(T) Nov. 5th, Chuck E. Cheese. Enjoy the new toddler area and the fun games and rides for children of all ages. Eat lunch or just come and play. Tokens can be purchased for the games and rides. Keep your eye out for coupons in Valu Pak that come in the mail each month. Chuck E. Cheese is located on the corner of 71st and Memorial (close to the old Target).
(W) Nov 6th, Safaris Sanctuary. Come experience over 150 animals ranging from exotic
cats to wolves, bears, primates, reptiles and much more. Safaris of Broken Arrow was
created to take-in, love and care for misplaced exotic wildlife of all kinds. We will be
taken on a tour of Safaris where we will be able to see the exotic wildlife and get
close up to the animals in the barnyard and reptile petting areas. The cost is $5.00 for
adults and $3.00 for children ages 3 and up. Children 2 and under are free. If we have a
group of 25 or more, including moms and kids, the cost will only be $3.00 per person.
There are also a few feeding stations for the tigers, bears, goats, etc., where you can
purchase treats for the animals for an additional .50 to $1.00. The sanctuary is located
at 26881 East 58 Street. Take 71st St 5 miles past County Line Road. After you pass Forest
Ridge Country Club on your right, look for Oak Grove Rd on your left and turn here. Take
Oak Grove Rd to 58th St. and turn left. Follow this to Safaris Sanctuary.
(TH) Nov 7th, Moms Night Out at Beaded Sisters. Socialize and visit with other moms,
while you design and make your own jewelry. Use this as an opportunity to get a jump-start
on those Christmas gifts personally made by you. The store is located at 81st and Lewis on
the NE corner behind Mazzios Pizza. Please RSVP to Jeanine Martin by email at

Mervyns.
(TH) Nov. 14th, Varying times, Dough Sculptures. Let your kids make and bake and then
enjoy eating dough sculptures. We need a few volunteers who are willing to host a small
group of 5 or less kids in your home for this activity. You will be provided with
instructions to make or purchase the dough. Call Ellen Huheey at 455-6804 no later than
11/11 to volunteer to host or to say you would like to attend. She will get you placed at
a hostesss home and then provide the hostess with a list of people who will be
coming. Cost = $.50 per child.

(T) Nov. 19th, Food, Facials, and Fun. This months business meeting will be all
about MOM! Julie Tonquest from Victorias Secret Beauty Store will give us a
demonstration on make up application, facials, fragrances and skin care. She will also do
our colors for us. Will we receive free samples and discounts for all that upcoming
holiday shopping. While we are getting our colors and make- up done, we can enjoy some
great food. In honor of Thanksgiving, we will have a potluck brunch. Please bring a dish,
desert, or drinks to share. Food and pampering, what a great way to spend a Tuesday
morning. Located at St. Patricks Episcopal Church on 81st St between Garnett and
Olive.
(F) Nov. 22nd, All Day, Zany Brainy Fundraiser Shopping Day. Please start your holiday
shopping today at Zainy Brainy, 5331 E. 41st Street, located near 41st & Yale, across
from the Promenade Mall. Just tell the checker that you are making a purchase to benefit
Moms Club of Broken Arrow & the store will DONATE 10% of the purchase straight to our
club!!! Additionally, we are allowed to man the wrapping booth at no cost to us. PLEASE
CALL JANEL, 252-0608, to volunteer for a 2 hr. shift between 3 p.m. & 9 p.m. to help
out! ZAINY BRAINY will provide everything we need to wrap presents & we KEEP THE TIPS

(T) Nov. 26th, Make It Crafty. Check out this brand new store where your kids can make the
mess, but you dont have to clean it up. The store offers various crafts such as
painting ceramics or woodwork, beading, wreath making, and many more with prices as low as
50 cents per project. Let your kids make some fun handmade gifts for all of those
grandparents. Located at the NW corner of 81st and 145th.

August Activities
August 5th, Haikey Creek Park Day and Babysitting Co-op. Come join us at this wonderful park with new play equipment for both the smaller and bigger kids. It is located at 121st and Garnett. The Babysitting co-op meeting will take place immediately after this event. August 7th, Blue Bell Creameries Tour. Back by popular demand! Come take a break from the heat and let the kids go behind the scenes to see how ice cream is made. They will also receive a complimentary scoop of ice cream at the in-house ice cream shop after the tour. There is now a nominal fee for the tour and ice cream children 5 and under are free, children 6-18 are $1.00 and adults are $2.00. Please RSVP to Kristen at 250-6675 by August 5th. Blue Bell is located at 8201 E Hwy 51. Take the BA Expressway East to the 81st St exit, go through the light and the entrance is on your left. Please park on the service road and meet outside the brown building. August 8th, ABC Music for Kidz. Come experience this super neat class. They offer playful and creative music and movement classes for kids of all ages. This will be a free demonstration class and is limited to a maximum of 15 children so it is absolutely necessary to RSVP to get signed up for the class. Call Kristen at 250-6675 to get your kids on the class list. The class will be held at Miss Kealeys Dance Studio, 8988E S. Sheridan (Chimney Point Shopping Center at 91st and Sheridan). August 9th, Craft Day. Come participate in the last craft of the summer. This one is going to be a surprise! Leisure Park is located on Elm between 101st and 111th, close to Braums. Make a right on Charleston (the street that runs between Braums and the apartment complex) and the park is about a block west on your left. August 12th, Pediatric Dentist Tour. James Owens, DDS has graciously offered us a tour of his dentist office. Help your children overcome the anxiety that usually accompanies a visit to the dentist. This will give them a chance to see the office, dental chairs, etc. The staff will also answer some of the common questions asked by mothers. Such as, when should my child first see a dentist, what are the signs of a cavity, etc. At the end of the tour, the kids will get a goodie bag full of toothbrushes and other surprises. To ensure every child gets a goodie bag, please RSVP to Kim Tonquest by August 8th at 251-1402. Located at 425 W Washington St (91st between Elm and Main). August 14th, Moto Photo. Bring your children to Moto Photo and get a free digital picture and Kids Owner Manual Software. This photo and software can be downloaded onto your home computer and can hold all the current medical, and emergency information on your child. This program was designed to give you organized information that you can provide the police in case of a lost child or emergency. In order to make sure they have enough copies of the software for our group, please RSVP to Kim Tonquest by August 12th, at 251-1402. August 15th, Moms Night Out Pool Party. Beth Johnson has offered to host a Moms Night Out at her home. This will be a fun, relaxed time for us to get to spend some time with the other moms in the club. Everyone is welcome to bring their suits and swim, or just hang around the pool and chat. There will also be other fun activities planned. Please bring a finger food snack to share and RSVP to Beth Johnson at 249-1217 for directions to her home in Pembrook Park. Thanks Beth!!! August 20th, Business Meeting featuring Sooner Start. Sooner Start is a non-profit agency that specializes in the development of infants and preschoolers. They will make us aware of important developmental milestones, activities to promote learning, and answer any questions we have on our childrens development. The meeting will be held at St. Patricks Episcopal Church on 81st St between Olive and Garnett. August 21st, Hunter Park Water Spray. Bring the kids in their swimsuits and cool off in the water spray area and also enjoy the playground equipment. Aqua shoes, sandals, or any shoes that can get wet are recommended the spray area can get slick. Located on 91st St between Sheridan and Yale. August 27th, HeritageLand Park (Volunteering and Gardening). The HeritageLand Park Committee has asked our help to make the park a more beautiful place by expanding the flowerbed. They are not publicly funded and rely on volunteers and donations to survive. We will be assigned a space that we can plant our own garden. We will be planning our planting. This should be a fun activity and a great way to teach our children about giving back to the community! Please contact Kim Tonquest if you have any questions at 251-1402. August 28th, Storytime at South Broken Arrow Library. The Childrens Librarian will be reading our children a story and then giving the children an opportunity to check out some library books. If you have never visited to this great library, here is your chance. It is located on 101st St between Olive and Aspen. For the month of August, if it is raining on the day an outside activity is scheduled, we will meet at the Burger King inside play area located at 81st and 169. Note: There are 5 different RSVPs this month, so please try to RSVP to the activities you would like to participate in by the deadline listed in each of the 5 activity descriptions. Some have limits on the number of children who can attend, so RSVP early. Thanks!
July Activities
July 3rd, Fourth of July Parade at The Parke Retirement Center. Bring the kids to participate in a "parade" for the residents at The Parke. The bigger kids can bring their cars, bikes, scooters, etc and the younger kids can ride in their strollers or just walk. We will ride through the courtyard and can dress the children in red, white and blue and bring American flags to wave or attach to the strollers and bikes. You may also bring cookies or other treats to pass out to the residents during the "parade" or after. This is a great opportunity to reach out to the community and let the residents enjoy our children. You can also bring sidewalk chalk and bubbles. The Parke is located at 7821 E. 76th St. (from 71st and Memorial, go south to 76th street then make a right and the Center will be on your right). If it is raining on this day, we will move the parade inside, but will still have the activity.
July 4th, HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!
July 9th, Daylight Donuts Tour. This is going to be fun! The tour will consist of eight children at a time going behind the scenes and making their own donuts that they can eat for FREE!. The tour will take about 15 minutes and there is a place to sit, eat and socialize while taking turns on the tour. Moms will have to purchase their own treats and drinks ($.79-$1.30). Daylight Donuts is located at the corner of S. Mingo and 71st (close to Anchor Paints) in the East Pointe Shopping Plaza. Thanks, Janel for setting this up!

July 11th, MOMS Night Out at The Chalkboard Restaurant. Treat yourself to an evening at this great restaurant in Downtown Tulsa. The dress is business casual. The cost of the dinners range from $15.00-$20.00. It is located at 14th and Main in the Ambassador Hotel. If you would like to carpool, you can meet at 6:00 PM in the parking lot of the old Homeland Grocery Store at 81st and 145th . July 15th, LaFortune Park Day and Babysitting Co-op meeting. Located at 61st and Yale, this park has wonderful new play equipment. Lets meet at the smaller of the two play areas, and feel free to bring a lunch. The Babysitting Co-op Meeting will take place immediately after this event. Come meet with Katherine Jury, our Babysitting Coop Coordinator, meet your fellow moms who want to participate, get your babysitting coupons, and start taking advantage!!!
July 16th, MOMS Club Business Meeting: SHOP TILL YOU DROP! Come and enjoy shopping and socializing. We are offering the opportunity for our moms that have a home business to strut their stuff. After a short meeting, you can shop and see what everyone has to offer. Child-care will be provided or your children can help you shop and pick out items (especially the clothes and toys being displayed). If you have a business or craft that you would like to display, please contact Kim Tonquest at 251-1402 before July 15. The cost for each display is $5.00 for members and $8.00 for non-members.
July 17th, RCB Bank Tour. What a great opportunity for the kids to learn what a bank is all about. The kids will get to go on a tour of the bank, including the vault area. The bank is also providing the children with snacks, drinks and gifts. Each child will even receive a $1.00 coin for coming. RCB Bank is located at 71st and Garnett. July 23rd, Bumper Bowling. The kids will love the chance to bowl without ever getting a gutter ball. We have received a group discount of only $2.00 per game, which includes shoe rental. Moms can play for this price too, or just help the little ones. The event will be held at Sheridan Lanes located at 31st and Sheridan.
July 25th, Swimming at Forest Ridge Pool. Come visit this wonderful pool that also has a baby pool for the little ones. Take 71st street East (all the way past 241st E. Ave.) you will see the country club on your right. Enter the main gate then follow the signs to the pool at 7751 E. Freeport. Admission is $3.00 per person and kids under 2 get in free. There are tables to eat at and vending machines available, and feel free to bring your lunch.
July 30th, Summer Crafts. Well be doing some crafts with a summer beach theme. One craft will be to make a beach in a bottle in baby food jars. If you can find a small plastic jar the size of a baby food jar with a tight-fitting lid (many off-brand spice jars are made of plastic), bring it to use. It will be held at Leisure Park. See specific directions from the July 1st activity. Thanks Ellen for this great craft!
July 31st, Stroller Skating. Bring the younger kids in the strollers and the bigger kids can skate. This is a special skate time where strollers are welcome on the rink. You may also choose to just push the stroller without any skates on at all. If your children have their own skates or roller blades, you may bring those too. The cost for this event is $2.25 for skaters. You only have to pay for those skating. This is located at the Tulsa Skate Center, 107th and Memorial.

June 2nd, Oklahoma Aquarium's Water On Wheels Exhibit. A neat opportunity to let your children experience OK Aquarium's interactive programs, arts and crafts, touch tanks with live animals, snacks and more. This is a community event, sponsored by the OK Aquarium and Temple Israel. We are not going to try to meet as a group, but we thought it was a worthy event to put on the calendar. In Miller Auditorium at Temple Israel, located at 21st and Utica. Call Ellen Huheey for more info at 455-6804. The tickets are $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for kids 4-12, and children 3 and under are free, if purchased by 5/24. You can also purchase tickets at the door, but they are a bit more expensive.
June 4th, Makin' Scents. Come check out this neat candle store where you and your child can make your very own candles. The candle wax is similar to doing sand art candles, so it is safe for your children to use. The candle prices start at just $2.50. This is a great place to let your child make dad a gift for Father's Day. They are located between 21st and 31st on Memorial. RSVP to Kristen by noon on June 3rd at 250-6675.

June 8th, Butterfly Walk. This event is free and open to the public. (Bring $1.00 per vehicle to get into Mohawk Park). We added this to the calendar because our crafts and story with Ellen later this month are centered on butterflies. The area we will be walking is stroller accessible. Bring the whole family and look for our blue banner in the parking lot. Join us around 9:15 or so for bagels and donuts in the parking lot before the walk begins. It will be held at Oxley Nature Center (in Mohawk Park, next to the Tulsa Zoo, 5701 E 36th Street North).
June 9th, Tulsa Drillers Game. Molly Lock has graciously offered us free tickets to the Tulsa Drillers Game on June 9th. This would be a great time for the dads to take the kids to an event, for free! Please contact Molly at 357-5453 to get your tickets. There are a limited number of free tickets, so call early. The Tulsa Drillers are located at 4802 E 15th Street. Thanks Molly!
June 11th, Father's Day T-Shirts. Bring a washed (no fabric softener) t-shirt in Dad's size and we'll make a gift he will keep forever. There will be several different ideas of what to put on the shirt and most will involve adding the kids' handprints or footprints. We'll have some buckets of water to wash up but you may want to bring some extra wipes also. Meet us at Morrow Ridge Park (from 61st and Lynn Lane, go north to Dover Street and make a right, then another right at the first stop sign).

June 20th, MOMS Night Out Annual Banquet. Emperor's Super Buffet Chinese Restaurant located at 71st and Memorial (by Chuck E. Cheese's). June 25th, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". Meet us at Morrow Ridge Park (see directions from June 11th) to read this entertaining children's story by Eric Carle. After reading the story, we'll do some related crafts and activities. Don't forget to join us at the zoo to see the real butterflies on the 27th!
June 27th, Zoo Day (Butterfly Exhibit). The kids will love the butterfly exhibit, where they can watch a butterfly come out of its chrysalis, have butterflies land on their hand and much more. This is a great follow-up to the story and crafts on the 25th. Let's all meet at the entrance bridge. Admission fees are $5.00 for adults, $2.00 for children 3-11, 2 and under are free. Bring lunch or money for the snack bar and we can enjoy a picnic by the playground. The zoo is located at Mohawk Park, 5701 E 36th Street North (near Sheridan).
May Activities
May 1, Feed the Ducks at Rhema Bible College Park, Bring out your old bread or crackers (or stop by the discount bakery and pick some up cheap) and join us at Rhema Bible Church located on 71st between Olive and Elm. Meet at the fountain and we can let the kids feed the ducks then enjoy a walk along the path that goes through the beautiful park and gardens.
May 7, ABC Music for Kidz, If you missed this in March, here is your second chance to come experience ABC Music for Kidz! They offer playful and creative music and movement classes for kids ages 0-6 years. The response in March was overwhelmingly positive. This will be a free demonstration class and is limited to a maximum of 12 kids so it is absolutely necessary to RSVP to get signed up for the class. May 9th, Mothers Day crafts with Ellen, Let your kids come and enjoy making several different crafts for Mothers Day. Ellen has generously offered to share her expertise in this area with you and your children. She has some WONDERFUL crafts planned, along with some special Mothers Day songs to share too. It is essential that you RSVP, as the class is limited to the first ten moms who sign up. The crafts will cost $1.00 per project to cover the cost for supplies. May 11th, Rooster Day Parade, What a great experience for our children to be part of a parade. All MOMS Club members, spouses and children are welcome to participate even if you havent had a chance to be in on the planning. We will not have a float this time, but will be walking with or strolling our kids and hopefully have a banner to introduce our group. On parade day, we will meet in the rear parking lot of the First United Methodist Church on Main Street at 9:30 am. The planning day is April 30th at Morrow Ridge Park (on your April calendar). The theme is roosters, so be thinking of ways for us to dress the kids, ie feathers, red clothes, or ways to spruce up strollers and wagons. For more information, call Shari Wilkins at 355-5763.
May 14th, Arboretum (tree garden) at Woodward Park, A Tulsa Treasure, we are in for a treat. We are going on a guided tour of the Arboretum at Woodward Park. The guide will introduce the children (on their level) to many different kinds of trees, leaves and many other treasures of nature. The kids will get a chance to use many of their senses, like touching the bark of the trees, listening to the birds sing, seeing the beautiful tree garden and smelling the glorious scent of the roses in the huge rose garden. Pack a snack or lunch and we can sit down at one of the many picnic areas and enjoy the park together. Woodward Park is located at 21st and Peoria.
May 15th, Haikey Creek Park, Lets try this park one more time. The last two times we scheduled to meet here, the weather was dreadful. This equipment is brand new and is for big and little kids. There is also a great sand area, so bring those sand toys, and a folding chair, as there are no benches to sit on near the park. The park is located at 121st and Garnett.
May 15th, Babysitting Co-op Meeting, Would you like to find safe, convenient, FREE babysitting and also find new playmates for your children? If so, come discover the MOMS Club Babysitting Co-op and how it can work for you! This meeting will be held during the Haikey Creek Park activity.
May 16th, Ballys Fitness, Pilates and Yoga Class Combo, Janel has set up this great opportunity for us. We are invited to attend a pilates and yoga class just for MOMS Club members, and even better, there will be free on-site childcare provided. May 21st, MOMS Club Business Meeting, At St. Patricks Episcopal Church, 4250 W. Houston (on 81st St. between Olive and Garnett). Please join us as we welcome Cindy Helberg, owner of Reading for Kids! This is a childrens bookstore and tutoring service. Cindy will be discussing how to teach our children to read and the basics needed to become a successful reader. Cindy has been in the education profession for 20 years and was a teacher in the Broken Arrow Public School System for 9 years. She also has experience teaching those with learning disabilities such as dyslexia. She will be completing her doctorate shortly.
May 23rd, Moms Night Out, The Peach House, Lets all enjoy a night out at the famous Peach House Restaurant in Broken Arrow. The dinners cost $13.00 and up, but include, the entrée, drink, salad, potato and their famous peach cobbler with ice cream for dessert. From what I have heard, it is very much worth the money spent. The restaurant is located at 12500 South 129th E Ave. Please RSVP by May 21st to Julie at 451-6690 if you plan to attend.
May 28th, Fire Station Tour, Bring the kids to meet the firemen, tour the fire station, climb on the fire trucks and learn important fire safety tips. The fire station is located at 120 West Kenosha (71st and Main).
May 29th, Play-Doh fun at Glade Crossing Park, Everyone bring a container of Play-Doh to share (bought or homemade), a plastic covered table cloth if you have one, and some cookie cutters, rollers, etc. We will cover the tables and let the kids go at it. The park is located in the Glade Crossing subdivision on 71st between Garnett and 129th. Pull into the subdivision off of 71st and park on either side of the street (just past the fountains). We will meet in the front of the park and then cross the bridge together into the big park.
