Christianity

In today's society, when one says that they are a Christian, many people cringe in fear of being judged and sent straight to hell. On this page, I am going to try my hardest to confront some of the predjudices and misconceptions of Christianity.

For the record, it is in no way the responsibility for a Christian to pass judgment on another person. If a person claiming to be Christian tells you that you are going to burn in hell, then they need to go and re-read the Bible, because it states that no one has the right judge another. That is GOD'S job! All people will be judged for their lives and that judgement will come from the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, not the person talking to you, therefore, Jesus is the only person that has the right to judge. He paid the price, and He has the responsibility of judgement.

One job or responsibility (however you wish to state it) of a Christian is to spread the word of God. This is no way allows them to be judgemental, or to force their beliefs on others. God gave Adam and Eve the choice to follow His rules and the same freedom falls on all other people.

After a person has shared his/her beliefs with someone, their job is finished. If the recipient of the information decides not to follow this new information, then that is up to them. The only time a Christian should continue with teaching or sharing is if the other person wants to continue the conversation. If the recipient decides not to follow the word of God, then that is totally up to the individual. They will pay, not you.

As a Christian myself, I know what it is like to be descriminated against becasue of my beliefs. We now live in a society where it is "un-cool" to have any kind of organized 'religion', especially if it's name begins with 'Christ'. Because of some people's mis-interpretation of the Bible, and their 'need to save the world', people have associated Christianity with judgmental and rude people. WE ARE NOT ALL LIKE THAT! I will accept anyone as a friend regardless of their personal life or religious beliefs. I will NOT condone or accept their beliefs, but will accept the person as a child of God (like myself, who like myself, is going to do wrong things and screw up sometimes). We are all going to make mistake in life. God knew this and that is why He sent His son to die for us. So that if and when we do make a mistake, it can be forgiven by the blood of Jesus.

I am far from perfect, but I refuse to turn anyone away simply because of a difference in personal beliefs. The reason I will not turn anyone's friendship away is because I don't know if the Lord wants to use me as a tool to bring that person to Him. It may be that I am the person that is chosen to get the attention of that individual, and get them to ask questions that will help the individual towards Him. If I am not the tool to vring that person to Christ, then so be it. Someone else will come along. However, if I am the person to help the other come to the cross, and I do not help that person and push them away from me, I am in essence puching that person away from God and therefore am responsible for that person. If God tells me to befriend a person that is gay or athiest, then that is His will and I better do it or I will pay the consiquences of my own actions.

~*Though I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to the flames, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in inequity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, beleiveth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.*~
