Said Taking My Coat And Shoes Off. ‘Ha Ha!’ He Said Walking In The Living Room. ‘Mom And Dad Still Up?’ I Asked His Back. ‘Yeah Dad’s Upstairs And Mom’s In The Garage.’ He Said Sitting Down To Some Schoolwork. I Walked Through The Door To My Mom Who Was Hanging Up Some Memoriblia From The Tour. ‘Hey Mom! Sorry I Didn’t Call From The Movies!’ I Said Closing The Door And Walking Over To Her. ‘Oh Its Alright Zachary! It Happens!’ She Turned To Face Me And Smiled. ‘Hey Mom, Mrs. Williams Was Wondering If Dyl Can Stay Here From The 24th Until The 31st. They’re Going To Jamaica!’ I Said Looking At The Walls. ‘Yeah That’s Not Problem! She’s Always Welcome!’ She Said Tacking Up A Really Good Sign That A Fan Made. ‘Cool! She Said That When You Wanna Come With Us And Don’t Wanna Bring The Girls And Mack That She’ll Take Them For Ya!’ I Walked Over To The Table With Pictures All Laid Out. I Picked Up A Few And Leafed Through Them. ‘Well That Was Nice Of Her!’ She Said Picking Up A Sign That Read, ‘HANSON LIVE! 8:30 TONITE!’ And Tacked It Up. ‘Yeah Well Mom Im Beat So I’m Going To Bed! Night! Love You!’ I Said Starting Towards The Stairs. ‘Night! Love You Too’ I Stepped On The First Stair. ‘Oh Zachary?’ She Said. ‘Yeah Ma?’ I Asked Turning To Face Her. ‘How Was The Movie?’ She Always Wanted To Make Sure We Had Fun. ‘It Was Good! I Met A Really Sweet Fan Who Works At The Snack Bar. I Gave Her An Autograph, She Was Way Too Nice!’ I Said Smiling. ‘Well That’s Good Hunny! I Like When Yawl Meet The Nice Ones! Night Sweetheart!’ She Said Turning Back To The Wall. I Smiled. ‘Night Mom.’
