Like a firefly you caught my eye
Amazed, like a child, at your wonder
You flew so close and I reached out
Wrapped my fingers around your soft glow
So pleased at what I had caught
Not wanting to ever set you free
I let everyone peak inside my fist
To get a glimpse of my prize
Then I missed seeing your light
So I opened up my hand
And you were gone
You had slipped away while I was running about
Or maybe I never really caught you
Disappointed, like a child, at my loss
I sit and watch the sky for your glow
