Memories

When they woke up the next morning, they were in Chicago. Lila was still asleep, along with Taylor. They were playing a concert that night, so Isaac had the four who were awake to get all of the luggage ready while he checked in.

Once in the hotel room, Taylor had long since been awake, and Isaac had carried Lila to the room and had set her down on a bed.

"6 am is way too early for her." Isaac decided. "Last tour, it was all 7 or 8 am, but 6? That's just a little too harsh."

Later on that day, after the stage had been set up, Chloe found Brian sitting in the cafeteria.

"Hey Bri." She said, sitting down next to him.

"Hey Chloe. What's up with you?" Brian asked.

"Not much. Umm… Why did you leave?" she asked.

"I had a fight with Mom and Dad." Brian stated simply.

Chloe nodded. "What about?"

"Well, I… I came out to them, and they got pissed at me." Brian shrugged.

"Came out…? As in gay?" Chloe asked, surprised.

Brian nodded. Chloe shrugged. "Ok, cool."

Brian looked at her, surprised. "That's perfectly ok with you? I mean, you don't think…"

"No, of course not! I don't take after Mom and Dad." Chloe said.

"Good…" Brian grinned, giving his sister a hug. "I missed ya!"

"I missed you too. But, wait… How did you find out that I married Ike? Mom and Dad never found out." Chloe asked.

"Chloe, we're talking one of the most famous bands in pop history. Two of them get married within a year of each other? It was all over the news. 'Pop Superstars get married'." Brian said.

Chloe laughed. "Did they show pictures of me?"

"You and Kendall, from a long time ago. Like when you guys were 14 or 15."

"Opps. Wait a second… Did they talk about Lila at all?" Chloe asked.

"Who?" Brian asked, confused.

Chloe's eyes widened. "You don't know about Lila?"

Brian shook his head no.

"You mean no one ever told you about Lila? None of the other roadies? Mom or Dad?"

Once again, Brian shook his head no.

"Lila… The little girl that's running around?" Chloe asked.

"Lila?! I thought her name was Zoë!" Brian exclaimed.

"Zoe? No way Jose! Zoe's.. 7 or 8, I think. Lila's 4." Chloe explained.

"Ok, then who is she?" Brian asked.

"Are you sure Mom and Dad never told you?" Chloe asked.

"Absolutely positive." Brian answered.

"Lila's mine." Chloe said.

Brian looked at her for a moment. "But you're only 19… you said she was 4? That means… 15!?" Brian exclaimed.

Chloe nodded.

"Who's the father?!" Brian asked, surprised.

"Who do you want it to be?" Chloe countered.

"Some one you keep in touch with, hopefully." Brian answered.

"Well, you could say that… I mean, he DID get me knocked up twice." Chloe shrugged.

"But I thought Ike… Oh my God." Brian leaned back. "You mean that you and Ike… Well, you know, when you were 15?"

Chloe nodded. "No you are not getting the whole story. Only 3 people know it, and that's not by choice."

"But I thought that you lived at home when you were 15?"

"I did."

"But why? If you were pregnant, then why didn't Isaac take care of you?"

"Because he has very little memory of what happened." Chloe answered.

"Wha… Was he drunk?" Brian asked, confused.

"Yes." Chloe sighed.

"Why that little…" Brian started.

"Don't even think about it. He excepted responsibility, he apologized, and he took us in and married me. He's done everything right since then." Chloe said, standing up. "I need to go see what the guys are up to. It was nice chatting with you." With that, Chloe left, leaving behind a dazed and confused Brian.

She walked into the stage area, where Isaac was playing his guitar

"Hey Ike." She said, sitting down on the stage next to him.

"Hey Clo… What's up?" he asked, playing the first chords of 'A Minute Without You'.

"Nothing. I just got done talking to Brian… I found out why he left home." Chloe told Isaac.

"Why?" Isaac asked, grabbing his Acoustic.

"Because he's gay." Chloe shrugged, standing up.

"He's WHAT?!" Isaac asked, surprised.

"Gay. It's no big deal." Chloe said.

"Uh, yes it is! I do NOT want him to be around my daughter. He's too much of an influence towards her." Isaac demanded.

"Our daughter, Isaac. And my brother. You can't forbid him to see his own niece! You can't deny Lila the privilege of knowing her uncle!" Chloe fought back. "If Brian's such a bad influence towards Lila, then why are you even allowing me to talk to him?" she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Isaac looked confused for a moment. "Because…" he started, not saying anything after that.

"Exactly. You can't think of any reason that I can't see him, so why can't Lila?" Chloe crossed her arms, waiting for an answer.

"Because I want to protect her every way I can." Isaac responded.

"Protect her from what, Ike? Protect her from what you think is wrong, but in reality, is just a matter of genetics? Damn you, Isaac. I thought your parents raised you better then that." With that, Chloe ran off stage and into the dressing room.

She immediately curled up onto the couch and started sobbing, not carrying if anybody heard her. A few moments later, Zac walked in, surprised to see Chloe crying. He sat down next to her, not knowing how to handle it.

"Chloe, what's wrong?" Zac asked quietly, putting his hand on her back.

Chloe raised her head a little to look at Zac, then immediately started to cry again.

"What's wrong?" Zac tried again.

"Isaac…" Chloe said through her tears. Zac looked at her for a moment.

"Isaac? What did he do?" He asked, but Chloe refused to answer. Zac then got up and left the room, in search of Isaac. When he found him, Zac stormed up to him, resisting the urge to punch him.

"Why the hell is Chloe crying her eyes out?" Zac asked.

Isaac just looked at him for a second. "We got into a fight. Nothing big."

"Nothing BIG? Jesus, Ike! I thought you CARED about her!" Zac yelled.

Isaac looked up as if he'd been slapped. "I do! That's the reason she's pissed off at me right now."

Zac looked at him. "I'm not buying it."

"Well you should." Isaac shot back. "Just because she's spoiled doesn't mean that I'm the one to blame every time something happens!"

"SPOILED?! Isaac, you're not the one who had to take care of a baby for three years, wondering if the father ever really thought about you, or every really cared about you! Isaac, you took her life away from her. She has a reason to be the way she is. I don't care why she's crying, I just want you to go in there and apologize NOW." Zac ordered, standing up straight, into his 6'2 figure over Isaac's 5'11.

Isaac shook his head. "She's gonna have to apologize first."

Chloe avoided Isaac for the rest of the night, keeping Lila away, also. Right before the concert ended, Chloe snuck outside with Lila, not expecting fans to be there.

"Oh my God! Is your name Chloe?" one of the fans asked her. Chloe nodded her head slowly, walking towards the tour buses.

"Oh my God! You're Ike's wife, right?" Chloe was surprised to hear someone who didn't even know Isaac to call him Ike.

"Yeah, I am." She answered. The fan just looked at her for a moment, then screamed.

"Oh my God! Tell Ike I love him!" the fan screamed. Chloe just looked at her oddly, then continued walking to the bus. When she reached the area, she had almost 50 girls following her. She rapped on the door for Pat, the bus driver, to let her in. He opened the door, a grin on his face.

"I knew the guys were big, but you? Man, you have half of the crowd following you two!" Pat laughed, while Chloe just gave him a dirty look.

"Now is not the time, trust me." With that, Chloe went back to the bunk beds area, then tucked Lila into bed.

"Mommy, why are you mad at Daddy?" Lila asked.

"Because Daddy doesn't like Uncle Brian." Chloe stated simply, changing into her own pajamas. She then crawled into the bed over Lila's, and feel asleep almost instantly.
