The Pokémon Stadium

Author's Note: Ash's current Pokémon are Charmeleon, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Pidgeotto, and of course, Pikachu. I know he has others, but let's just say the rest are with Professor Oak. I dedicate this story to my dead grandfather.
CHAPTER ONE
We join Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu in Gwenai Town, the city of extremely rare Pokémon. Pikachu is sleeping in Ash's backpack while everyone else is looking for the Pokémon Center. "Gee, for a city with so many rare Pokémon, you'd think they would have a Pokémon Center!" complained Misty. "Oh, stop it Misty, it has to be around here somewhere." grumbled Brock. "Hey, what's that?" Ash pointed to a large crowd. "Let's check it out!" yelled Brock. Ash and the gang ran over to the crowd and found out it was a Pokémon battle between a Machamp and a Golem. Unfortunately, the battle was almost over and they had missed the action. Machamp was furiously punching Golem until it fainted. Machamp raised his four arms into the air with a cry of victory, causing the whole crowd to cheer. "Machamp! Return!" commanded the Machamp trainer. "Golem! Return!" commanded the Golem trainer. "Another round?" asked the Machamp trainer. The Golem trainer nodded and threw a Pokéball to the ground. "Raichu! GO!" he yelled. "Poliwrath! GO!" said the other. The battle continued with three more rounds. By the last one, Ash and Brock were getting tired. But Misty was trying to figure out how in the world one of the trainers get their Seadra to fight in the manner it did. "It's getting dark guys, we should find the Pokémon Center and a motel for the night." suggested Ash. A stray citizen overheard Ash's conversation and butted in. "Uh, if you're looking for the Pokémon Center, it is a couple of blocks that way." said the stranger, pointing off to the south. "The Pokémon Center bunks humans as well as Pokémon, so you don't need to find a motel." "Thanks, mister." said Ash. "Burhman, Rob Burhman." said the man. "Uh, thanks Rob Burhman." "You're new here, aren't you?" "We're just passing through, that's all." "Do you train Pokémon?" "Sure do!" said Brock. "All three of you? Did you all team together with Professor Oak's starter Pokémon?" "Uh, no. I met Ash when he completely destroyed my bike. And we met Brock in the Pewter City Gym." said Misty. "And you're Ash's friend for it?" "No! For your information, I'm only following him because he owes me a bike! And I won't leave for one second!" "Oh brother." grumbled Ash. "Well, I train Pokémon nearby, maybe we could have a match
sometime." said Rob. "How about tomorrow?" asked Brock. "Allright, come to my place at 11:30 AM. The easiest route to it from the Pokémon Center is take a left at the back exit for two blocks and look for a place called the Pokémon Stadium." Rob walked away. Pikachu suddenly woke up and the first thing he
saw was another Pikachu about to be tackled by an Ivysaur. "PIKACHU!" screamed Pikachu as he leapt to the other's defense. Pikachu used Thundershock on the Ivysaur and it fell to the ground completely fried. Then Pikachu realized he had just barged in on a Pokémon battle. "Pika?" said Pikachu, sweating in embarrasment. "Ivy!" roared the Ivysaur. The Ivysaur started to chase Pikachu
until the trainers recalled their Pokémon. "Uh, sorry, I don't know what got into him!" apologized Ash. "It is okay. It's your blasted Pikachu I'm angry at! Watch over him carefully." said the Ivysaur trainer. Later, Ash and the gang arrive at the Pokémon Center. This one was different from the others. There were Pokémon running all around the place. Brock struggled not to step on a Squirtle. Ash and Brock approached the desk in which Nurse Joy was sitting in. "Excuse me," said Ash, "My name is Ash, and I'd like my Pokémon revitalized please." "Okay, are you staying here too?" asked Nurse Joy. "Uh, yeah. Three humans and a Pokémon." "Hmmm." Nurse Joy began tapping the keys on her PC. "Room 56 is ready, so here's the key." Nurse Joy took Ash's Pokéballs and handed
Brock the key. "So, uh, Joy...are you going to be busy tonight?" asked Brock. "Who are you?" "My name is Brock! I am the Pewter City Gym Trainer!" "So you've met my cousin's sister there?" "Of course!" "Well, I don't know what she let you get away with, but usually somebody asks me out when they're MY age!" "Is that a no?" "Go about your business!" "Aw man, shot down again!" Ash and Brock left the desk, only to find Misty patting the head of a Clefairy someone was showing off. "Misty, we have a room now. I think it was 56." said Ash. "Hold on Ash! I'm busy!" shouted Misty. "C'mon Ash, let's check the room out!" suggested Brock. "Race ya!" cried Ash. Ash and Brock began running through the endless hallways of the hotel. Every once in a while there would be a Pokémon or two getting in the way, but Ash only tripped over one. Finally, they both arrived at the room. "Gee, I hope I didn't hurt that Rattata too badly." said Ash as Brock opened the door to their room. "Yeah, well at least it didn't attack you, I heard that their bite can poison you!" exclaimed Brock. "Whatever, just let me see what's in the room." Ash and Brock looked in the room and found three beds and one tiny bed nearby. "It doesn't take a genius to guess which one is for Pikachu." said Brock. "Hey, where is Pikachu anyway?" asked Ash. "I think Pikachu is still in the lobby with Misty." "Oh no! What if he tried to follow us and got lost!?" "Don't worry Ash, I'm sure Misty would have kept him from
coming." "I'll go check anyway." Ash ran back to the lobby and found Misty showing off Pikachu to everyone claiming it was HER Pokémon. "Hey! Misty! What are you doing!?" shouted Ash. "I'm showing everyone how good Pikachu is!" grinned Misty. "But he's MINE!" "Chu." said Pikachu. Meanwhile, Brock was lying on the the bed staring at the ceiling thinking of what Ash is doing at the moment. Brock started to feel hungry and opened his backpack. There was nothing edible inside. Brock was about to go see what Ash was doing when he noticed that Ash had dropped his backpack in the room before he left. Brock went over and was about to open it when he heard Ash and Misty coming towards the room arguing again. "But he's MY Pokémon!" yelled Ash. "Yeah, but Pikachu likes me more than you! Isn't that right Pikachu?" asked Misty. "Chu." said Pikachu, grasping its own head. Ash and Misty walked in and noticed Brock pretending to not know what they were talking about and changed the subject. "So, does anyone have the time?" asked Brock. "It's almost past our curfew!" cried Misty, looking at her watch. "Well then, let's get some sleep!" yelled Brock.
CHAPTER TWO
The next day, Pikachu was the first to wake up. It noticed everyone was asleep, so it quietly snuck out the door to the lobby. In the lobby, Pikachu attempted to climb onto the desk that Nurse Joy was
sitting at. It fell down the first try, but the second time it made it. "Hey, where did you come from?" asked Nurse Joy. "Pika! Kachu!" cried Pikachu. "Ash? Oh, the young man with the creepy Gym Trainer following him! Yeah, his Pokémon are ready." Nurse Joy picked up a small tray with four Pokéballs in it. "Are you gonna bring these to him?" "Pika!" nodded Pikachu. "Well, here." Joy handed Pikachu the tray. "And be careful not to get stepped on. It happens a lot here." Pikachu looked down from the desk and got scared. To Pikachu, it was like
a million miles down! But Joy helped him. Pikachu balanced the tray as best he could and tried to walk back to the room at the same time. When Pikachu arrived, it was exhausted. But everyone else was still asleep. Pikachu got bored and wanted to talk to someone. He opened one of the Pokéballs and out came Squirtle. "Squirtle?" asked Squirtle. Pikachu and Squirtle started a conversation which ended abruptly when Pikachu noticed it was almost 11:30. But everyone was STILL asleep. "PIKA! PIKACHU! CHUUUUU!" screamed Pikachu. But nobody got up. Pikachu started jumping on their beds. But still nobody got up.
Pikachu waved for Squirtle to help him out. So Squirtle went over and spewed
water all over Ash's face. Finally he woke up. "Hey! What was that for?!" asked Ash. Pikachu pointed at the clock. "Oh no! We're gonna be late! Guys, wake up!" Misty and Brock woke up as well and looked at the clock. "So what if we're a tad late? Rob would understand." said Misty. "He seems like a nice person." "Yeah, but I just can't wait to see what kind of Pokémon he has! Let's GO!" Ash noticed Squirtle out of his Pokéball. "Hey, what are you doing out of your Pokéball?" Ash picked up the empty Pokéball from the tray. "Squirtle! Return!" Squirtle jumped into Ash's Pokéball. Ash picked up the rest of the Pokéballs and left along with Misty and Brock. Pikachu was a little ticked off, as he brought the Poke balls back voluntarily and Ash didn't even notice. Ash followed the directions and came to a huge dome-shaped building. "WOW! This place is HUGE!" commented Ash. Misty finaly caught up, then Brock. Brock was carrying Pikachu. "Ash, for some reason Pikachu didn't feel much like coming here with you." said Brock. "Pikachu said it had something to do with Pokéballs." "I'm sure it's nothing. Let's go inside!" yelled Ash. Ash was about to walk inside when he noticed that the doors were locked. "What the..." "Ash, this is the back door." said Brock. "Most likely this door will be locked." "Oh yeah!" They all walked around to the front of the dome. "Hey! Why is there a ticket booth there?" asked Ash. "You're asking US?" asked Brock. Ash walked over to the booth. "Uh, excuse me, we're looking for Rob Burhman." said Ash to the booth person. "Rob, eh? Admission is $20." said the booth person. "$20!? He invited us here!" "How do I know that?" "Ask him!" Suddenly, Rob opened the front doors. "Don't worry Larry, they're with me." said Rob. "SEE! Told you!" bragged Ash. Ash and the gang followed Rob inside only to find millions of Pokémon training to exhaustion. "Wow! How many Pokémon are in here?" asked Misty. "I'm not sure." said Rob. "So, you guys wanna battle or what?" "We're ready!" shouted Ash. "Allright, follow me." Rob brought Ash to a clearing where no Pokémon were around. "We use three Pokémon each. I choose...Machop! GO!" "Allright then, Bulbasaur! GO!" Both Ash and Rob's Pokéballs hit the ground and up sprouted both Bulbasaur and Machop. "Bulbasaur! Razor Leaf!" "Machop! Mega Kick!" Bulbasaur shot out razor-sharp leaves from its back. Machop avoided the leaves and kicked Bulbasaur. "Bulba!" groaned Bulbasaur. "Bulbasaur! Return!"
"Machop! Return!" "Two more matches." said Ash. "Squirtle! I choose you!" "Hmmm, Ditto! I choose you!" The Pokéballs hit the ground and up came Squirtle and Ditto. "Ditto! Transform!" ordered Rob. Ditto mutated right into Squirtle. "Squirtle! Tackle attack!" The two Squirtles jumped at each other, but one fell to the ground out cold and the other standing victorious. "Which one won?" asked Ash. "Ditto, is that you?" asked Rob. "Squirtle?" said Squirtle. "I guess you won this time. Ditto! Return!" "Squirtle! Return!" "Beedrill! GO!" "Pidgeotto! GO!" The Pokéballs hit the ground and Beedrill and Pidgeotto sprouted up. "Beedrill! Use your Poison Sting attack!" "Pidgeotto! Gust attack!" Before Pidgeotto could do anything, Beedrill flew up and stabbed it
right in the stomach. "Pidgeo!" cried Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto cleched its stomach in agony. "Ash! Pidgeotto's been poisoned! Call him back!" cried Misty. "Pidgeotto! Return!" "Beedrill! Return!" "Aw man! Pidgeotto's in trouble! It's even trying to get out of the Pokéball!" shouted Ash. "Trouble?" "Make it double." "To protect the world from devestation!" "To unite all peoples within our nation!" "To denounce the evils of truth and love!" "To extend our reach to the stars above!" "Jessie!" "James!" "Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!" "Surrender now or prepare to fight!" "Oh, shut up, you two! Let's get this show on the road!" yelled Meowth. "Oh no, not now!" Misty said, annoyed. "Quiet! We're not here for your wussy little Pikachu this time." said
Jessie. "PIKACHU!!!!" screamed Pikachu, who just about had it for the day. "This time we're here for all the rare Pokémon in this stadium!" said James. "Quiet numbskull! You're not here to give away our plan!" yelled Jessie. "Uh, could you come ruin everything some other time? I've got to get Pidgeotto to the Pokémon Center right now!" yelled Ash. "Shut up! Weezing, GO!" ordered James. James threw his Pokéball into the air and out came Weezing, the
evolved version of Koffing. "Weezing! Smog attack!" "Weezing!" said Weezing. Weezing floated around the dome puffing a thick black cloud of smog out of
itself. Unfortunatly for Team Rocket, another Pokémon trainer had his Dragonite fly up and blow the smog away with its wings. Then the other trainers shut down the floating pollution blob by getting all of their Pokémon to battle. "Do I have to do everything?" asked Jessie. "Arbok! GO!" Jessie threw her Pokéball and Arbok popped up. But before Jessie could give it a command, a Machoke picked Arbok up by the tail and swung it around in numerous circles. "Ash! I'll take care of it from here! Get Pidgeotto to the Pokémon Center!" yelled Rob. Ash looked at Pidgeotto's Pokéball. Pidgeotto continued to try to get out of the Pokéball. "Hold on Pidgeotto!" cried Ash. Ash ran off, but Misty and Brock stayed behind to help battle Team Rocket. "Starmie! GO!" shouted Misty. Unfortunatly, another Pokéball rolled off of Misty's belt and Psyduck sprouted from it. "Psyduck!? What are you doing? I wanted Starmie to battle!" "Psy?" said Psyduck. It was obviously confused and was holding onto its head at the same time. "Don't worry Misty, you can trade Psyduck one of these days." said
Brock. "Geodude! GO!" Team Rocket brought themselves reinforcements, though. A large number of Rocket members joined in and used their own Pokémon. Meanwhile, Ash got to the Pokémon Center just in time. A group of Chansies took Pidgeotto into the ER. Ash looked out the window at the Pokémon Stadium. He was also
wondering what the blimp with the big "R" on it was doing on top of the stadium. "Oh crud!" shouted Ash in front of everybody. "Team Rocket is taking
over the Pokémon Stadium!" The crowd of Pokémon trainers stood up and recalled
all of their Pokémon. "Team Rocket isn't getting that place EVER!" cried a trainer. "Huh? Did they try this before?" "Sure they did! I count this as the 27th time they tried to take our stadium!" said a civilian. "We have stopped them before, but lately they have been getting the drop on us all. But we don't know how." said another civilian. Ash looked out the window again. A few choppers were towing the blimp away. It looked like Gwenai Town won again. Ash chuckled when he saw a Pinsir get chased out of the stadium by a lone Rattata.
CHAPTER THREE
Ash ran over to the stadium and saw Brock come out all bruised and
scratched. "Brock! Are you okay?" asked Ash. "Um, yeah." said Brock. Then Misty came out. She wasn't hurt at all. "Ash, part of the stadium collapsed." said Misty. "So?" asked Ash. "Well, a beam fell on top of Rob and...and...he...he didn't make it." Ash's eyes widened. He hadn't expected Team Rocket to go THIS far. "And his Pokémon?" asked Ash. "All sent to Adoption Centers." Ash saw all of Rob's Pokémon being loaded into an Adoption Center truck, crying. Rob's Ditto attempted to transform into Rob, but it just wasn't the same. "And I assumed good guys win all the time." said Brock sadly. They then continued their journey along the path out of Gwenai Town, all keeping in mind the kindness of Rob Burhman.
CHAPTER FOUR
But what of Team Rocket? For surely they deserve to get some kind of ending! Jessie and James were in the back of a patrol car Officer Jenny was driving towards the Gwenai Town Jail. Meowth had managed to escape, so he came up with a plan to rescue Jessie and James. Meowth ran into the road and pretended to be hit by Officer Jenny's car. "Oh my! I hit that Meowth!" cried Officer Jenny. She exited the patrol car to see if Meowth was OK. James broke the patrol car's windshield and he and Jessie jumped through. Meowth saw them escaping and ran after them. "What the!" cried Officer Jenny, spotting the escaping Team Rocket members. "Calling all cars, we have two fugitives on the loose! Both are from Team Rocket!" She began describing them.
* * *
Jessie, James, and Meowth were hiding in a back alley. "We have failed...again." sighed James. "But we were helped this time, proving that Team Rocket is just a bunch of losers!" moaned Meowth. "Oh yeah? I was able to snatch a Pokéball from that Rob Burhman guy." grinned Jessie. "Crack it open! I wanna see what it is!" cried James. "Pokéball, go!" cried Jessie. She threw it to the ground. A red flash formed into an Eevee. "A rare Pokémon!" smiled James.
"Eevee may be rare, but without Evolution Stones, it's just a tiny rodent." sighed Meowth. "We can get some Evolution Stones from our boss! We still don't know what will happen if we use all three Evolution Stones on it!" grinned James. "Eevee!" moaned the poor Eevee.
