Hey, remember a while back, when Jessica told me she was engaged to Mike? And that she thought she was pregnant? She called me today, to tell me that she wasn't pregnant and that the ring Mike gave her isn't an engagement ring, but it's a promise ring! Of course, I couldn't find out the whole scoop, she called to ask Zac if he'd come to her high-school and D.J a dance they were having. However, Zac turned down the chance, but Taylor quickly picked it up. The past three days he's been with Jessica, they're trying to pick out some 'hot' songs. Taylor even, against Jessie's request, refused to play any Hanson songs, unless they were dedicated out to someone. Crazy? Totally! And you can't believe how I've been trying to tell him about how Becca has my novels. I even went to the office today, to see if I could recognize the voice of the guy who called me, but nothing worked. I even sent December in, but she couldn't find anything out, seeing Becca was her mother and all. Now, as I ride down North Main St. in center Tulsa, I can't find anything to waste my day on.
"I'm sorry I couldn't help you out today Mandy, I really tried." December said, she was sitting next to me, in the passenger side of my car. I just bought this VW bug, its the 2000 model, with 2003 updates in side! Classic huh? And to make it even better, it's pastel green and has no roof, its a convertible. Price-less. The classic Mandy Moore Bug. Typically. Anyway, I was so shaky about how to tell Taylor, I cried last night. What happens if I don't give in? What happens if Becca decides to publish my stories anyway? He'll get wind about them, about the reviews, and everyone will think I don't love him. How can I let that happen? "Mandy?" December questioned, looking at me, her voice breaking my thoughts.
"Sorry, I was thinking."
"You really shouldn't do that, you might pop a brain-cell or something." Dee laughed, nudging me with her hand. I looked at her, funny.
"Yea, can't have me doing that now can we?" I snickered, reaching a hand toward the radio and turning up the song. It was a song by the long-time teen heartthrob sex symbol, Enrique Iglesias. My eyes glued to the volume button, and I found myself focusing on the words of the song, Be with you. I tried to block out December's singing, and I knew this song was getting to me. "Change it." I heard myself whisper, my eyes finally prying themselves away from the radio.
"Why?"
"Just do it."
"Fine," Dee said, switching the station, "Ohh, Jessica Simpson." she laughed, it was another song that was out to haunt me. Where you are. Oh goodness, I can't take this, I thought as I leaned over and turned it off. "What's wrong with you?" my friend asked me. I watched her lean over and turn it back up, but to a higher level.
"I don't know." I admitted, stopping at a red-light.
"This song is your song, isn't it?," December giggled, "C'mon, snap out of it, let's go shopping, turn here." And so I did. God, what a day.

Zac stepped into the room, the house was almost empty, except for the fact that Davey was in the shower. He could smell her body-wash through out the house and the scent made him sigh in pure agony. He wished she wasn't so beautiful, he wished she wasn't so perfect. After everything that has gone on in his life, he always prayed he would find a women who was sweet, kind, caring, beautiful, intelligent, and unique, he prayed he would find someone that could give Taylor what I gave him. Sighing, he plopped down on the couch, the heat intense, the A.C hasn't kicked on yet. It was a lazy day, and all he wanted to do was sit around and decode himself. Davey is beautiful, inside and out, so why is he so afraid? Why is it when she lays in his arms, his body trembles and he can't feel himself think? Everything on earth seems to crystallize around them, her breath lingering over his lips, causing him breath to freeze in his throat and his lips to shiver. It feels so good, but how come he feels so queasy when he's not with her? Everyone always said that when your in love, you'll never feel alone, but is it possible to be in love with someone who you've met less then a month ago? He was confused, he needed help. His thoughts lingered over which brother to call, what questions to ask, and how did they know for sure, as he reached for the cord-less telephone. He dialed Isaac, seeing he was older and more experienced then Taylor was.
"Ike?" he questioned, after hearing the phone pick up after the first ring.
"Hm? You okay?" Ike replied, realizing it now that when Zac called he may have wanted something. Or needed something. It was a second nature to Isaac now, it no longer irritated him.
"I need your advice," he sighed, listening to hear if the shower was still on. "On girls."
"Again?" his brother laughed. Hey, he may live in a total different house, all by himself, but he felt as if he was still watching over his brothers. "What now Zac? What happened with Davey?"
"Nothing happened, I've been thinking a lot lately."
"Don't do that, you might strain yourself."
"Heh, funny man today, aren't we?" Zac snickered, getting up and walking toward the Air Conditioner.
"What do you want to know?"
"I'm confused as ever, worse then before. Do you remember Alyson?"
"Yea, why, did you see her?" Isaac asked, leaning back and relaxing in his leather recliner.
"No, but you remember if I was in love with her?"
"Yep." Why does he linger on the past, Isaac laughed. What does this have to do with Alyson, why was he bringing her up now?
"I feel weird now, with Davey. I can't seem to feel the same way I did when I was with Alyson, its new to me. I mean, I don't know." he sighed, turning on the Air Conditioner and gazing out the window.

Davey toweled her wet hair and let it fall over her bare shoulders. She stepped out of the bathroom, hearing Zac downstairs. She hadn't heard the phone ring, and she decided that he must be talking to the Air Conditioner guy, seeing he wasn't handy with electric things. She walked toward the bedroom, reaching down for a brush and running it roughly through her snarly hair. She stood in front of her closet, looking for something to wear. Today was a day that was too hot to be even dressed, she wanted to mug around and just laze on the couch with Zac. Hmm, Zac, she thought, he's so cute. She laughed, reached up on the rack and pulling off a tight red strap-less tank top. She stepped close to her dresser and pulled out a pair of white shorts. The ones with the blue flowers embroidered on the back pockets. She dropped the towel to the floor and quickly got dressed and then spent two minutes spraying herself with green apple scent. Quietly, after putting lip gloss on her lips, she tip-toed downstairs. She wanted to show Zac that she was up for any challenge he was to throw her way, especially today, she was planning on telling him, I love you.
"So your saying you don't love Davey?" Isaac asked, confused as well as his brother.
"No," Zac paused, gazing, once again, outside, "I'm saying, that for so long I thought I was in love with Alyson and that I would never feel that way again, not after what happened. But now,...," he trailed off, hearing silence throughout the house. She's out of the shower, keep it down.
"But now? Continue," Ike laughed, urging his brother on.
"I think I'm in love with her."

Davey smiled, her body radiating with happiness as she stepped into the living room. She watched Zac's gaze linger outside, he seemed so alone and peaceful in his thought of mind. "Zac," she whispered, stepping further into the room, "honey." Zac turned around, amazed. She heard it all.
"How did I know that was going to happen!" Isaac laughed, listening to Davey to see what she'd say next.
"Shh," Zac scolded his brother, looking over Davey. She looked amazing, that shower after-glow was amazing on her, along with the way her eyes were prancing with sparkles when she stepped up against him. "I was just talking to Ike."
"Mm, I know, but I don't care about that."
"Oh thanks," Ike laughed, hearing Davey, "I'm gonna let you go Zac, I think you understand it now. That feeling in the pit of your stomach, it's telling you, you know what your feeling. Call me later." he hung up. Zac smiled, bringing the phone away from his ear and tossing onto the leather couch.
"I just needed to talk to him about something." Zac said, trying to cover himself. His body was trembling against her and he thought he was going to barf all over her, his stomach tossing.
"I love you." Davey said as she slipped her arms around him, hugging him close, gazing up into his face. "I was going to tell you today." she admitted.
"I was so confused about it, but I," he trailed off, leaning down and kissing Davey hard on the mouth. His knees felt weak and when he felt her tongue trace the outline of his lips he thought for sure he was going to fall. He pulled away, still tasting her on his mouth, "I love you Davey."
"I know." she replied, taking his hands and placing them in her back pockets and smiling. "I believe me Zac, I know." she leaned up, her fingers running along the rim of his jeans as she brushed her mouth onto his, teasing him slowly.
