"A Solitary Wittan"
A solitary wittan,with a Celtic background,I don't do much in the way of "ritual". My focus is more on living my beliefs.To me there is not a "time" to use magick or ritual.Magick runs deep through everyday life. The magickal and the mudane are one.The spiritual and the physical were never meant to be separate aspects.It seems to me that our journey here is meant to be an opportunity to reunite the physical and spiritual. To see the magick, the spiritual in everyone and in everything is a step toward both inner and outer peace. When you see the divine in all life and use that knowledge in everything you do,your life becomes filled with magick. You raise your vibrational energies and bring to yourself what you need to assist you on your spiritual quest.You also effect all others that you encounter on your journey.
If we maintain an awareness that all our actions,words and thoughts can have either a positive or negative affect on our world wouldn't we choose the positive path?
SPIRITUAL EVOLUTION A lot of us have spent most of our lifetimes in a deep sense of restlessness. We have been looking for answers to questions that burn in our minds and hearts. These questions have not been easy ones. They are the same questions that humans have been asking through out the centuries. Neither religion nor science has been able to give us the answers and they never will. Both have information that is valuable and helpful but neither is whole in and of themselves. There is no one correct answer or path to true knowledge. Each individual soul is on its own unique journey.
People go through life trying to accumulate power.Unfortunately they try to empower
themselves by trying to get power over others instead of power over themselves.
This is the root cause of violence in all of it's ugly forms.(to be cont.)
THE RING OF NINE MAIDENS
The Ring of Nine Maidens is a group of nine natural
laws that pertain to wicca specifically and to life in general.
The nine maidens go a long way in explaining the how and why's of magickal work.
Knowing and understanding how these laws work help fine tune your Witchy abilities.
I have found these laws in many places and in many forms. Here in this section you will find my version and take on these laws, which can be found in many good books on Wicca.
The Law of Requests
Making request three times activates the three levels of the mind. Beta- which is the alert, everyday consciousnes we use to function in our everyday lives. Alpha- is the subtle,meditative, receptive and subconscious mind. The third level is Theta, which is universal consciousness or soul force.
The Law of Abundance
Again, what you put out there is what you will recieve.What you create, you will live.To have prosperity, be giving,generous and skillful in the use of prosperity.If you are miserly in sharing your abundance then what you will experience is abundant greed,in yourself and others. If you are a spendthrift then you will experience abundant need. Be not wasteful
The Law of Cause and Effect
For every action there is a reaction but not an equal and opposite one. What goes around truly does come around but also through. Be selective about what you choose to create and what you send to others. Imagery is the crafting of the mind and consciousness. Activated images are actions. Keep images and intentions and actions clearly connected to your truths.
The Law of Polarities
There must be a dynamic relationship within the individual who works with natural elements. The yin and yang in balance Yin - female principal, receptive, internal. Yang - active,dynamic, assertive. Action without thought can have no direction or meaning and without action or thoughts cannot take form. We develope greater wisdom and strength by intergrating our yin and yang energies.Too yang? we become impatient and uncentered.We become too busy , we don't listen, and we make mistakes. Too yin,we are always listening, waiting putting others needs before our own, we become timid, passive and weak.Dynamic,balanced polarity must be reflected in the individual who seeks a dynamic, balanced relationship with the elemental energies. If we create this dynamic relationship with ourselves and nature we can access the creation force energies.
The Law of Summons
The law of summons requires personal effort and positive intent. Our earned skill and knowledge determines the sucess of our work.You must make connection with the elements you are working with otherwise you are just play acting or worse, creating chaotic energy resulting in confusion and mishaps. Others can be hurt. If your not willing to do the work you won't gain the rewards.
The Law of Balance
Wasted energies is a violation of natural law. Remember, nothing in excess is the rule. A harmonious relationship of body, mind and spirit reflects true adherence to this law. Walk in balance.
The Law of Equalities
Sometimes we walk side by side with others who's powers are equal and who are on parallel paths. However, when equal forces meet, one usually will "advance" to a higher state of knowledge as a result of that encounter. In a positive setting we often take turns assisting each other in growth. At times one persons knowledge will advance and the others will remain the same or even decrease, if there was a resistance to the growth of the other. These encounters, in fact all of our encounters are for creating catalyzing forces for us to obtain higher truths. Remember,each individual must walk there path alone.
The Law of Challenge
All information you recieve, regardless of their source, must be challenged by you. Detached,perceptive awareness is a way of determining valuable information. Regardless of the source of the information,only you can determine whether it is valid and of value for you. Never accept concepts, ideas or beliefs without questioning them.Ideas, visions,images,even spirit guides must be challenged by you.Whatever seems wrong,negative or simply a waste of time needs to be challenged.Remember to be polite,rebound is always a possibility.
The Law of Rebound
The Law of Rebound A superior force will over come a lesser one and the energy of both will rebound on the lesser. Superiority is measured in terms of intent, skill, and concentrated will.If you send out anger, then anger will be amplified thricefold as it returns to you. In using mirrors: Images and representations of mirrors will reflect the law of rebound no matter who sent the energy first.An energy field will develope between equal forces and can effect those caught in the middle including innocent bystanders. Building skill requires: Concentration of thought Concentration of purpose Concentration of Will Concentration of investigation.
Knowing and understanding the chakras,or energy centers of the body is invaluable knowledge for anyone on a spiritual path. Here is an introduction to Chakras.
THE CHAKRAS, The body's engergy vortexes.
The Root Chakra
In the body the first, or root chakra,is located at the perineum,midway between the
anus and the genitals.It corresponds to the coccyx and the coccygeal spinal
ganglion. The functions of the root chakra is survial, grounding and manifestation
of solid form within this earth plane.
The root chakra represents form and solidity.It is the chakra that vibrates at the"lowest"
end of the vibrational spectum. The color is red which is the color with the longest
wavelength and slowest vibrational rate of the visible spectrum, The sciatic nerve
located in our legs and traveling the full length down into our feet, resembles an
inverted tree or the root system of a tree. This image is helpful during grounding
excersises and meditations.
Grounding:
There are few people who are naturally grounded,and in our cultural prejudices we
tend to give the "higher" chakras more attention and we seem to place more importance
on them.I think it this view point is a mistake.The root chakra is the one that helps us to
be grounded.To be well grounded is to live in the true present, the here and now.
Without being wellgrounded it becomes very difficult to the things that we need in
our lives including our material and monetary needs.
The Act of grounding is dynamic process of contact with earth,nature and our source.
When we are not grounded we are easily manipulated,we lack clarity and are unable
to focus or take care of our survival needs.
Being grounded gives us a broad base of support, like the root system of a tree. It helps
us and supports us when we are working with the upper chakras. When we are not grounded
then no matter how much work we do on our "higher" chakras,we won't be able to maintain
or manifest the benefits of upper chakra work.

The Belly Chakra:
Located in the lower abdomen between the navel and the genitals,
Where the root chakra is about survival of the "I am",the belly chakra is
about the awareness of the other.It is about polarities,socialization,movement.
It is also about the emotions,nuturance,pleasure and sexuality.
When we enter the second chakrawe encounter change. Our consciousness
of ourselves as individuals expands to include awareness of others,of differences.
The awareness of these differences or oposites that setup polarities and create
attraction, desire and thereby motion.
The second chakra is also the center for clairsentience,the ability to sense other
people's emotions.This is also called empathy.It is experienced more as a subtle
feeling rather than as information.

Function:desire,pleasure,sexuality,procreation.
Glands:Ovaries,testicles
Associated parts of the body: womb, genitals,kidney, bladder,circulatory system.
Malfunction: impotence, fridgity, uterine,bladder and kidney problems, stiff lower back

3rd Chakra - Solar Plexus
The 3rd chakra's function is transformation.In the third chakra we rise above

Within the 3rd chakra we have the oportunity fo reexamine our concepts of power
which to this point involves the control of one part over another.In the third
chakra we can develop power within rather than power over.The third chakra
is our energy center and it helps us to focus our energy into power and direct
it to work our will.

The heart chakra is the the chakra of love,not the sexual aspect of love
which object oriented .It is the love from within that comes from peace,
harmony, and balance. Of being secure within ourselves.It has a deep
sense of spiritual connection.This sense of the spiritual is what makes the
mundane sacred for it can show us that there are no true boundaries, but
we are all made from the same stuff.
It controls, creates, sends and recieve communications.
Communication is the first way we transcend the physical.Communication
is an act of connection and is one of the the uniting principals of the upper
chakras. It is where the abstract or "pure" thoughts meet and can become a
manifested idea.
The brow chakra is the center of "seeing"whether it is with the eyes or in other
ways such as clairvoyance,remote viewingand visualizations.
In learning to operate out of the 6th chakra we also learn that time is not
truly linear.We can see with direct perception which is of course present time.
We can see things in our memory which is of course past tense.We can visualize
things in our imagination which can be past present or future.It is also the first
step in manifestation of ideas into material reality.Precognition is of course seeing
in future time.
The crown chakra represents our belief systems which rule our actions.It is the source
of consciousness and enlightenment. Through the Crown chakra, we can tap into
the Greater Consciousness or Universal Consciousness.
