The next morning Chloe tried to ignore Isaac as much as she could. He tried talking to her, but she quickly walked away and talked to either Kendall or one of the boys.
"You ever going to forgive Ike?" Kendall asked as her, Chloe, and Zac we all talking in one of the rooms on the tour bus. Chloe had propped herself up against a pillow and was sitting on the couch. Zac was sitting on a big chair that probably 3 people could fit in, and Kendall was sitting between his legs (Ok stop thinking sickly all you perverted people!) while Zac wrapped his arms around her waist and she leaned back on him, her head on his shoulder.
"I don't know. That just really, really got me mad. Being gay shouldn't make him that uncomfortable. I mean, a lot of people are gay. And it's not like Lila's going to automatically turn gay, just because she hangs around with her uncle. And for Isaac to forbid her to see him, just because he is a little freaked is totally wrong." Chloe said, not even paying attention to anything around her.
"Well, he was just protecting her…" Zac started, kissing Kendall on the head.
"Protecting her from what?" Chloe interrupted.
"I don't know. You know Ike. He's very overprotective of everyone. He was just freaked and then first feeling he felt, which was probably scared, or uncomfortable, he just felt that he had to act on it. Once he gets used to it and calms down a little he'll forget all about it." Zac reassured her.
The rest of the day was spent travelling, while Chloe and Taylor taught Lila how to play an old Nintendo 64.
Isaac eventually walked into the small room without being noticed, and he slowly made his way to Chloe, who was sitting against the small couch. He sat down next to her, then put his hand on top of her head. She shook her head slightly, but allowed him to keep his hand there.
Later on, once Lila had finally won a game, Chloe stood up, pushing Isaac's hand off of her. She walked into the gathering room, then sat down in the far corner. She curled up into a little ball, then Isaac sat down next to her.
"You know, I didn't get any sleep last night." He started. She just ignored him. "I slept in the bunk across from yours, and I looked at you. That's all I did last night. I watched you sleep, like I have many other nights. I'm sorry for how I reacted. Zac was right, I followed what I first felt. Brian isn't a bad guy. I'm proud to call him my brother in law. I know he won't influence Lila… She has to decide that on her own. Please, accept my apology…" Isaac mumbled, stroking Chloe's back. She turned around, not looking at him. She then put her head into his lap, then curled back up into a ball, with Isaac stroking her hair. He leaned down and kissed her on the forehead.
"As surely as the sun… rises each day… My love will never change…" Isaac whispered. Chloe smiled.
"Have you even thought of what the word Love really means?" she asked. The question took Isaac by surprise.
"Yeah, actually… Love is a feeling towards a person that's strong… You want to be with them every second of every day. A minute without them is pure torture…" Isaac sighed.
"You loved someone before you knew me, didn't you?" Chloe stated.
Isaac froze. "How did you know?"
Chloe shrugged. "Body language. I'm good at that."
"Yeah… I've gathered that. Really? I thought I was in love… Puppy love, perhaps. Her name was Sophie. She was… Pretty, I guess you could say. I later found out that she was playing me along, and that she was really there for the fame. I mean, we weren't big yet, but she knew about those things." Isaac explained.
"That's cool. I never did have a chance to have a serious boyfriend before I moved to Tulsa. Then there was Chris, but that's about it… Then it happened, and I moved back. I was too busy with Lila to even think about dating." Chloe said. "When did you start… liking me?"
Isaac looked thoughtful for a moment. "I'm not going to lie to you and say the moment I saw you, because then you were 13, and I was… 18? Maybe 19. I thought that you would be a good girlfriend for Taylor, but the thought of you and me never crossed my mind, until you grew up a bit." Isaac grinned.
"Same here, except I never really liked Taylor… He was too perfect, look-wise. I was afraid of him for a long time… You just turned into my friend. I have no idea how that happened." Chloe smiled, sitting up. "We have at least one more night in this bus before a nice hotel room. Are we going to stop for dinner?"
Isaac nodded. "Yeah. First McDonald's that Pat sees he said he'd go to."
Chloe nodded, then stood up and took Isaac's wrist, pulling him towards the bedroom in the back, where Taylor and Lila were playing cards.
"Hey guys… What are you playing?" Chloe asked suspiciously.
"Poker." Taylor responded. Isaac shot him a Look, then took a look at Lila's card, pointing out a few things to her. Afterwards, she smiled then showed a four of a kind.
"Man, ya beat me!" Taylor exclaimed, showing a pair.
Lila just sat there grinning, then they felt the bus screech to a stop. "Dinner time!" Pat yelled. There was a small race to get to the front first, then they all got out a ordered. A few people starred at them while they were in the restaurant.
Because of the crowds that were gathering, they decided to eat in the bus. Pat pulled into a big parking lot which was a half of a block away and they all stayed there for the next half hour, eating.
"A am sooo tired!" Kendall yawned.
"Then why don't you go to sleep?" Zac asked her.
"I'm going to." Kendall said as Chloe just smiled.
"Is it hot in here or is it just me?" Isaac asked.
"It's just you." Zac smiled.
"No, it's hot in here. Pat, can you turn the air conditioning on?" Chloe yelled to the bus driver.
"Yeah, sure. This better?" He asked as cool wind started blowing the other four.
"Yes. Thank you." Isaac told him and continued eating.
"Well see you all later." Kendall got up from the table. "I'm going to take a nap."
"Have a nice nap." Zac joked and kissed her on the cheek.
"Bye." Chloe said and ate a chicken nugget. She then looked at the chicken she held in her hand and frowned "Why am I even eating this? I hate chicken."
Isaac laughed, "Is that why Lila refuses to get a Happy Meal?"
Chloe nodded. "I taught that girl well."
Taylor laughed. "Yeah…" Zac stood up, towering over Taylor.
"Do I make you horny baby, do I?" he grinned. Taylor just looked up at him, then laughed.
"When the hell did you get so tall?" Taylor asked.
Zac shrugged. "During the recording of 'Longevity', I guess." He laughed. "I remember when we did the National Anthem for the Woman's World Cup Soccer, and we got a ton of fanmail commenting on how tall I had gotten. Man, I'm taller then you and Ike!"
Isaac scowled. "You had a growth spurt when you were 13 Zac. I had my first one when I was almost 15."
"Yeah,really Zac… Wait. Umm… Was I 13, too?" Taylor asked. Chloe nodded.
"I wasn't there, but I remember you being like 5'6 or something."
Later on that night, Pat popped in a CD that Chloe handed him, and as Isaac and Taylor watched in amazement, Chloe ran through the bus, singing at the top of her lungs to 'Baby Love'.
"Ohhh a ohhh… Baby love, my baby love, I need ya, oh oh I need ya…" Chloe sang, using a portable phone as a microphone. Kendall walked in, then started laughing. Chloe tossed her a drumstick, and they both started to sing. The song soon changed to one that Chloe immediately recognized.
"Oh my God! It's my song!" she squealed. "I need love…"
Isaac laughed. This had been one of his favorite Motown song. He grabbed another stick just as the chorus started.
"You can't hurry love, Oh, you'll just have to wait…" he sang in an incredibly high voice. Chloe's mouth dropped open as she heard him.
"Mariah Carey anyone?" she laughed. Isaac grinned, then kept on singing. Taylor soon joined in, and soon the song switched into a Jackson 5 song.
"Hey Tay… You should be pretty good at singing this." Chloe teased. Taylor stuck his tongue out at her, then soon a high pitched Michael Jackson started singing.
"When I had you to myself, I didn't want you around…" Taylor sung as high as he could, while Kendall rolled on the floor laughing.
Zac soon walked into the room to see his wife on the floor, turning purple, and his brothers and sister in law singing at the top of their lungs.
"You went to school to learn girl, what you've never never knew before…" ABC started, and Zac laughed at the sight in front of him. As Michael Jackson sung 'Shake it Shake it baby…" Chloe and Isaac were dancing, their backs facing each other, pressed together, and shaking it.
"Nice, Clo and Ike." Zac commented, crossing his arms. Taylor stopped singing, then looked at him. Taylor grinned, then tossed Zac the phone that Chloe had been using.
"Teacer's gonna show you (Show you) how to get an A…" Pat had repeated the song, obviously hearing what was going on. As the boys went 'High… YA' Chloe side kicked one of the posts. Isaac eye's widened.
"I never knew you could do that!" he exclaimed, once again doing the butt dance with Chloe.
Chloe laughed. "You don't know half of the things about me that you should."
"Then I guess I'm going to have to find out." Isaac smiled, turning around and kissing Chloe as 'I'll be there' started.
"You and I must make a pact… We must bring salvation back…" Zac picked Kendall up from the floor, then she wrapped her legs around his waist. Zac then started to slow dance. Kendall wasn't heavy, so it was easy for him to move. She was 5'6, a full 8" shorter then him.
"If you ever find someone new… He better be good to you…" Isaac sang softly, while Taylor sang along.
"I'll never find anyone as good as you." Chloe smiled, snuggling closer to Isaac.
With that, 'Baby Love' started up again. Isaac looked towards Pat oddly. "Is it just me or does that guy do this on purpose? There are 14 songs on this CD!" he yelled.
"I'm driving!" Pat yelled back.
"I pay you to drive!" Isaac shot back. With that, 'I'll Be There' started up again. Isaac laughed.
"Listen, I'm dead tired… It's almost 2 AM. It's been great, but I'm going to bed." Isaac stated. He then walked out of the room with Chloe departing also.
Once they reached the room and the door was locked, Isaac walked Chloe into a corner. He put one arm on either side of her, talking softly.
"The last one didn't make it. Would you like to try again?"
Chloe smiled, nodding. She wrapped her arms around him, then kissed him softly. "This time, let's do things right."
Isaac smiled, then kissed her back.
The next morning, Chloe was awaken by a knocking on the door. She got up and put her robe on, then opened the door slightly, revealing a giddy Taylor.
"Hey Tay. What's up?" Chloe asked. Taylor started jumping up and down.
"Is Ike awake yet?" he asked. Chloe shook her head, then glanced at Isaac. He was curled up, his arm against the pillow.
"Give me a minute and I'll get him up for you." With that, Chloe closed the door, then walked over to Isaac. She sat down gently next to him, then ran a finger lightly between his eyes. He immediately opened his eyes, then starred at Chloe.
"Honey, I think Taylor wants to talk to you." Chloe whispered. Isaac sighed, then rolled over. After a moment, he sat up then threw on his robe and went to the door.
"Hey Tay… Why are you so hyper?" Isaac asked.
"Oh. My. God. 'Blaze' is number one on the singles charts, and the album's number one on the albums chart!" Taylor exploded, jumping up and down. Isaac gasped, then joined his little brother.
"Does Zac know?" he asked. Taylor nodded.
"He's in the shower right now… I'm not sure where Kendall is, and Lila's still sleeping." Taylor answered.
"A little too much caffeine this morning, Taylor?" Chloe smiled, leaning up against Isaac. Taylor shook his head.
"It's only 5:45… I just wanted to tell you." Taylor grinned. Isaac thanked his brother, then shut the door.
"Number one? Oh my God…" Isaac fell onto the bed, grinning like a mad man. "This only happens once."
"Nah. At the rate you're going, maybe twice." Chloe grinned, laying down next to him.
Isaac rolled his eyes. "I don't know how to reply to that, so I'm not answering."
Chloe grinned, then rolled over, almost on top of him. "Good, because I wouldn't let you."
The next two months went great, as the guys played venues all over the world. Once they were in Asia, things started to get a little crazy. Taylor had sprained his ankle by trapping over a cord in Taiwan, and Chloe, wasn't feeling too well. She told Kendall and Kendall only, and refused to go to a doctor.
"Come on Clo… What if it's something bad?" Kendall asked, concerned.
"Then I'll go when we're back in the US." Chloe responded. "Plus, I don't think it's anything bad at all."
Kendall looked confused. "You're tired all the time, you throw up, yet you eat like a horse. Tell me what is so good about that?"
Chloe grinned. "Easy."
"Then tell me!" Kendall commanded. Chloe shook her head, Kendall sighed, then leaned back in the chair she was in. "Can I guess?"
Chloe nodded. Kendall looked thoughtful for a moment, then she grinned. "You're dying so you can pull off one of those fake death things and get away from all the attention."
Chloe started laughing. "Not even!"
Kendall thought about it for a while, then someone must have turned on a light switch in her mind, because Chloe could have sworn her eyes just lighted up.
"You're pregnant!" Kendall exclaimed. Chloe grinned, then shrugged.
"I think so. I mean, I'm over a month late… But please do NOT tell anyone, ok?" Chloe pleaded.
Kendall's eyes sparkled. "No problem. How far along do you think you are?"
Chloe shrugged once again. "Two months maybe. But that's just an estimate."
"Why don't you want to go to a doctor?" Kendall asked.
"Because I want to be in the USA… I mean, I'll only have to wait one more week, then we'll be in Detroit. I'll go, then if I'm right, I'll tell Isaac and everyone else. Mom didn't even know I was pregnant last time, and she's gonna have a cow." Chloe laughed.
Kendall grinned, also. "Does she even know you're married? You haven't talked to her since you arrived in Tulsa."
"You know me too well, and no, I don't think she does, unless Brian told her, which I doubt he did. Man, I gotta tell her I'm married before I tell her that I'm… Why, hello Isaac." Chloe quickly shut up as Isaac walked into the small room.
"Hey Kenni. Hey Clo. What are you two chatting about?" he asked, sitting down next to Chloe.
"Nothing much. I just realized that my mother doesn't know that I married you." Chloe grinned.
Isaac looked at her, surprised. "If she doesn't watch TV and lives in a hole, maybe. You haven't talked to her in a while, that's all, and she has no way of knowing where you are."
Chloe shrugged. "You have a good point there."
"We're going to be in Detroit on the 7th, so we're going to go visit our families." Kendall explained. Isaac nodded in agreement.
"Only a week left."
The week flew by, and soon Chloe found herself outside her mother's house. She had an appointment with the doctor in less then 3 hours, so she made to make the visit fairly quick.
She rang the doorbell, and soon she heard her mother open the door. Mrs. Ouellette smiled when she saw her daughter, and gave her a hug.
"Sweetheart... How are you?" her mother asked. Chloe grinned, then answered.
"Better then usual. How about you?" she asked.
"Great, great… I heard that you got hitched to that Hanson boy." Mrs. Ouellette commented as she lead Chloe inside. "How did he react to Lila?"
"He didn't complain. I think he liked her from the start. 3 days later, I'm engaged." Chloe grinned as her mother gasped.
"That soon? Why, I would have thought you would have had better sense then to get… Engaged when you only knew the guy for 3 days!"
"Mother… This is Isaac we're talking, not Grant Jumpers or whoever… I've known him since I was 13, and you know that. If anything, he asked me a little later then expected. I mean, God, he knew about Lila for what, a half a year before he invited us to live with him?" Chloe said.
"Well, still… How was the wedding, and how come I wasn't invited?"
"Mom, nobody was invited except for family in the Tulsa area and close friends. I didn't want you to come down because I knew you'd take charge of my wedding. Isaac and I had it just the way we wanted it. Simple and plain, but perfect. I mean, God mom, I was 3 months pregnant at the time… I didn't want anything fancy." Chloe saw her mother's reaction, and she immediately kicked herself for letting the whole pregnancy thing slip.
"Exactly how many grandchildren do I have? You don't look fat…" her mother commented.
"That's because I was in a car accident when I was 5 months along, and it killed the baby. But, believe it or not, I think I'm pregnant again. I have an appointment at 3:30." Chloe explained.
"Oh, my poor baby… That had to hurt. Are you ok?" Mrs. Ouellette asked.
"Yes, mom, I'm fine. It took Isaac a while and a concert to pick me up, but I'm fine now." Chloe answered. The next 2 hours were spent chatting about everything, and when Chloe realized what time it was, she gasped.
"Crap mom… I've got to go. If I'm not, I'll call you, and if I am, you know the number." With the, Chloe rushed out the door and into the car, nearly killing herself on the way to the doctor's. She was right on time, and she was sent in right away.
A half an hour later, she came out happily knowing that she was going to be a mother again. Kendall was waiting for her, and Chloe nearly burst with excitement.
"It came out positive." Chloe squealed. The two girls jumped up and down for a while, excited.
"This is your third time having a kid, and you're only 19, soon to be 20!" Kendall exclaimed.
"I know. Isn't it scary?" Chloe grinned. The two girls walked out the door, and Kendall drove back to the hotel they were staying at. Isaac, Taylor, and Zac were at a sound check, so they drove right to the Palace, which was in Auburn Hills.
Once they had found the guys, they were finished and the concert was to start in less then an hour. The guys were dressed, and they were sitting in their dressing room, playing cards. Lila was there with them, playing a mean poker.
"You guys, she's only 4." Chloe rolled her eyes.
"Exactly. Good time to learn." Isaac grinned.
"Haha mister I'm-too-sexy-to-play." Chloe playfully punched Isaac in the shoulder.
"Nah. I'm just too sexy for you." Isaac grinned, pulling Chloe into his lap.
"Yeah, you WISH…" Chloe grinned. Kendall nudged her softly, then Chloe cleared her throat.
"Hey guys, I have something to say…" she said, scooting off of Isaac's lap.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"I'm about 2 and a half months pregnant." Chloe grinned. Isaac grinned, then pulled her back into his lap, kissing her.
"Congrats, my girl!" Taylor grinned, patting her on the back.
"Whoa, Ike… That's three times now. You go boy!" Zac kidded, slapping Isaac on the back. Isaac just grinned sheepishly.
"How long have you known?" he asked.
"For sure? About an hour now." Chloe answered.
"Ok, let me rephrase that… How long have you thought you were pregnant?"
"About a month or so. But I didn't want you to get all excited, so I decided to know for sure before I told you." Chloe explained. Just then, someone came in and told them that they had 5 minutes.
"Man, Chloe, why'd you have to tell him BEFORE the show? Now he's gonna mess up!" Zac moaned.
Kendall laughed. "Well, I'll tell you something…" she whispered something into Zac's ear. Zac's eye's widened and his mouth opened slightly.
"Whoa." He said.
The 6 left the dressing room, and into the wings of the stage. A roadie distributed earplugs to everyone.
"Ok guys… You know the drill. Open up with 'Blaze'." The roadie reminded them. Isaac nodded, his mind somewhere else at the time.
Chloe giggled a little, then waved her hand in front of his face. "Earth to Isaac… Isaac, come in, do you read me?"
Isaac suddenly snapped out of it, then looked at his wife and smiled. "I'm here, don't worry…"
"Good, because it's time to go on. I'm gonna be in the audience this time, along with Kendall. Lila's at my mom's…" Chloe informed him.
Isaac laughed. "Just before I go on stage, huh?"
"Ya got that right, buster." Chloe grinned, disappearing with Kendall.
The guys walked out to their instruments, then Isaac started then beginning chords of 'Blaze'. The audience's screams rose to roars as Isaac winced through his earplugs.
"The fire in my heart… The blaze in my mind…"
The curtain then dropped, and Isaac saw Kendall and Chloe in the front row, dead center, holding a sign that said 'How Clo can you go, Baby Girl?'. Baby Girl was Zac's beloved nickname for Kendall.
"I lose control whenever I see you…" Isaac sang, getting a dead chord. He winced. Isaac hated it when that happened, especially during concerts.
"I fell in love once I saw you… I just knew you were the one… Who put the fire in my heart, the Blaze in my mind…" The song faded out, and Taylor started talking.
"Hey guys, it's great to be here! I can already tell you guys know how to rock!" Isaac rolled his eyes. It was always the same line. Isaac wondered if the fans had caught on yet.
Isaac then started up the chords to River. He walked over to Zac's drum set, where Zac was counting. Isaac had given Zac the lead to this song, so he turned around and started singing along with Zac. Isaac wasn't near a microphone, so the fan's couldn't see him. Isaac knew from experience that it was tough keeping a beat and singing at the same time.
"Lately we've been talking about who we are… Seems we don't know anymore… All this time we've been thinking, at night I've been dreaming about you…" Zac sang softly. Isaac made a motion for him to sing a bit louder.
After that song was done, Isaac walked back to his microphone, where he introduced the net song.
"This next song is a very popular Motown song… This is for you, Detroit!" Isaac yelled. Taylor started the song gracefully, allowing his fingers to glide across the keys after each note.
"You and I must make a pact… We must bring salvation back…Where there is love, I'll be there… I'll reach out my hand to you… I have faith in all you do… Just call my name and I'll be there…" Taylor sang softly. Isaac then sang the second verse.
Zac sang the third, looking directly towards Kendall the whole time. The tempo suddenly switched into a faster version.
"Sugar pie, honey bunch… you know that I love… I can't help myself, I love you and nobody else…" Zac sang quickly. There was no drum in this song that a synthesizer couldn't handle, so he took a portable and walked around the stage, joining Taylor and Isaac many times.
"Can't help myself…" Zac finished. The beat once again changed as Zac got back behind his set.
"Ain't no mountain high enough… Ain't no valley low enough, and ain't no river wide enough, to keep me from getting to you babe…" the group sang.
Almost an hour later, Kendall and Chloe were backstage and waiting for the three to come offstage. They were doing a small encore, which they did at every show.
Once they were done, they came running towards the girls at top speed. Isaac swept Chloe up into a hug, picking her up off her feet and giving her a kiss. Once she was down on the ground again, Chloe smiled.
"What was that for?" she grinned.
"Cause I love you so much." Isaac grinned, leaning over to kiss her again.
After that, the guys went to the dressing room to get changed, then went out for the meet and greet. There were only around ten fans, one of which Chloe recognized.
"Ohmigod, Sarah?" she grinned, looking at the 19 year old that had been her best friend since she was 1.
"Chloe? Chloe Ouellette?" Sarah grinned, giving her friend a hug.
"I never knew you like Hanson!" Chloe exclaimed.
"Duh, I went to the '98 one with you. I never knew you slept with one." Sarah commented.
"You can't already tell, can you?" Chloe exclaimed, touching her stomach. Sarah's eyes bulged.
"You're…?" Sarah trailed off. Chloe nodded. Sarah let out a squeal of delight, and she started jumping up and down. Chloe joined her, just as Isaac touched her shoulder.
"Chloe, come on…" he coaxed, trying to get her to stop jumping.
Sarah stopped just as Chloe stopped. She sent her a signal clearing asking if Isaac was the one.
Chloe nodded, then introduced the two. "Sarah, this is my husband, Isaac. Isaac, this is one of my best friends, Sarah."
"Hi, nice to meet you." Isaac smiled and shook Sarah's hand.
"Nice to meet you, too." Sarah grinned, obviously overjoyed.
"Ok, any ways, Ike… I'm going to go pick Lila up at Mom's, so I'll be back soon, ok?" Chloe asked.
"Aww, come on… Lila can stay the night just this once, can't she? Besides, I'm sure she's already asleep." Isaac whined.
Chloe rolled her eyes. "Fine, just this once. Let me call Mom then, ok?" with that, she left.
Later that night, back at the hotel, Isaac and Chloe were sitting next to each other on the bed, watching MTV.
"Carson Daily looks so old." Chloe commented. Isaac nodded, then pulled Chloe closer to him.
"Do you want to talk?" Isaac asked, turning off the TV with the remote. Chloe nodded, then snuggled a little closer to Isaac, bring her knees to her chest.
"You know what I think would be cool?" Chloe asked.
"What?"
"If the baby was born somewhere foreign, like Japan or somewhere. Then he or she would be a citizen of that country, and a USA citizen." Chloe smiled.
Isaac nodded. "Yeah, that'd be really cool."
"I read in a book once that you had a really bad temper. Do you?" Chloe asked.
"Which book?" Isaac asked.
Chloe shrugged. "I read so many of them that I honestly don't know. Probably MMMBop to the Top or Dancin' with Hanson."
Isaac laughed. "I remember Ravi… Man, at that Seattle concert he was so shy… It was funny. He thought we were mad at him or something like that… We weren't. We were just busy and going our separate ways."
"Yeah, life tends to do that to you…" Chloe sighed, then snuggled in closer to Isaac.
"You know, my mom always said that a life without love was a life not worth living." Isaac said out of the blue.
Chloe glanced up at him. "Yeah, I've heard that before."
"Well, I just wanted to say thanks for making my life worth living." Isaac kissed Chloe on the top of her forehead.
"No, thank you."
